ookay, well i'm unsure if this in the right forum, since it isn't a painting or modelling question exactly.
I'm planning to start magnetising my models, and i'm just wondering if anyone knows of any UK suppliers of the magnets? i've found plenty of US websites, but no UK based sites. I'd rather not buy via US due to shipping costs/time, etc.
if anyone has any information that'd be fantastic
many thanks,
Ash

I've ordered from these guys a couple of times and never had a problem, not sure how their prices compare but they don't seem too bad.

If it's plastic then I'd say you'll be fine with 3mm x 1mm. I used the 4mm x 1mm circular magnets which were perfect for the arms on the plastic Chaos Terminator Lord kit. I used a Dremel to drill out holes the exact size and used superglue to mount them in. The magnetic strength is certainly good enough to hold the arms on and not strong enough to tear them out of the glue in the socket.
One tip, make sure you get the polarities right .

I'm sure you'll be fine with the .5mm ones too, the attraction on them is very good. Let us know how you get on.

i got mine from www.powermagnetstore.com/
I got the D1/8" x 1/16" size which seem to be just the right size to fit in a hole made with 2mm drillbit with space for glue.

If you use a 0.5mm thickness magnet and it isn't strong enough - a dab of glue and add another magnet...

I've used these guys a load. They're cheap, reliable & have a great variety!
p.s. I always use 'Araldite Rapid' (the red & white tubes) to fix them in place, SuperGlue tends to be a bit too fragile.

I get mine from bits and kits, because I know they are reliable and I can reduce postage costs when I buy other bits from them. I have found them to be very good at getting your stuff to you fast.

unfortunately ebay isn't the greatest option for me as, for some reason, you must be 18 to sign up to it, hence i prefer trying to find a reliable paypal site
