Found this Oldhammer metal model from 1997, one of two surviving models from my first run of Warhammering. It’s fairly chipped and I had to clean a ton of dust from it. I was thinking of stripping and repainting it but a part of me also feels I should save it as it is to remind myself of the good old days. I open it up to Dakka - what do you think?

I think it’s important to keep at least a few early works on the shelf, to remind us how far we have come.

Ride on forever on the goblin green flocked base!

Repaint. I love old models done with the newer less cartoons aesthetic. However if you're new to painting(?) you may want to develop your skills some first, obviously I don't know what level you're at...

I've always kept a few of my older paint jobs around - especially on OLD sculpts because tbh a good paint job can only do so much for that low level of detail anyway but - there's also something really satisfying about stripping older stuff and bringing them WAY UP in quality.

When I do this from time to time, it feels like even in the first few steps it ALREADY looks better than before.

I say keep him as he is, a legacy model for you. If anything, just touch him up. The base colors you have now can be worked with, you can start highlighting/fixing things and adding new detail (mainly on the weaponry/helm/cloth). Just freshen him up a bit, that's all.
