BTW is anyone else getting antsy for a new abadon mini. They keep showing off some amazing art of him in the thumbnail and credits of every warhammer TV tutorial and there is no way it's on accident.

Not antsy exactly, but I do wish he'd been released with the first book as he's arguably the most important figure in the whole storyline. However it looks like the next entry will be Eldar centric. Either as a continuation from fall of Cadia or the Eldar POV leading up to the same end. Abbadon is probably being saved for a big return after recovering from his wounds.

He looks pretty good, but I just...can't take him seriously. It's the hair. I know, I know, it's "iconic" and they're definitely keeping it, it's just such a freaking silly feature to have this three foot tall pole of hair on top of his head. I just imagine that every doorway on his spaceship has to have a little notch at the top to allow him to walk through.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Don't you remember? He's little horus! He needs a 3 foot tall top knot so he can sit in the same chair. Lol

So...

...this has become something of a 'generic GW' News and Rumors thread.

This isn't something we normally see for GW stuff - usually each thing gets its own thread.

Is it time to re-name this one to something closer to what it is?

Or close it and let new topics appear as they...appear?

So "parlaying" and "following into the future", could this mean that Eldar and Imperium of Man or at least Space Marines mean that they will be Battle Brothers now? So now a lot of Space Marine players can start buying Battle Brother Allies with Eldar now?

As long as discussion remains OT and new rumors get added, I vote rename it and keep it open. If it's too OT/no new rumors, then close it and wait for the next.

Pretty sure he means that Marines & Eldar being BBs would mean the Apocalypse for 40K players

Actually I ment to say for 8th edition they will be battle brothers. Got distracted and forgot to mention that part.

I can't see her wearing an elaborate gown. I know she has some fancy rune armour but I doubt it would stand out any more than any of the other seers kicking around at that gathering. Now Iyanna is mentioned, I'm wondering what Yriel is doing whilst all this is going on. If Sylandri is there I wouldn't be surprised if she's persuaded him to come along too.

Maybe the figure in red armor is Yriel. Yriel is hinted at in the novel Valedor as having mixed parentage, with a Dark Eldar saying (on p. 176) "..mother's home is a haunt for milksops who will not reach for father's sword." I.e. he is saying Yriel's father is from Commorragh while his mother is from Iyanden. Maybe Yriel finally accepts his mixed origins now?

Yriel in red is a good guess.

Yriel in red is a good guess.

It actually completes the theme: Eldrad represents the Craftworlds, Malys the Dark Eldar, Veilwalker the Harlequins, and Yriel a fusion of Craftworld/Dark Eldar/Corsair Eldar. Together they symbolically represent all the Eldar (except the Exodites, but they don't have an army list)

Malys - Dark Eldar? Why is that? She's marely a subordinate. What happened to the arch-troll Vect?

Interesting idea, I didn't know he might have dark eldar links. There's a question of where he's put the spear as that smokey picture of the model is holding a sword. It would be rather neat if he used his past links to forge an alliance between all the eldar factions.

She's more than a subordinate. In terms of plotting and subterfuge she's supposed to be on a par with Vect.

The Harlequins have influenced Malys. Codex Harlequins said it was the Veiled Path that set Lady Malys up for her webway encounter and arcane bond with Cegorach (i.e. that heart and golden figure was a manifestation of Cegorach). They have also influenced Yriel. They are the glue holding the various factions of the Eldar together. If Malys is their pawn, they could be aiding her in overthrowing Vect.

Path of the Dark Eldar pretty much states she's afraid of Vect and what he can do. But I guess nothing in sacred, bleh.

I'm a bit supprised, that no one brought the name Lhykosidae to the table of speculation, as those Eldar figures are supposedly previously unknown. Both Iyanna and Yriel are already established in the lore quite well. And "calm authority amid the swirling storm of colour" could be some form of Ynnead avatar/shard.

Man, I hope they give us a new Vect model with the Eldar thing. Malys would be ok, but Vect is still the best. Evil, unassailable, powerful, and evil.

Hopefully-so very bored of Eldread being the only Eldar doing everything and anything - kill him and use some other characters.
