I notice a lot of threads in the general discussion forum that ask questions about tactics.

Why do people not post them in the tactics forum?

Two reasons off the top of my head:

1) Same reason proposed rules threads end up in general discussion, and the same reason 40k threads end up in Dakka discussions. People post without thinking about where they're posting, or they accidentally post in the wrong area. Most of the threads are probably because of this, if I had to hazard a guess.

2) A lot of the Tactics threads end with: "Change your list to the most competitive list possible, +/- your preferred variations." This isn't exactly very helpful, except for totally new players who want to know why certain lists have a more competitive edge. Of course, many threads ask questions like "how do I win with X?" or "how good is X unit?" which are terrible questions to ask, since it places the unit/army in a vacuum, so the answers are always "do the generally most competitive thing."

Yeah! Who needs balanced rules when everyone can take giant stompy robots! Balanced rules are just for TFG WAAC players, and everyone hates them.

True true.

Also, I think a lot of new players post here because it's so... general. Kind of feeling like you can't go too wrong posting in here.

LoneLictor on thread about an ork choking the Emperor:

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

Mainly because people dont read the forum rules and thus post in the forum they think is correct but which actually is not.
No biggie I think, mods keep an eye on these things.
