Hi all as the title says this is my finished Gravis Armor Captain. He is painted in a homebrew scheme.

Looks good. Armor and the wing symbols both have good contrast going, though some edge highlights on the upper side of the plates might help define them and help them pop more. Some of the metallics, especially on the bolter look a little flat, but could be the lighting. Once he's based up, he'll be a nice looking leader for your force.

One thing I’ve heard suggested for that model, and agree with, is to do something to the helm. It kind of gets lost in the cowl.

I might have done the iron halo in a brighter color, either gold, or a shinier silver.

But excellent work! Those are just personal taste level nit-picks.

Need to finish that base!

Aside from that my suggestion would be that it needs more contrast. Pick out some of the edges of the metallics, an hit the upper edges of the white heraldry with pure white to lighten it up after the wash.

In time you'd do well to work on bringing up your layers on the actual armour itself also as it's quite flat currently. The Red on the cloak looks like it's been layered up through a highlight, but this could possibly be the photo? If not then kudos, try and apply that to the armour too.

As for the armor looking flat it’s contrast paint so I’ll highlight some of the key areas

And the cloak I watch WarhammerTV to see how they did it and copied them lol
