Hello. So first of all, are you familiar with the idea of shading and highlighting miniatures? For Space Marines a wash and an edge highlight work really well.
Your work is quite neat, however the paint does not seem to have gone on smoothly. Are you painting straight from the bottle or are you thinning your paints with a little water or medium before applying them to the model? What kind of paint are you using - GW, Vallejo... ?

Yes I am thinning my paints, I did ask a question on washes earlier to see if i can make it look a bit better.
Also for highlighting, what would be my best option? Mix macragge blue and white or buy a completely different colour?

Hi there, welcome to the hobby! First off it looks great, keep at it. I would say if you haven't got the paints to begin with and want to try highlighting, try mixing in a bit of white into the blue using a palette however, having different shades of various colours will make life easier in the long run so it is worth investing in at some point imo. As you've probably heard over and over, thin your paints, check out any tutorials you can on Youtube or even just use your search engine, there are so many good ones out there.
Think about what you really want to achieve, do you want fairly decent minis that are good to look at and/or play games with but don't take forever to paint? Then I would recommend the new contrast paints by games workshop. If you just want to get better, then learn to be patient, push yourself, experiment, take your time and with a lot practice and a lot of time spent you will get better. Most importantly have fun, try new things and enjoy yourself!

Thanks Tetsuijin for the kind words. Just trying to make it look half decent for the tabletop. I do feel I am getting better, but it really helps to have nice people to just ask help from.

One can see that your paint is not thin enough yet. You want it milky and you do not want it to cover other colours with a single coat. in addition to that you probably need to expand your choice of colours. you seem to only have a handfull. As a beginner I cannot stress enough how important nuln oil and agrax earthshade are. Smothering your model with one of them just as it is right now while bring in a lot of depth.

Hello! I didn't read the other replies here, but here's my advice. I'm not an expert or anything, but what I recommend is to
1 - thin your paints
2 - learn some simple techniques that really can go a long way as a beginner painter, Washing with Citadel Shades and Drybrushing. You can find tutorials for each online
3 - Also a big thing, many thin coats instead of 1 thick coat.
I will say this mini of yours does look quite a bit better than my first one
