Ahh Vik..but Glaciers are unstoppable once set in motion

Yesterday's priority was cleaning the living room carpet in preparation for the new riveted, leather furniture we ordered, which will arrive today, then my RL responsibilities for the week will pretty much be met

well...isn´t it nice to see how much use one methaphor can have

and a riveted leather furniture? you going old empire style now? transfering even more residence time inside your actual home instead of your mancave then? i am shocked ... beside... rivetd furniture needs to be shown here ...not that this wasn´t already obligatory

Dear Vik, while my membership in this esteemed league has seen me stay in the novice category for some time now I still feel my passion gives me cause to bring that slight to your attention I fully understand the implied coolness of Rivets (for I am a riveteer) and how their addition to any model can inrease the level of detail and feel for any situation, BUT you cannot enlighten the unenlightened by keeping silent when it comes to the beauty and passion that is riveting! you are doing those that have no idea a disservice by not peaking their interest into rivets and the magical properties they contain! so, in saying that, I think we should all still be preaching the message of Rivets even when we as a collective know the medicinal and theraputic benefits of them!

Sincerely

Damo

Ladygeek agreed that the riveted couch and chair was most appropriate and needs posted absolutely!

My old couch is the ugliest couch ever spawned out of the 1980's!
In fact, it's so ugly, last night we carried it out to the street..and it's STILL THERE!!
But put an old Washing machine, or any scrap metal out there, and you can count down from 10 and someone usually stops and hauls it away.

well... i think i have talked myself into a rage here... it is bound to happen with a delicate theme like rivets... but i see we are actually on the same side here... so let the argueing stop and let the riveting commence...actually it has been way too long ago since i´ve riveted something... which might be a valid excuse for my temper tantrum the other moment

lol... i thought the "standing on the street" thing only aplied for big cities like new york und suchlike? i didn´t knew all americans are scavangers^^... tho... here in germany these kind of humans have the decency to only go about their business in the darkest of night^^

oh... you also need to add a before and after pic... for maximum effect...^^

Haha Rivets unite people, as well as steel plates... what can I say?

Well, I'm slightly dissapointed, as the Coffee Table we picked out specifically for it's LEGO-building usefulness had a broken locking mechanism, so we have to wait another week for a new one to be ordered

This is what SHOULD be in the room too.

But, we have Rivets!

All recline, and is the first NEW couch I've ever owned in my entire life!

The old FUGLY couch is still out by the street, now soaked with freezing rain -
And for those of you who were gonna ask about my background stuff

This one is zoomable

My $5000.00 Yamaha Piano I bought for $75 and rented a box truck to get it home for $30
It sat in a climate/humidity controlled Commercial basement for 25 years, barely used.

@Vik- i AM Old Empire bro

@Vik- i AM Old Empire bro

that was pretty clear to me when i saw your piano... sersiously... you are so out of depth of the stereotype of an american with that one...i am actually nonplussed!

you have in that zoomable pic a lennon/beatles shrine...spiced up with a lego VW van...(*drools*)
a ?micromachine? vader head? in your bookcase...

for my sins i can´t really tell for sure if it is a poster of elvis or the man in black johnny chash...(the latter gets full marks )

and that B-wing model would get my son into a full wolfy roar...(tax avery of course)...

beside... colonial comfyness and sobre colors are in secret my second choice for a living room...unfortunatly we have so little natrual light coming in that we couldn´t afford dark furniture...so instead we opted for pine wood wich is lotsa fairer in color...but lacks style of course in heaps

Haha The Vader head is a candy jar!
That's sort of Johnny Cash (Drawing of J. Phoenix movie poster from Walk the Line)
What stereotype?

well having a piano is sort of more than we often get to see what americans might be interested in... guitars are fine... but being interested in piano... that is old world kind of style...
and i thought this might be of the "walk the line" movie...^^

a candy jar! we don´t get these cool jars here... ours we have lying around are made to look like santa, a snowman or something more easter related... like beatles or bunnies...
