Hello everyone ! I wanted to share with you a couple of pictures related to my minis and sceneries for the game Khârns-Âges, from the french editor TGCM. These are 54mm miniatures, and the game itself is a skirmish played on a small 60cmx60cm board. The sceneries are very important in the game as oyu can interact with it in many ways - climbing, hiding, falling & pushing, smashing a foe in a wall...
My main tribe is made of Fangs. Their gameplay is quite particular, they are the glass cannon of the game. High mobility, good magic, high damage output for the assassins, but very, very fragiles. Oh, fluff-wise, the Fangs are necrophagous hyenas led by matriarchs, where the males are considered as less than useful (minions) until they manage to kill a real prey, in which case they have the choice between becoming an Assassin or a reproducer.
I've already painted my main tribe (good pics incoming, as soon I have the time !!) but I am now working on my Board. Because most of my 28mm stuff is too small for this 54mm game. However, I've found a couple of interesting thing to work with.

Nice work on the themed terrain. And I still dig those models! Laughing at the idea of a halberd assassin too.

Thanks for your enthusiasm !
I've been able to make some progress on my sceneries. I've primed the Fang's lair (no pic here, they are just black), and they are waiting for me to paint them), but I've built my 10 Market stalls ! There is a scenario in Khârn-Âges that consist of 2 bands that are fighting each other in a Marketplace. One of them are the thieves, the other are the guards. The thieves have to steal as many goods as possible, the guards need to stop them. However, they can't directly fight each other right from the start ! The fight only start when the guards were able to catch the thieves during the theft. Basically, the beginning of the scenario don't require strenghth, but rely on intelligence & agility...
I wanted my Stall to block Line of sight, and also to be sturdy enough so that a mini could climb on top. Height is important for the game, as said earlier.
The size of the market stalls are the one of a Magic Card - the height differs, as there are multiples races with different sizes. A Kherops (Rhino) is far bigger than a Fang minion, so a Kherops merchant would have a bigger Stall ! I still have to finish the details (need some potions for 2 stalls), but there is already one butcher/hunter stall, one weapon seller, 2 "common goods" seller, 1 "rare goods" and 1 "pistols" seller. Will add 2 "alchemist" stall, and will need to find idea/bitz for the last one.
Of course, these are yet to be painted !
Oh, and since we will host a tournament in France, I will need to create a second marketplace…So if you have ideas/comments, I'm all ears !
PS : Any idea why some pictures are automatically put in a different orientation ? They are ok when I upload them

Last friday, my Fang tribe fought the Black Guild, led by Matthys !
The Fangs don't crave for gold. They are thieves, but consider that fresh food is far more valuable than silver. But there is another resources that is almost sacred for the hyenas : bones. The Fangs use the bones of powerful creatures for the power that they contain. They use it to predict the future, to create powerful poison, dreadful illusion, and all kind of sorcery. So when they discovered than one of the Black Guild's camp was built on a former boneyard, they didn't wait before attacking it. They didn't know that Matthys, one of the most famous Black Guild leader, was visiting the campsite - but it was too late anyway.
In this scenario, each players need to find bones, buried in the earth. They have to look for clues then dig. The playable area is divided in 9 squares, each one of them containing 10 bones. One of the player is the defend, and start right in the middle, but with 2 bones in its pocket. The other one will be attacking and can start in any corner (he needs to split his force in at least 2 corners).
Infortuntaly, the Black Guild tried to split its forces, trying to lure the Fangs in the higher platforms - a fight that the Fangs denied, focusing all their attacks on the 2 mercenaries on the ground. At the end, no Fangs were killed (but 2 of them were barely escaping alive), while 2 black guild members remained on the ground. The Fangs were able to escape with more bones than their opponents, and therefore won the game !
PS : the black guild members were painted by my friend
