I have been in a real hobby/modeling funk for a while, but I was trying to find a way to make the 15mm leviathan look more like the knight (for the love o God I have no idea why ), I hint the biggest distinction between the two is the beetle shell back of the GW kit. With that in mind and he 28mm leviathan nearby.....

bottle caps were just going to be temporary placeholders, but I'm thinking of tying them on with string and adding little fake Titan feet to it.

OH MY I think we have our next release.

Any resemblance of this post to written English is purely coincidental.

I don't know if it's legal since it has multiple shoulder pads and those are copyrighted by GW.

I love this thread!

That Leviathan has better protected shoulders than a GW terminator...

After I made him it reminds me of the old space marine 'cobra' pattern terminator. I'd link a pic, but I'm on my iPhone at work.

Nothing official or semi-official (unless I missed it), so I'm just hoping it's before Christmas 2014. Anything else will be a pleasant surprise.

I think you should remove the shoulders from that conversion and replace them with an umbrella.

Oh, did we finally decide which of the two Leviathans is better to use for a Knight Proxy? I'd planned to use the 15mm ones as DreadKnights originally.

I suspect that the best solution is a 28mm Levi with conversion to make it a couple inches shorter. I'm just not sure how much of the spine you could reasonably take out and not have it start looking REALLY screwed up, so I suspect the ideal conversion would also involve heavy work to the legs.

Hm, that's an unacceptable solution for me. I'm not one of those "all your stuff is PERFECT, Mark" guys, but I do like the Leviathan design too much to feth with it in that way. I guess I'll just have some height variation in the different make and model of Knights on my Table. Like I already do with Rhinos and so forth.

Use the 28mm one. Let it loom imperiously over your opponent's Knight.

I'll likely be buying three GW Knights (who will sometimes square off with my two Levis and two Mortii.)

(and not from China).

One thing I do like about the knights, is that they seem to have an awesome decal sheet that will help you 40kify your levi's if that's your plan.

Use the 28 mm leviathans, I'd have to throat punch anyone trying to claim cover save for a knight. I would leave the leg armor off, as it gives the model more of a top heavy GW look. Also the Mortis is perfect especially to lend a helping hand(finger) to your opponent when he cries that you went the cheaper route.

With 4 Levis between the two stock kits, I should have a bit of room for variation, though I'm not fussed about adhering to the GW proportions for the Knights. It's not like GW has ever revised or retconned how their own designs look, is it? Nice finger-posing, btw.

You're right on the money there for the decals, Yonan.

Here's hoping some of those decals, even with just a couple removed, start appearing on ebay for reasonable prices.

Yeah you're not wrong about GW changing their own stuff. iirc, I've seen a side by side comparisonof the 28mm leviathan as a spot on size and very similar proportion for an early (armourcast? the third pic) warhound.

Frankly I may take one section of the spine of my 28mm Levi out. Not to make it shorter but to cover up more of the exposed middle.

But he will get used as a knight. I may buy 2 or 3 more to go with now.

There's also the full sheet, I guess. I can't remember the local AU price they're asking for it though. Yeah, the third pic is armorcast. I have one or two of those, somewhere. I just need to find them.

Have the 28mm one, but model it sitting in a deckchair just to emphasise how easy you think the battle will be

From the vic minis thread, a scale comparison of DFG to Vic to GW. I'll reiterate how I think Vic Arcadians as basic troops, Eisenkern Stormtroopers as elites and Valkir as heavy infantry would make an excellent army. The proportions and scale seems very compatible. DFG being a touch taller can be written off as the extra armour, or if nothing else it just helps them stand out a little from the (more expensive lol) regular troops. Both ranges having both male and female troops is going to be awesome. DFG providing APCs and medium/large walkers only makes it more awesome.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do Arcadians would be the basic infantry squad, Eisenkern for Stormtrooper types, and probably Valkir to count as Ogryns.. and lots of APCs

Eeeeeh, I like those Acadians, but their gear isn't doing it for me, if the DFG Black Widows are decent I'll probably throw even more money Mark's way, but honestly even my TGG aren't for 40k any more.

I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn

Looking good in my figure case >.>; I could probably make them work for Infinity without too much trouble.

I'm on the market for a new system. Mark's Iron Core has me holding out hope, for something new, crunchy and scifi to play, Workshop just keeps pushing me further and further away...

It doesn't help that I don't have an LGS or local play group at present, so I'm not playing much at all. I still like painting, I still like making a coherent, good looking force for the the table but getting down to the game is killing me at this point...
