Drop pods are cheap and blendernoughts are bad ass. Even if its not competitive, could the unit work well with the strategy?
Any lists would be appreciated.

They can except that DP's don't get the DoA rule and you also have the DP assault rule to consider which can leave some of your forces without support

+ Drop Pod = Win

So if that shoot all the DoA units that can't take them all down and I'm sure the Dreads will take a ton of fire, what ever they don't kill, kills them.

There's a pretty serious issue if you plan to deep strike with your infantry. Half the Drop Pods come down turn 1, while everything else comes in later. That means the stuff in the pods dies for very little benefit.

So, if you want to go this route, you have to start on the table, and use the distraction of the DP'd stuff to buy time for your infantry to get into assault.

This can be a fine idea, however you do need to deal with the fact that your dreads will come in on turn 1 if you dont have empty pods to delay them. Coming in turn one could be useful if you run ML devs in your DOA list as some do. It takes some heat off of the devs during that turn where they are the only thing on the board.

However, if your goal is to alpha strike on turn 2 with DOA plus podding dreads, you need an equivalent number of empty pods to delay the dreads for a turn. These can be found as empty dev or tactical squad transports especially if those units will be camping on backfield objectives. Alternatately, using a throwaway unit like a bunch of combi-melta sternguard could provide the turn one pods, though sternguard will cut into your dread count if your arent using death company.

Lastly, probably the best option for DOA dreads is on a stormraven filled with scaries like Assault termies/death company. This preserves the alpha strike nature of the list and hopefully your assault marines can tie up meltas which are bad news verses assaulty dreads. This can act as a reserve force that breaks open enemy lines or uses the assault marines as a can opener to get to bubble wrapped units.

This is not a bad idea. I've run 2 ravens that can DS with assault marines and used the empty pods to drop on turn 1 (drop them near objectives, they count as contesting )

I really like the stormraven/dread idea. Are Terminators allowed in the stormraven?
