Behind you

Hey all,

I don't know if this belongs here,

if it doesn't please don't lock it MOD!

When they say 5'' blast or 7" blast, do they diameter or radius?

Or perimeter

Thanks for reading through

And hope you reply ASAP

probably should be in YMDC.

a 7" blast?! lead me to it.

a 5" blast is the large blast template (it has a circumfrence of 5") and the 3" is the small blast template (it has a circumfrence of 3")
then the flamer template has a LENGTH of 7" (from the thin point at the end to the large circular end.)

hope that helps.

Edit: replaced incorect words.

Wrong. Radii is from center to edge. 5" blast is the same as a CD/DVD which has a 5" diameter.
Not so sure on flamer i thought it was 8" total but I may be wrong myself on that one.

edit:
Thanks skin

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Wrong. Radii is from center to middle. 5" blast is the same as a CD/DVD which has a 5" diameter.

Radius is measured from the center of an object to the perimeter, or sometimes, in the case of non-circular.... err... circles, such as ellipses, it is from the center to the farthest perimeter edge, and sometimes it is the average from the center to the furthest and the closest edge.

Just because anyone agrees with anyone, doesn't mean they are correct. Beware the thin line between what is "Correct" and what is "Popular."

Wow, I just noticed that, 10.5 hours of classes on 1.5 hours of sleep must be taking its toll lol.

Something that might interest the original poster is that the rules refer to the tear-drop shaped template as the Template, and the circular templates as Blast markers.

Diameter?

It really isnt the circumfrence.

3"/5" is the diameter, that is the furthest possible distance from one edge to the other.

A better way of thinking of it is to 1/2 this number, to give the radius (so 1.5"/2.5") and then set your tape measure to this, and draw the imaginary circle around the center of the target model.

I believe a couple of the Forgeworld models have 7" templates. The Bombard and Collossus spring to mind. but i might be wrong.

There are both 7" and 10" blast weapons in apocalypse.

The size of the BLAST MARKERS is always in diameter, which is the distance measured from one edge, through the centre, to the opposite edge. Radius is the distance from the centre to the furthest edge and is half the diameter.

The perimeter or curcumference is the distance round the edge, which for circles is defined as Pi*diameter.

Come on guys this is elementary geometry.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Well sure the guy who typo'd but I'm pretty sure we all know he didn't mean from center to the middle lol
