Subject: Using ogryn bodies for Orks?

I was thinking of that the ogryn models have enough bulk to potentially be used for orks. But I've never seen the models in person and am unsure of their size. Would ogryns be a similar size to the warboss models or are they better suited for ork nobs?

I've gone the other way, because Nobz are so much cheaper than Ogryns. I had all the bits I needed left over from my Bullgryn box. I used Nob bodies and arms with Ogryn heads, hands, guns, and shoulder pads. You can see images on pages 8 and 11 of my P&M blog... the scale isn't a good match, but close enough. I'd say the Ogryn/Bullgryn box would give you some fun conversion options for bigger bodied Orks, but you'll break the bank doing too many that way. Ogryns are $45 for 3 last I checked.

I'm just looking for a way to make a unique warboss. Something that looks a kommando boss nob that has grown into a warboss. And if they're closer to nobs in size, then I could make a few unique nobs. Not looking for a whole army, just some interesting characters.

I have a picture of a plastic Ogryn next to a Cadian, if that helps:

I used a metal ogryn body for an ork warboss. It's certainly large enough and bulky enough, though the way they carry themselves doesnt fully look right for an Ork, I'm talking posture here. Orks are hunched over and very slack and lazy looking where as Ogryns stand more erect. You'll need to use some puddy or sculpy to fill in many areas, for example where the head goes for an Ork is more on the top of the chest where Ogryns heads are up on a neck, little things like that. Here's mine to show you, it does work and is rather imposing but it does take some work

Here's a boss made out of an ogryn. I did make him a little taller with plasticard.
