Hey dakkadakka, I'm creating a custom character for my CSM army and wanted some feedback on his stats, special rules and cost.
Is his stat line and rules overpowered for his cost, or vise verse? Any feed back is appreciated.
Oh! And i wasn't sure where this fit in so I threw it here, if this is the wrong spot please let me know , thanks.

Azrael Mastema : 200 pts [name formerly malick] -Azrael means "arch angel of death", and -Mastema means "Second only to god." So together i think it makes "Arch angel of death who's is second only to god". Since he one of the chosen of khorne (in the fluff I made for him) I thought it was fitting.

War-gear:
Artificer Terminator armor: Ancient terminator, handcrafted during the days when the emperor still walked the stars.
-Improves the standard terminator invuln. save to 4+.
Skull Reaver and Khornes Due: Massive, twin, cleaver like chainswords forged from daemon metal, and christened in the blood of heroes. Gifted to Malick for burning his homeworld and giving the skulls of its entire populace up an offering to Khorne.
-Work the same as blood talons.

Special Rules:
-Independent Character
-Fearless
-Furious Charge

And for the rules he has (Eternal warrior) combined with his invul save and 4 wounds is easily worth 230 minimum, hes undercosted imho

In response to your original question, he's extraordinarily powerful for his cost. On the charge, he's a T5, S6 Eternal Warrior with 7 attacks that hit on 3s against most things, reroll wounds and generate additional attacks, all of which go at I6, and a 2+ 4++ save for his 4 Wounds to boot.

Compare that to Kaldor Draigo, widely considered to be one of the most cheesy, ridiculous characters in the game. For 75 more points, he is an S6 or 7, T5 Eternal Warrior with 5 Force weapon attacks that hit on 3s against most stuff and strike at I5, with a 2+/3++ for his 4 wounds.

So comparatively, you are getting Kaldor Draigo with +1I, +2/Infinite Attacks, and only a slightly worse save, for 75 points less. Now, admittedly CSM have nowhere near the same kind of ease-of-delivery for Terminators as the Grey Knights or even other Marine chapters, but it's still a bit over the top.

I'd suggest making him S4, T4, A4 (including the +1 for MoK), and removing Eternal Warrior. Since he doesn't do anything for your Force Org and Chaos has terrible Terminator delivery methods, Making him 215 - 220 points with the changes I suggested seems a bit more reasonable to me. He'll still hit at I6 and be able to wipe squads on his own with his 6 S5 super-lightning-claw attacks, but he'll be a little more susceptible to walkers and elite assault specialists if he's alone. So he should still perform super well for a CSM unit, but not be a one-man walking army.

I agree that keeping EW needs justification. Same with the natural S5. There's nothing weirder than characters having unexplained boosts in their "physical" attributes (vs. the standard statline). If he has a reason to be even stronger and more unkillable than a regular space marine character, then it should be shown in his profile.

I didn't see the original, though from what you dropped, he certainly looks a lot better. However, why eternal warrior? Is there a fluff justification, other than he's awesome? Honestly, the last thing a custom character should have is EW. Having EW means you didn't have to think about throwing him at anything, as he'll likely survive or only take one wound from that hidden klaw/fist.

Without EW, you'll be forced to actually think about throwing him at certain units that have hidden klaws/fists. His saves are good, and he's good in CC, but he'd actually be more fun to play with - and against - without EW. Remember he's still S6 on the charge, with re-rollable power weapons, that get more attacks for each unsaved wound...he's no slouch.

In short, custom characters don't need EW. It just looks like a crutch for a desire to never have him killed on the table-top.

Okay, I removed eternal warrior as I couldn't think of a reason for him to have it. However The S:5 will stay. This is because in a nutshell my un-posted fluff for him has daemon of khorne residing in his armor lending him its strength,

Well I didn't know there were other Malicks . Originally I wanted to name him Raziel but decided it wouldn't be fair to take the name away from my daemon price. Guess its back to the drawing board for something unique then.

I never said I wanted to get into CQC with him. Just play against him. And I'm sure I have some tricks that'd keep this boy down if the dice gods are even just okay with me.

1st up thanks for the the compliment 2nd...BigMek Gitstompa is my cousin so I don;t mind if he tries to advertise on my threads lol. Besides I asked him to put his and his brothers characters up so dakkadakka could help make them not so uber out of control strong . As a matter f fact I think I'll mozy on over there now
