Hi all,

Recently getting back into the hobby and thought I'd post some pics of my first attempts painting chaos space Marines. Really enjoyed painting them although it has taken some time, and I have 3 left to finish! I'd would be great to get some feedback on how they can be improved.

Cheers!

They look pretty good!
It looks like your metallics are a bit patchy in some places and the black underneath is showing. I think you've missed a few mold lines on guns and some of the legs, and you should think about drilling out the barrels on your next models.

Great feedback!

I found it quite hard applying the metallics as they didn’t run as smooth as other paints. I also didn’t want to water them down but maybe it’s best to do a couple of coats?

Also, great thought about drilling out gun barrels, i didn’t think of that but will be sure to do it on the next models.

I find it helps to add a bit of water to your metallics - less than you would for a non-metallic paint, though.

Models look great.
Metals look good to me.
Personally I do most metals by drybrushing necron compound over black, and then add thin layers of gold, brazz or whatever you like.
