Hello everyone!

I’m trying to come up with colour scheme for my Crimson Fists Killteam. I tried to go a step beyond classic edge highlighting to make the mini pop more. The effect looks good up close but from farther away the edge highlighted marines look actually better (as in the details are more recognisable). I guess the answer is more contrast... easier said than done
Also not quite happy with the “alien world” base yet (but I think the colours I chose are a good contrast to the mini).
I also want to improve on free handing the chapter symbol.
Constructive Criticism is very welcome!

I like the dark blue, but I think a brighter "crimson" would be more attention-grabbing and help the mini pop a bit more.

That's a really well freehanded chapter logo.

Everything is good about this miniature except the highlights are too thick. I mean for a space marine anyway. I bet you could paint most things to a high level and this is obviously your style but with space marines it doesn't work you need to be neater. Just spend more time making the highlights razor sharp and thin, hold your breath, paint slowly, do everything you need to, you're deffo capable. Make those layers nice and thin too and you'll be on to a winner. Nothing wrong with it otherwise I like a muted red personally.
