I believe it's time to revitalize this thread. It's been dead for way too long...

There going to be plenty off updates for some time; mostly WIPs, that been on my table for God knows how long, but I brought something fresh too.

And let's start with it, shall we?

I had no practice with sculpting for more than half a year, so I decided to warm up a little before going back to my unfinished projects. And there was that brilliant Nickelodeon TMNT reset I swallowed In several nights, overflowed with inspiration, nostalgia and motivation.

Sooo... I don't really think that what you're going to see below need any special introduction Just enjoy the WIP teaser. It's 26mm from feet to the top btw.

AND don't forget to turn this tune on while watching

Cheers!

yeeeehhhaaaa!! turtle power!

how many of the turtles do you inted to do? the full team`i like that immensly...i am an old time fan of the show...you sure know there has to be pizza eventually down that line?

also... great capture of the look i have to say... the recent relaunch is a more juvenile looking compared to the more built and stocky look of the earlier tv show look... and you captured the new one very good!

and good to see you back in the saddle again!

Yes, your back and working great to see, OK not what I was expecting to see but cool in its own right.

As Vik mentioned the earlier versions were the build I was used to seeing, but this matches up well with the new incarnations.

I like the kneepads especially might borrow that set up myself now must go eat pizza

Great to have you back Storag

Thank you my friends! I missed you and this little asylum

Vik,
as much as I would love to make all the green team, I must say: "not today"... Or we'll never gonna see tha Aztec or Synapse set finished I started him mainly because of his shape which is perfect to hone one's skills at sculptin basic geometrical forms and making them slick. And I belive it worked just fine - it's really a much cleaner work than before and the first real head I've made! Even if it's a mutant turtle head it's still 4mm high

LDD,
be patient pal! You'll see plenty of more conventional stuff soon enough

Starting with this!

His name is Da Cheepa. He's da loota. He likes no one (exept mr.Pinky, but that's later) and no one likes him. He loots. He has many bags to store da loot.

And guys, we heard that you like minis, so we decided to add a mini to this mini so you can admire a mini while admiring a mini
Behold! Mr. Pinky! A teddy bear of choice and Cheepa's only friend.

Credit for paintjob and that little fella goes to Ish so make sure to let him know if you liked it or he'll cry me a river

Cya!

The green one

Definitely the green that has a way with machines If you know what I mean

And as promised - more updates!

This time it'll be the Astropunk project sketches I told Vik about before. Those are the concepts of alien gear Ish offered me and I'm really interested to hear what you have to say about them and any possible suggestions too.

For some strange reason I keep thinking of the minions from Despicable me 2 I like 1st and 2nd guys look very alien and the collars I think are great.

The third guy is hilarious and the hand signal is very Spock, however there is a strange undertone of SM due to his outfit LOL " Bring me the Gimp "

The reason is quite obvious - Ish made them look that way. The real figures have different proportions and look less minionish. I want them to be funny but wierd-funny, not childish.
Thanks for your opinion

i like the way the lines flow... i wish i could sketch like that!...

and i too have to say the sketches have a verrry strong minion vibe to them...

first one i think has the greatest potential...i can“t really understand the thing with the arrow design tho... the arrow as such is a very human thing...no telling of other lifeforms would have such early weaponsystem... tho... if they had only three fingers... the triangle would probably have a certain appeal to them...

the second looks or rather reminds me due to the helmet like that alien smurf

and a cross with cap america...

but the third one is in my view a bit OOT... those two arrows.... nope... not my stlye...

He looks like Mikey to me.

Storag, amazing looking stuff! Great Painting Ish!

I know something about being out of it for a while, still trying to get things in order....and failing. But I make some progress every now and then.

Good luck! I like the new sketches!

@ Vik
The alien smurf looks cool
About the arrow; I think that using straight geometrical shapes in their gear would nicely balance their smooth body forms and contrast with human bodysuites.

@ Zogg

If you look several pages back you'll find out that that's exactly the plan

@ RSJake

Yoohoo! Jake, welcome back mate!

That's Donny. In this new show they all have distinct body types and shell, head shapes.

Thanks for the kind words, good to have you here

ah... good point ... it has to be seen in sculpted from tho... sketches are the cheques the sculpted model has to pay for

Hope to pay it in full

And while I'm sculpting this and that...
Today a had some time at work and tried to imagine a face of the Aztec Marine (tm) BTW he got a name and a bit of a back story:

Name Itzcoatl, which means Obsidian Serpent. A fitting name a think for an Arch-Librarian, religiuos leader and one of the oldest members of the chapter. He was the one to hear the Emperors call and oversaw the creation of the Sacrificer device from which the chapter received it's new name.

So he's old, even by SM standards. Wise, devout and utterly merciless. And even if SM's bodies do not age like normal man, thier faces, I belive, must bear witness to their age and experience - that's what I tried to capture with my poor drawing skills =\

Speak your mind my friends!
