I don't have any unbuilt/unpainted minis. I needed a Predator for my army. I couldn't find a reasonably priced sprue online. I have a truckload of cardboard at home and lots of time on my hands.

So...I decided to start a project to build my own (I've made enough terrain, after all)!

Love a challenge project! Not sure masking tape has the lasting power though...

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

Fair point. Will be painting over it, though. Might strengthen with PVA before doing so. Just needed something to hold it all together to start off with.

Will keep you posted on how it goes!

Are you following a particular pattern, going from diagrams?

I also have some doubts about that masking tape...
Check out the papercraft model, you can still find it on internet, you can use it at least as as a blueprints for your project, but after assembling straight out of paper it looks really good.

I'd definitely get rid of any masking tape before going any further...Masking tape ages very poorly and turns brittle with no adhesiveness at all.

Or... cover it with a sealant, like a thick varnish or thinned wood glue.

I've had masking tape come up from under the paint after a year or so. Hasn't been a problem so long as there's a surface adherent to keep everything together.

What I would be concerned about is ridges on flat surfaces. There's no good way to sand masking tape.

Thanks for all the tips. I gave up on this and gave in to buying a Baal Predator from eBay!
