Completed my first (of 2) magnetized army transport cases.

It didn't go as easily as I had thought it would....epoxy wouldn't hold the metal down to the plastic, so had to screw it down. E6000 wouldn't hold the brackets to the plastic fully, so had to screw them. Handles, designed for drawers, had too long of a bolt....and the hardware store ones I got ended up just a hair too big around (chinese measuring...go figure)....so had to cut down the original ones.

All in all though, it turned out great and my figures are going to be super secure!

I’m looking to do the same thing for AT and bought 8x2mm high magnets for the underside of the bases but I don’t know what to get for a metal lining or how to secure it. I had thought of trying Liquid Nails when I find a suitable magnetic sheet.

This is the sheet that I ended up using.

https://www.truevalue.com/galvanized-steel-sheet-26-gauge-12-x-24-in

I also got some $6 straight cut aviation tin snips to cut it.

A person can also Google for companies that will custom cut and ship sheet steel to you....but its a bit more, of course.

I spray painted it with a black "textured" spray paint...as I heard that the smooth steel finish can sometimes allow minis to slide. I saw videos where people used "cloth tape" but I couldn't find any.

Cool, I should stop by Home Depot. Grip tape from Walmart may reduce sliding too.

Is that a stackable container you're using? I should magnetize those for horde armies.

Yep, it is. I got them at Dollar General for like....$11.50 each, I believe.

Looks good. Works well both as storage and for transporting.

Thinking of doing something like this as my current improvised storage solutions are getting a bit messy.

Just to check, so I'm clear on what you did here -

1) You screwed a metal sheet to the tub, after spraypainting some texture onto it.

2) Screwed in brackets to hold up the next shelf.

3) Screwed handles onto the next metal shelfy tray bit?

Out of interest, is the intention to use the space on top of the shelf/below the lid for troops?

Yep. That is 100% what I did. The 2 part epoxy I had didn't hold the sheet down so I had to screw it in the corners.

I may have enough height for Hammerheads (its a good 4 inches)...haven't tried one yet.

But yes, the original thought is for battle suits, kroot, firewarriors, etc.

I'm pretty sure I have that exact box for my terrain.
