I was able to purchase a Crusader from my FLGS and just finished building it and it has been by far the most enjoyable model to build that I have done in a long time. Cudos to Mark and all the work he has done.

I just finished building the Crusader yesterday. I am so impressed with the kit, the design, the thought put into it, the articulation. Hell, the sprue layout alone and the way the parts are snipped off leaving almost no exposed points of contact is sheer genius.

I can't wait to get painting this thing... Przemysław set the bar extremely high

I'm fine with the wait if the future releases are as good as Wave 1.

Have you seen the most recent renders of the APC? As much innate cool factor as huge mechs get, that APC is looking every bit as sweet and worth the wait.

I have confidence.

These kits are indeed pretty ace. I really hope that the runaway success of the Kickstarter opens the way for some serious expansion of Mark's business/products.

I've always maintained that the thing that sets GW apart from the pack, the reason that they're the 300-pound gorilla, is the high quality of their design. Design in both the sense of the aesthetic and the manufacture/execution. Mark's work is, in my opinion, the ONLY miniature line out there that meets GW in both of these respects. These kits are cool as heck, and the production quality on these sets is really phenomenal.

Moreover, Mark has priced them more reasonably than GW. Is $160 for a Khornemower too much to stomach? Then save yourself $40 or so and get a Leviathan - same basic scale but much better price.

I know that people are disappointed on the delay in later stages, and I am loathe to make Mark speculate as to the future, but do you have any idea if the success of this will enable further expansion? Or will you not really be able to say until you close the book on this KS?

Either way, keep up the good work. You've built a rabid following, and we all hope to expand this by voting with our hard earned $ !!

Agreed. I have Warzone plastics, Void plastics, EM4 plastics, you name it and so far Dreamforge is the only one that matches and exceeds in many ways GW. I thought Mantic could do it, but so far I don't think they've hit the design/manufacture sweetspot. If I were a GW high-up I'd try vigorously to headhunt Mark for the team. The only other company that has plastic kits in the realm of GW and now DF are the Perrys (I drooled over the Zouaves and Hussars) and they design their figures pretty traditionally with 3-ups. Not to say that's better or worse but its a different skill set. The whole time I was snipping and gluing the Crusader I was praising the design and skill it takes to visualize something this complex virtually in 3D. There's so many little things, invisible upon completion, that make that thing work and fit together... stunning!

Project Update #101: Mortis and 15mm Crusader ending production run
Posted by Mark Mondragon
The Moris has completed its production run, the 15mm Crusader is in the final stage of its production run, these will be loaded on a container heading to the US in the very near future.

The additional weapons arms are having the molds cut now and we should be done with the test shots and into production (fingers crossed) around Aug 7th. They will then be flown to the US, likely arriving in Utah before the Mortis and 15mm Crusader make land fall.

I have some Skype screen grabs and a few impromptu shots of the 15mm Crusader to share with you. These are some pretty rough shots, I will try and get you some nice images as soon as I can. There are some very minor differences between the 15mm and 28mm Crusader builds, but nothing that affects its appearance or posabuility, just some simplification of how some of the smaller parts go together.

I will post again when I get more shots or when they tell me that the container has shipped.

NOTE: This is a good time to update your address with Wagames Factory if you have moved!!!!!

Email: dfg@wargamesfactory.net with your old and new information and they will make the needed changes to your account.

Great to hear about the timeframe (August arrival in the US expected) so that Wave 2 is getting very close! And Wave 3 can roll on, which is where most of my items are

Since I doubt they'll get here in time for me to finish them for Nova I'm less excited than I could be but I'm still glad to finally see a timeline on them.

Also do the baby ones come with the hi-tech looking power plant. It's been so long I forgot.

I like the pictures of the pallets full of Dreamforge awesomey goodness. And, even with all the money I spent on the project already, I'll be picking up three of the mine Crusaders when they hit retail.

I didn't order the Mortis originally, but will buy one when they hit retail. Funny thing was I was looking at ordering another crusader when my email hit me about the Mortis. What I'm waiting for are the extra arms though.

I believe they do... afaik they are basically identical to their larger cousins.

However, if they don't come with them, PM me as I have some for the 5 inch tall resin Crusaders that might work to convert them with if you don't like the smokestacks.

Just got the email myself. All I can say is AWESOME! Cannot wait. And I love that they're able to send the weapon arms via air, so the overall shipment gets out that little bit sooner.

I'll have to go look up how many of the Minis I ordered. I'm sure I ordered at least 3, to cover their use as DreadKnights.

Edit: I just checked, and yes, the mini levis do come with the capacitor coolers to go in place of the oil stacks on the back. Also, the pointy Excalibur sword. But not the LH Vulkan (that was the bit that got me all kinds of screwed up when I was calculating what extra weapon arms I'd need for the minis, and still didn't get right in the final order...oops).

Edit...again:

Crap in a hat. I thought, when I closed out my duty email upon AF retirement, that I'd sent everything important to my civilian email account. But I don't have the password for my second WGF account (some money suddenly became available after I'd done my pledges from the KS, and Mark and WGF opened the pledge manager up to anyone who wanted in after the KS closed, so I made a second account), so I have no clear idea of what all I added. Going to have to rummage to see if I can find any printouts I may have done back at the time.

Shade1313, I was able to adjust the 15mm arm quantities on my order, as these are Wave 3 items. If you're referring to the full-size arms, though, it's probably too late for that since they will tooled imminently.

Also, I did this by emailing WGF and referencing my order number, so I did not need a log-in, just my order number / order confirmation email.

Not sure I've got that info, either. I'll try emailing them, but since I can't email from that account anymore...

Hopefully the fact that both accounts ship to the same name and address will help. And yes, the major not-thinking-straight with regard to weapon arms was with the 15mm arms.

Ok, maybe a silly question, but, are the two barrells on the chest supposed to be weapons?

I have build my crusader but still not sure what exactly they are supposed to be.

Six, those are point defense anti-infantry or light armor weapons.

Think 25-30 mm APHE rounds or something. Or 40MM auto grenade launchers.

Or in Higher tech games, short range lasers/plasma weapons.

They're guns. The fluff for the Mortis mentions them specifically, and if you look in the barrel, they have the same faux rifling that the Vulkan barrels have.

Good to see that progress is being made, and the pallets full of Mortii are quite lovely. So possibly delivered by late August to the US? It does scare me to think about Wave 3 though; that's a lot of kits to be tooled.

Also Hulksmash, I don't believe the 15mm versions had any freebies with them. My pledge email lists the stuff for the 28mm ones, but no mention of anything for the 15mm nor do I recall mention of them being made. Might've been an oversight on my part, but I wouldn't expect such things. I also notice I only have one 15mm Crusader...hmmm...I suppose this will make a retail purchase less troublesome than the 28mm one was...

Main KS. Scroll down to the 15mm levi section, and you'll see that the mini levis come with capacitor coolers and excalibur swords.

Yep. They're not actually "swirled", because that would play havoc with the molds, but they also don't need to be. Just enough to put an "exposed metal" highlight on so the lands can be noticed by the viewer.
