TMP just had an article on using model train O scale stuff for 28mm gaming: http://theminiaturespage.com/news/612057/ some more buildings are here: http://www.trainworld.com/bachmann/bachmann_o%20.htm Anyone else used them? They seem to work. and would be a boon to cityfighters. They're pretty cheap.

O scale is much closer, HO is almost Epic scale.
The figs used in the articles are old copplestone sculpts, closer to 25mm, so yeah, maybe too small for GW.

O scale is right at 1/48 scale GW is right around 1/43 scale. It works quite well I had an O scale radio tower that was perfect for 40K. I may pick up that church and log cabin set for Fantasy.

O scale and O27 scale are basically Lionel and American Flyer train set scales. I used some of my old Lionel train accessories from my days of mis-spent youth in a necromunda campaign. For terrain and it worked really well. not perfect, but really well. I even did an ash wastes scenario towards the end there where I got out my old engine and a few flatcars and we did a rolling train heist scenario. now that was a blast!

hehe, sorry about that, didnt even pay attention to the date...was just doing a search on "scale" to see what everyone thought the closest scale to GW 28mm scale was and this article caught my attention since I have over 30 years experience with O and O27 scale.
My apologies to the haters of the dreaded necro-thread.
