caskuda out? Damn...

Fluff wise it makes sense to me not to have drop droops with HMGs, seems like they would have more mobile and light options.

I'm not a friend of squatting stuff. These changes don't affect me, but I don't like it at all. Well, probably some minor changes will affect me in the future (Paracommando HMG hasn't been discontinued yet, but I'm guessing he will be in the next batch).

I play Ariadna and I don't like them. I doubt I will be able to take an effective hacker for my force, yet I now will have to contend with hackers who can now attack my own guys without much recourse for me to take against them?

Lucky I play Merovingians, and I don't have many HI options to choose from, but it cheeses me off a bit that a force which is supposed to be basically unhackable (due to wearing Tesseum body armour) now is suddenly as vulnerable as factions whose dudes walk around in power armour suits.

I know it's likely to be part of a grander change to things, I just hope it doesn't make me want to tear my hair out because of it.

I'm still shocked this happened.

This is probably the first time I've been genuinely upset at something CB's done with INFINITY.

I'm finding it hard to worry about any of the changes simply because they have yet to lead me wrong. A bit blind maybe but I'm more than happy to be lead by the hand through the darkness of N3 transition. I'll get upset about something when I have something to be upset about.

Edit: Not to belittle how anyone else feels by the way. That's just my attitude towards it.

According to CB, the Exrah stuff is their absolute worst sellers and that is why they are cutting new support.

The Caskuda may just be 'discontinued' as its an AD HMG. For all we know, it'll be rereleased with a Spitfire or something. Let's not panic just yet. They're discontinuing a bunch of AD HMG Exrah along with it. It just so happens that the Exrah were all heavy into AD.

Perhaps they will get a visual rework and be rereleased soon with modern-friendly profiles. There is still plenty of time for resculpts and updates between N3 and Archeron Falls.

There is zero evidence that it's being discontinued because it's unpopular or a poor seller. That's nonsense.

I can understand not wanting to make new versions of something that sells poorly but its a shame that something as expensive as a TAG is now useless in game for some people.

I hope that's the case.

I love that model, and I love a lot of the Exrah line too.

I'm still a bit worried though as the Caskadu model is carrying anything that's readily identifiable as...anything anyway!

I got my Operation: Icestorm today! The rules are extremely basic it appears and the missions are designed to walk you through the core mechanics.... I am off to work where I will try and sneak some reading in

You have mercs, and if you play Mero you have Aguacil hackers

All I hear is just buthurt cry over how Ariadna is forced to think, now we pay from 20 to 50 points for dude you can laugh at....I wish I could laugh at those werewolves or 15 cammo markers.

I saw that photo of your dice collection Theo. Yes, you have dice. It's a good thing. The Icestorm dice have a faction logo for the number one, and they are kind of neat to have. Worth the wait. I'll still use my Game Science D20s most of the time though. I'm old school.

Use the caskuda as a cock-raicho (caskuda means cockroach in Galician. Or spell it cascuda.) All the other Exrah are proxies in N3. I'm surprised they did not get a legacy profile. Ah well. My HMG Ragik needs a new weapon too. Or, wait, the new Hassassin Spitfire looks amazingly like the old Hassassin HMG Demanding WYSIWYG in Infinity is kind of silly, IMHO.

At GenCon this year, the CB CEO, Fernando Liste, mentioned that CB has made one decision based (solely) on economics, and that was about the Exrah. We now know what that decision was.

Glad to see CB cutting the fat with a machete, not a scalpel. This had to be done. Despite their sudden popularity & tons of new players spending $$, CB is still a small company. Maintaining a bloated catalogue is not feasible. Besides, everyone likes buying their boxes & hates ponying up the $$ to buy blisters.

Exrah & Void/Vector operators were hideous models. Definitely some of the worst from the old guard. I hope the Chronotids are excised as well. They're not much to look at & need a resculpt. I liked the Caskuda, but the studio color scheme was ghastly. Angel Giraldez said he would never have chosen to paint it like a half boiled lobster, but that's what they wanted.

CA will have new broken units with lovely models to look forward to in N3. You're losing some fugly bug guys & getting sinister Tohaa & Umbra Legates, plus whatever diabolical new constructs are in store. The new line troops, Unidron Batroids, are especially scary since they'll have plasma rifles I believe. Shotty Template with ARM roll AND BTS roll? come on!

Acheron Falls is supposed to be heavily about the Combined Army invasion or something like that. The Exrah may get their comeback then.

I don't understand why the profiles are being removed altogether, but it may be because they're giving the Exrah their new identity in the book similar to how Morats, and Shavastii have their own innate racial rules when their sectorial's turn come around. Morats have had their time in the spotlight as of recently.

Exrah did have a special rule. In short they were rather frail units, but used very powerful weapons & abilities. Very potent, but brittle units.

Around here people are just going to proxy the Avatar or Raicho with a Cascuda. I have no problem with that at all. So at least it gets used.

Now I'm the proud owner of $150 dollars ($125 with discount) of Exrah models without profiles.
And I was going to order the second Caskuda tomorrow because the FLG got in two Icestorm boxes.

I suppose I shall do the same...
