I am starting to paint my salamanders army and I was wondering how to do the armor. they have all been primed black.

Another question I have is about scouts, how do I paint the clothes where they arent armored?

If anyone has some tutorial vid or text I can see it would be much appreciated.

I use thraka green under coat, then paint them all goblin green, with extreme higlighting at the edges of armour plates

see my dreadnought

hope this helps, and if you need more pics just shout

and about the cloth i dont know, you could try either a light colour such as bleached bone, or a really dark green

The color on the dreadnought is a little to dark for my tastes, but it looks good otherwise.

Looks fantastic, do you water down the paints Grandmaster? and how do you mix paints, cause what I do is dip the end of the handle of the brush in and dab on a palate, is there a more effective way to do this?

I dont water them down as snot green is quite thin - hence the 2 coats. I make a mix in an empty mixing pot so the whole squad matches. This is done with a pipet, I just put a 50/50 mix in a pot and stir. It also stops in drying out before you finish a model

You could do but it wont give much difference over 2 snot greens!

I spelt it wrong but one of these

http://www.nhrorganicoils.com/products.php?id=11700

and 50/50 is the same amount of snot green and bleached bone mixed together. ie of the finished mix 50% is snot green and 50% is bleached bone

ive gone with a basecoat of black.
2 thin coats of 50/50 snot green and dark angels green (mixed with 50% water)
Highlight then with snot green.

if further highlights are needed 75% snot green and white.

I didnt really like scorpion green i felt it was to bright and didnt work up well as a highlight. I will add some photos to my gallery tommorow.
