My 30k Luna Wolf Army project !

I'll start with the drop pods, since it's a drop pod assault army. I started in Oct/Nov last year so a bit of a back log of progress to catch up.

Between last picture and today I have been building marines.

I've put together 2 x 10 tactical squads with chain bayonets.
1 sergeant has the space wolf axe and the chain bayonet as I like the look of it. I do have the rules, haven't played yet or know how effective or if even possible the layout is, I figure I can go power axe / sons of horus specialist axe and bolter or chain bayonet.
1 sergeant has the power fist and chain bayonet, same deal as above... I like how menacing he looks. I've also given him the space wolf bare head. I want to get my money's worth out of the space wolf accessory sprue purchase.

I'm using the MKiii Traitor champion as my praetor. I wanted an earlier crusade era Luna Wolf army, I'm not sure if mkiii fits in that time line but that's the armour mk i'll settle for as it is in plastic. So his paragon blade will be of the chain variant. Space wolf sprue was the closest thing I could find and was the reason I got the sprue. I cut the hilt (sword handle) down about a mm, shaved and sanded the hand down as it wasn't a size match for the pistol hand. The plastic hand is still larger than the resin but its similar and the plastic hand is hidden mostly by the cape anyway. I cut the wolf skull and put a triangle for decoration, carved from a sprue piece and glued it on there. I want to put the wolf head on him. I've been watching Ahsoka Tano and I liked the guilded night trooper general. I figure I'll paint the head bronze and go with that. He'll be my Maral Lupus equivalent. (I beleive he would of died by by the time mkiii is developed?).

Tragedy - Should pads chipped from the FW sprue. Was able to repair with greenstuff.

Double tragedy, my son felt the need to poke the talon after I washed the resin. It broke!!! Argh!!!

I super glued the talon back together and hopefully it holds. Due to the placement I had to push the arm out a little and gap filled it with green stuff.

I felt the need to cut out the elbow of the old V3.5 Chaos space marine power fist and put a mkiii elbow in there. I'll greenstuff fill the gaps and cabling another time.

Love me some Luna Wolves, and the paint on the pods looks great. Awaiting!

I've been away for a family getaway so no posts for a little while. Back now. So here's an update.

Primed with Vallejo Black and base coated the marines thinned tamiya XF2 white via an airbrush.

Yee boii, we need more OG Legion.

OK been a few days. I've since put some colour, weatherwood and attempted to do some shading.

It looks better in real life, I couldn't capture the shading in the photograph's, perhaps I've done a not so great job haha.

Two updates in one day!

I managed to varnish the troops and started painting the capes. Hero's wear capes!

Sorry, I don't know why the photos are loading sideways? They are correct on phone and on file prior to loading the attachment.

The long process of filling in the black begins. I wish there was a quicker way.
