Hear me mortals, zenos, meq's, bugs, heretics, or space tomb kings! You, as a community should have access to more than 2 troop choices. Its boring. We need more options to keep play fluid and creative. Now I play Space Wolves and Grey Hunters are the best troops in the Imperium. Enough said. Yes, we have Blood Claws but.... uhhhh. So my dream troops are the Grey Slayers from the Eye of Terror codex. With 2 attacks base and Relentless (True Grit) they would be an amazing addition to the Great Companies. Make them 17 or 18 points (drop Claws to 14 maybe? hmmm), and we have a very nice scoring unit that can do some work. . What do you guys think of the Slayers and what troops would you wanna see in your armies?

The night has fangs.

This is correct^ The only codex I see in need of another troops choice is Orks, and maybe the crons need an upgrade character to make something troops.

I also would like Eldar Guardians that each carried Star Cannons for 2 points total per guy.

It's just as reasonable as your suggestion.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I'd love to see some Squig Herds as troops- or a character that could make a squad of Burnas, Stormboyz, Lootas, Kommandoes or Tankbustas into troops (different character for each, that is).

Or even if Troop Deff Dredds were able to hold objectives.

@Jeffar I disagree about the pathfinders. Holding an objective is not their job make markerlights rapid fire and put them out in front, pulling the army forward.

or

Blood Claws are, in my opinion, not worth the same as Grey Hunters. Yes, they have furious charge, but to me, i only use them when i want to troll with Lukas. Grey Hunters simply having better stats should be worth more than BC, plus they have a boltgun, making them that much more effective. you'd have to drop point costs for blood claws at least 3-4 for me to want to use them.

6th Ed Eldar - 4/2/5

"The warhost on the hill was one of the most bizzare sights I had ever seen on a battlefield... Xenos, daemons and humans collected together in units together, gripping dice and paintbrushes; Orks, humans and creatures for which I had no name, clad in ancient armour and clothing; steam-powered walkers with antique-armoured assistants; and many bizarre war-machines, many of which had no purpose that I understood.
An Eldar, bizarrely dressed in a customised suit of power armour and standing on a shield borne by two servants, was carried forth out of the crowd. Raising his Daemon weapon, he shouted three abrupt words:
"Thin! YOUR! PAINTS!"
With that, every member of the warhost screamed out their own battlecry; only a few that I heard were "WOLVES FOR THE WOLF GOD, WOLVES FOR THE WOLF THRONE!", "METAL BAWKSES!", and, strangest of all, "CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!". However, after a few seconds, all these shouts were replaced with a single, simultaneous battlecry:
"DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA! 'ERE WE GO, 'ERE WE GO, 'ERE WE GO!" Upon shouting this, the entire army charged down the hill, guns blazing." - extract from the report of Colonel Montague, Cadian 12th, on the "Gugalle Incident".

Grey Slayers would be awesome. And Blood Claws are definitely not worth the same points as Grey Hunters - if anything, Grey Hunters should be 1-3 points more expensive.

As for the Nids, they don't need any more Troops, it's a strange day when I don't max out my Troops and Elites selections. If anything, some of our Troops choices could do with slight discounts (Hormagaunt and Genestealer upgrades) or better rules (Ripper Swarms).

Or, you know, increase the cost of the most undercosted troop in the game?

As a Black Templar, I'd love to have more than one troop choice...

I think every army should get more troops, different types and different levels. Also be cool if it was percentage based so that if you take enough regular troops you can start getting into more elite troops.

Also not just split into assault or shooty, but simply more variations of purpose or strengths.

jumping hormagaunts that can assault over terrain with no penalties or gain an advantage but are crazy fragile.

Space marines that fire at assaulting units first.

Orks that could stampead and if they killed a unit they could assault another in the same turn.

That kind of stuff, it could be simple upgrades or bonuses you can take for a unit that. Such as the marine option if the entire squad has only bolters they may shoot once if being assaulted. Bring more tactics into a game i think.

I'd like a dedicated assault guardsman unit, nothing fancy just a swap the lasgun for a pistol and ccw.

I don't even want the jump pack ones from rogue trader or EPIC.

It's sad when a bunch of psykers can out fight a unit of vets...

far too many points and still painting...

Take Guardians out of troops, or give them something that makes them useable and not horde-ish. Fluffwise, Guardians are only ever put in the field as a last resort, you shouldn't be able to spam them.

Throw Wraithguard into troops regularly, instead of that "only as a 10 man squad" rule.

Phoenix Lords should definitely make at least one squad of their Aspect scoring.

And I disagree about Marines having more troop types. Yeah, it sucks gamewise to have such limited options, but in the fluff that's exactly how it is. In case you couldn't tell, I'm a big fan of fluff influencing gameplay.

Eldar shenanigans are the best shenanigans!

CSM need their hordes again. Bring back the cultist mobs.

Admittedly the number of troops choices are high but they are all in power armor(other than the generic lesser demons). CSM is really the major general chaos codex and yet it mainly reflects just the space marine part of Caos. I know it's in the name, but the GK codex is really the Inquisition codex, the codex names are just names.

Oh, and any of the demon squads should still be legit troop choice within a CSM army instead of non specific greater and lesser demons.

Go back to the 3rd ed organisation for CSM troops, then bring back the good lesser daemons, add in cultists and Operatives for the AL, and give something in the Chaos army a sniper rifle!

Yes, this. Or maybe make them troops, which would achieve the same result. It makes sense fluff-wise too. If Fuegan was leading an army, or at least attached to one, you can bet the Craftworld's Fire Dragon shrines would go all out.
