A lot of firsts with this one. First time painting LOTR miniatures (aren't they SMALL?), first time using a magnifying glass (really liking it and getting better and better and getting the brush to land precisely where I want) and also first time trying an indoor, dungeon-like paving basing - using Milliput. Curious what you'll think....

Awesome job!

Fantastic job on the bases - they look great!

Extra kudos for using a magnifier and actually being able to hit the model with the brush!

I can't get on with using a fixed glass, and have taken to using a cheap (£1) pair of no-prescription max-strength reading glasses, which work great until I forget I'm wearing them and try to get up from my desk - chaos then ensues...

Thanks so much. Looking at the photos now they seem a lot more scratchy than they do in real life and the base also a lot more uneven. I guess the camera is very unforgiving. I've looked at your profile and the things you've painted and they are amazing - the Space Wolf and the Harlequins - really fantastic. That's the level I'm trying to get to.

Wow, but they are miniscule!

I think you did a great job with them. Cameras will always show the little details that get missed or are slightly off, but that's ok.

I think that you should be proud of these little goblins.

That's very kind, but remember that Space Marines are HUGE compared to your goblins, so I had it very easy compared to you - hell, I came close to using a paint-roller at times!.

Thanks! I am quite proud of them. Not at the standard I want to be yet but getting better & having fun and if the trying to improve is part of the fun.

That's true. But I've also painted a couple of marines too (old ones from the 1990s so a bit smaller than the new ones but still bigger than the goblins) and they also weren't as good as yours!
