So here we go!
Bought a Bjorn and have loads of spare bits, enough to make a Murderfang if I can get a dreadnought body. Found this guy nice an cheap on eBay and looking to give it a new lease of life, but by the emperor it’s not easy!
The thickness of the red undercoat is terrifying!!

Don't give up! I have saved SoB's that needed five different dips in the "green" bath, plus scrubbing. I will admit they were metal so i could use more than a toothbrush on them (I have a dremel brush attachment...)
Love a conversion, so hoping you share what you manage!

What are you using to remove the paint?
When I bought my death company (2nd ed metal) they where painted in enamels (shudder) and they stunk, I left them to sit in a bath of methylated spirits and it all peeled off like a second skin (the chaos gods would have been proud)

If it's old and metal you can use...extremely potent chemicals on it. Obviously be careful, but there are loads of options from over cleaner, to automotive brake fluid, to normal nail polish remover, to industrial paint stripper...etc.

Sadly not metal- I’ve been soaking it in meths all day, and I’m pretty happy with the result!
The standard dread model is apparently slightly different from the space wolf venerable dread, so there’s some green stuff going to be required for the gaps...

Ah, okay. I didn't notice it was the plastic Bjorn (there was an old metal one). Nevermind!

Looking good. Magnetised arms for options?

They will be. I’ve actually ended up with two Bjorn packs and this guy, so I have more than enough prices to make a Bjorn, a Murderfang AND a standard venerable- with lots of interchangeable loadouts.

Nice.
FYI there is a whole model rescue thread so add your results there as well to etch the beauty of what you have done into the annals of dakka history
