Fellow 40Kers,
For those of you who are IRC inclined, a group of EVE friends who share the love of Warhammer 40k have started a 40k channel on our IRC server. We are a small group, but welcome any and all who wish to chat about the hobby we're passionate about.
Server: irc.griefplay.net
Channel: # wh40k
For those who are not IRC inclined, but wish to join us, you'll need an IRC client. I recommend mIRC. Once you've installed the program, copy and paste this into the command line (the box where you can type gak at the bottom of the program):
/server irc.griefplay.net -j # wh40k
If there are users who are unsure of how to setup mIRC, I'll setup a tutorial if there's enough interest.
Hope to see you soon,
Sprak

Wow I have not used IRC in about 12 years.
That brings back memories.

Yeah, IRC is an oldie but a goodie. I've been hooked ever since I started using it about 7 years ago!

Still welcoming any additions to our channel! We've had a few people poking around, but it'd be awesome to have more!

IRC is basically a chat-room system. You set up a server, and a channel or several. A channel is a chat-room, a server is where it is hosted. You need to download an IRC client (xchat-WDK being the best) and you chat with people from around the world!

It's been a while since I've played 40k, but am thinking about restarting my Eldar and Marines. I saw this thread, and decided to give it a go since I use IRC quite often. They might yet convince me to actually start playing/painting again. Thanks mates for setting this up!

NA based eh? I'm EST and I'd consider chatting it up.
What timezones do most of the people hail from?

Most are EST/CST. However, we're pretty active at all hours (quiet between 6 am and 10 am EST).

Forgot about this thread, but it's time for a bump. After about a month of existance, the channel is up to an average of about 15 users. Constant 40k chat, come join in.

To let people know, #WH40K is alive and well.
I joined and haven't left, and with me are probably 10-20 regular users, and others who drop in and out, with someone there for a chat at least 80% of the day.
Feel free to come and check it out.
