Maybe we should start a thread in Misc Miniature Games for that sort of discussion?

This KS is primarily about miniatures (at least right now) after all.

There is a sad and lonely thread here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/575624.page he's like a droopy eyed puppy waiting in the window for it's owner to come home, all he wants is some love.

There is a dedicated email server on yahoogroups/mechafront which shares comments with everybody

You can also email comments to me or post on the facebook page. Public discussion is fine by me as it might generate additional ideas. The ramming rules are a bit overpowered ATM which will be addressed in the next update. Main thing the rules needs is more finalized point system and formatting/reorganization as it's a bit cluttered.

Also, $25 from the 9k stretch goal (along with the first BlackFrost mech) unlocking along with the 8k goals of cards!

And after that; heavy mechs!

Hmmm, I too am getting sucked in for more than I had intended. plastictrees snagged my 15mm mechs from me, so I'm all primed to go for 6mm, which is a more manageable scale for me at the moment. Just not sure how deep to go in... may have to sell something to go in for more.

Edit: Ah, willpower, where art thou? The 6mm stretch goals look great and I've tipped us over 9K. Fans of 15mm, you can thank me (hopefully we get the blackfrost unlocked in 6mm sometime soon, too... unless this goal unlocked it in both scales?)

Hooray 9k! Well done, RiTides!

Just like Dwarven Forge, it's time for us to do good works! (and horrible things to our wallets)!

I'm on so many mailing lists right now... ~75 at work, 5-6 more personal ones... plus all the non-list email.

There's a couple things I saw I'll bring up in that thread.

Thank you!

I love 6mm Mechs, but I have that covered with BT (and maybe, just maybe RoboTech someday). Mr. Paulson's 15mm mecha are true beauties at a very reasonable price. You may want to think hard about coming back to 15mm ...

You need more pictures in your updates John, show off some of that sweet sweet mecha art when stuff is unlocked.

Also, as a suggestion, it might help to include what the next stretch goals are in the updates.

The update before the Cougar unlocked noted that 3 more goals had shown up, but not what they were. Perhaps a teaser about the heavies not being too far off as a reminder as well. 13k for the Wolverine, I believe you mentioned earlier in the thread?

But I will say that I really like your approach to noting the next several goals in a row, rather than just the next 1 like so many campaigns do. Means that even when we tip the scale over one, we already know what the next goal in line is.

Just offering some suggestions along the way, as a fan of what you're doing in general and with the campaign in specific.

I asked if this had also unlocked the 6mm Blackfrost mech in the comments, and got this reply:

Creator Jon Paulson 19 minutes ago
I'm going to dangle the 6mm cougar in front of you just a bit longer, he'll need an unlock, but it's close. Update shortly.

Sounds good

If we get through the 6mm Quads this is going to be an expensive kickstarter for me.....

Also love the 6mm stretches and the availability of weapon packs for the 6mm models.

Are all the 6mm going to be in metal or resin? Just curious. Thanks!

Metal.
IMO the only downside...

Yes, I will say that the 15mm resin casts are absolutely Beautiful! But I can see why, given that the 6mm ones are the same number of pieces, it just isn't practical to do them in resin.

The fact that the 15mm ones are in resin is a big boost, though, and makes the choice between them very hard. I personally don't have anything in 6mm (no battletech, etc) but have loved seeing mechs in that size, so that's what has me going that route. That, and then I can get more of them!

I like to play 6mm games. And I still pull out GW's Epic every chance I get. the idea of basically having Demi-Legio's of "Titans" is to good to pass up. Especially since I've got a ton of infantry and 6mm tanks to go with them.

Oh, and I can get a lot more of them and they are easier to store. Plus I like 6mm terrain.

Metal is fine, i just would have preferred resin for the weight since I know Paulson Games casting quality in resin is superb even if he did put the shields I wanted to order a ton of back up but without the ability to buy them on his website

I did and once it opens it means more money going out for weapon packs for all my tiny mechs

Someone did point out in the comments the full packs in 15mm (3 light, 2 medium) get two copies of each SG and that's not noted for the 6mm. I hope that's the case there too. Especially since once we hit the medium and heavy for the new faction I'll be adding another full pack of the mechs in the 6mm so I have 3 full factions.

***EDIT***

And that's what I get for not keeping up with his comments on the kickstarter. This just got posted in regards to the SG stuff I just posted

Creator Jon Paulson 2 minutes ago
The micro armor stretch goals will mimic the larger 15mm tiers, I worded the pledge tiers differently, but when I post them it'll be clarified in the stretch goals themselves.

Yeah, I think that wording is for pledge levels including heavy mechs, and then quads if we get there. So, I think those pledge levels would open up at lower levels, too, once those mechs unlock.

Are the 6mm weapons magnet compatible / will there be magnets coming for them? I don't actually need magnets from you, but having them match a standard size magnet / be designed for it would be great. And if the weapon packs come with 2 sets of weapons as noted above, I'll probably be tempted to get a pack for each mech to arm them in any configuration.

Well sure, those obviously refer to pledge levels with heavies and quads. The question is, how many of what?

Also super important for 6mm backers:
Jon Paulson wrote:From here out each unlocked mecha class will also include the 6mm version.

Just my 2 cents here on the high dollar pledges: I am really down with idea of naming a pilot. But I don't want a pro-painted miniature. I'd much rather have more miniatures that I can paint.

Muwahahah! Yes

We'll just need the Blackfrost mech in 6mm before we get to the next ones, and then having them unlock simultaneously in both scales from now on is simple and much appreciated!

So I'm a little stupidly excited for this in 6mm.....My hobby budget is going to hate me.....

As noted in the comments, that is spicy as all get out, PG. Good show! Hopefully someone with the funding to spare jumps on one of those. Or, y'know, a couple.

And damned good news, both on the 6mm mech unlocks and the other odds and ends. Moreso the mirroring of the stretch goals. Getting extra weapon options would be awesome.

Though if we get up to BlackFrost Mediums at 6mm and no BF lights, I'm not sure how to play that out. 4 mediums and 4 lights, yikes, this could break $100 even remaining on the small scale. As I said before, I might need help (damned enablers that you all are :-P ).

... the 15mm and 6mm heavies will unlock simultaneously?

Yeah, we're in trouble.

Yeah. The "fortunate" thing for me is that no one around here is likely to pick the game up.
So I'll mostly have them for myself. But they're so pretty I can't help it.

Maybe I'll get two forces. But then why don't I do 28mm instead of 6? Because I could at least proxy stuff with battletech - plus all the btech terrain (buildings) I have.
But... resin.

Oh god - I need help.

Yeah, my friends think they look neat, but as the only backer in my crew, I'll probably just grab a small force per faction and have something small to throw down with a friend now and then. Be nice if someone else was in, but most of 'em are tapped out after a few expensive Kickstarters, and the dent in my wallet from Shadows of Brimstone is going to sting for a while yet.

Plus, y'know, like 3 more big expenses coming in the next 2-6 months.

Stupid financial responsibility... kinda... look, I'm trying here.

I want to use them alongside infantry and more conventional vehicles to really set off how impressive they are so it's definitely 15mm for me.
