Great to see that some people have finished, Nice work ScootyPuffJunior she looks suitability battered.

Sorry haven't posted much in the last 2 weeks, I just seem to have been constantly Ill and/or busy. My daughter keeps giving me colds, little terror

Progress is slow but at least there is some on mine

Currently trying to work out how to do all the weather and dirt and grim that goes on it, also just noticed that I used too much glue to the top of the stand and some has run down the clear plastic so will probably cloud when it dries which is annoying.

I might jump in late this month, but I'm not sure yet. At least I have spent this month painting stuff, just nothing eligible for the theme.

ah what the heck, I'm going to throw some suggestions out for a change

"Fire!" - either something to do with literal fire (magic, flamers, flamey stuff of some nature) or shooting (line infantry, artillery, etc etc...) - that seems fairly flexible?

"Cannon Fodder" - any kinda low-ranking goons that spend a good portion of their time on the front lines getting shot at

"Veteran" - someone/a squad who's been around for a long time, with a lot of valuable wisdom and experience

"Leader" - pretty much any authority figure, be it the leader of a squad of grunts, all the way to a leader of a massive army, or even an entire civilisation

righto, think that's about all I've got...any of them would suit me, and they seem fairly open to interpretation

I like the idea of a "saints and sinners" theme, also could be cool to see "bodyguards": any sort of "command squad" unit,
"Vehicular manslaughter": gory tanks, grime, blood, dirt etc., a "counts as" one could be cool: anything painted/modded up to count as something completely different than the original model, and finally a "renegades" theme could work well: any model or unit of one faction painted to be renegades whether it be by utilizing weapons or gear from factions they loathe/hate or supposed devout servants of one faction serving another!

I've got a few suggestions for the next competition.

The others.

First contact.

Crikey, only a week to go and I haven't finished the sculpting on my entry yet! :(

As for next month's theme, I think Saints and Sinners could be a good shout... Vehicular Manslaughter would be great, not least because I have a pair of Chimeras in the works for my Guard army!

Fair enough, but the Rainbow Brigade just doesn't look the same when there is only five of them.

Just about done with my project here, just the purple and gun left! I'll give a couple themes down below

Uprising was a good one, again!

"Hold the Line". One perhaps dedicated to the Fall of Cadia, but can be used in other situations.

"Petrol Heads". All sorts of small, fast vehicles! Not really including tanks, mostly bikes, trucks, and i suppose some hover vehicles. Extra points for da red wunz!

Some category ideas...

"Titans among us..." --- simply put, the biggest model you have unbuilt.

"A helping hand." --- paint something for a friend/buddy/loved one (for their army, not yours)

"Deep Salvage" --- Buy, recover and repaint an eBay item or used item which has been marred/poorly paint, etc...heck maybe something you painted five years ago and want to tackle again.

Salvaging, stripping and repainting is all I've been doing for the last year, so this works well for me!

Great entries so far. With the iconic x-wing I can see midget getting another top 3 spot and I love the blue gretchin too, I wish I was brave enough to do something like this =)

Excellent suggestions I would love anyone of these.

Can I suggest 'Freehand' as a theme. I avoid doing freehand wherever possible so it would be nice to be 'forced' to practice it =)

My entry/proof!

Kind of pissed... I don't know why I didn't think it was the 'Bones' version of this model... I guess I'm so used to working with the metal versions of their line... there's a big crease on the face and it looks like its not 'lined' up or something... like his face is shifting on one side...

Didn't think I'd be entering, but here is Captain Damiano, of Warmachine Mercenaries.

Messhallcook...yeah the Bones material is pretty terrible for normal 28mm scale figures. I find it brilliant with larger creatures, etc...but it really fails on the smaller stuff. Good luck!

righto, got my funky old Rogue Trader-era dreadnought done...he's going to be a proud part of my salamanders army that I'll be working on this year, which will also include a bunch of his old rogue trader "beakie" marine brothers

...the lava on the base did come out maybe a bit darker than I would've liked...but meh, that's probably just the coolness of the model cooling the lava down
