This looks really nice. But I don’t want to pay 10$ in shipping for this product? Does anyone know what this is exactly? Some kind of preserved moss? Or what could be used as an alternative. Thanks.

I forget what it's called but you can find it at craft stores. Some sort of moss.

That looks like the preserved moss you can find at Hobby Lobby or Michaels in the flower and shrub sections. Generally used in the baskets. I bought some sold in bags a long time ago.
Found it!
My bag says:
The Moss Collection: Preserved Moss
The back is labeled Mood Moss, 5$. Definately from Hobby Lobby.

I have to believe it can be found at any floral store.

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage. |

Thanks, I’m gonna check those stores... could probably get a way better deal. And how do you seal it? Matt coat, pva?

In my experience, Moss doesn’t last long on model bases... it doesn’t even last long on terrain!
If you’re planning on using the models in games, be warned that it’s going to suffer battle damage, and leave mossy bits go-dam everywhere.

Yes Id say HobbyLobby for sure!

If you dont live in the desert, there should be plenty of mosses on the trees at camp-sights and parks. Next time you are out camping, look for it while avoiding poison oaks and such
Because on one side you can find some sticks and cut them your self, or just buy a bag of sticks - same goes for mosses.

If you live in the desert, then get your hands on old dried up sage brush shrubs and roots! Absolutely perfect for terrain
If you live in the city, I am sorry.
