Just for funzies, what's your favorite beast or Jack?

For me personally it has to be the Bolt Thrower. People always underestimate them, and I can't remember how many times they've opened up charge lanes, knocked down casters and other stuff that secured me the victory.

A close second is Drago. I just love using him with vladsy.

Slayer. Hands down.

Every Cryx list I build has one(or a Slayer based Character like Nightmare or Erebus).

I don't care about its stats, I just love how it looks.

Favorite Jack - Rocinante. I think he is all kinds of awesome and Dom he's just money. Guard Dog FTW.

Favorite Beast - This is difficult due to the fact that I play legion and I love them all. Hmm... I'd say my Go to beast is usually the Scythean. It hit almost every list I have, but as far as my favorite to use on the table, I'd have to say the Raek because its like playing a predator. They are fantastic little beasts and will get where you need them quickly, have stealth, and leap. Shredders come in as a close 2nd, and Stingers vs. living models its hilarious to charge with 4 dice. Typhon is also amazingly good and lighting things of fire with the Ravagore is hilarious.

Did I mention I love ALL my beasts? hehe.

Favorite jacks include the humble Charger and Nomad, with mentions for the Defender, Renegade, and Beast. And yes, Drago is mean.

Overall Beast/Jack- Definitely Nightmare. He looks awesome artwork wise, his lore is pretty cool, the model itself looks great(the little kid makes it hilarious) and his stats are so bonkers(prey, reach, high speed/mat/power) that I take him in any list that requires a heavy jack or with Denny(bonkers stats and stealth...k thx).

Beast Only- Wolds in general. I really like the look of the wolds and I am always a fan of high armor. They might not be the most competitive things, but they are sweet in my book.

Special Mention - Crumpadon

Favorite Jack - Deathjack (I know, let the flames start flying), I am either hot or cold with him (either stomping everything flat or getting spread across the field in little pieces) there is no middle ground with him. Plus I like the self built/renegade jack fluff (just wish the hands didn't look so stupid).

Favorite Beast - Bronzeback Titan, love the model and he is such a massive face beater in most of my games. Plus he is a great distraction from my lowly Gladiators so they can do their nasty little tricks.

Gotta give a runner up to my Defilers, love those little spitter chickens, arcing and that spray (ignoring stealth, cover, conceal, melee) as a bonus that does bad things to low def/ high armor with its corrosion.

Another jack vote for the Deathjack. It helps that he's attached at the hip to my favorite caster: eSkarre. Although I do want to give him a whirl with Scaverous or eGaspy for some Excarnate shenanigans. A close second goes to Malice shortly followed in third by the free Seether he helps make with the WSC. That combination has really made people hate them. Or me. I'm not sure which...

Favorite beast is going to the metal Dire Troll Mauler. I say metal because I like his sculpt so much more than the new plastics. The expression is fantastic and exactly what I think of when I imagine a feral beast of raging force roaring right before it charges and tears things apart with its bare hands.

Hard to say because I don't really play any faction for the 'beasts/'jacks.

As a result, I tend to like 'jacks for what they do.

Earthborn, Mulg, Reckoner, Blood of Martyrs.

I liked the Dervishes enough to buy four of them

Here is a new one, Freebooter like a boss. I run the commodore cannon and a buccaneer, and its just priceless to see this little slugger charge in and scrap a Khador Heavy. Plus the model is GREAT!

Jack: Either DJ or the Crabjacks. They're just so menacing (could be because they all hand over the base so much).

Beast: Boneswarm. Living pile of skeletal hurt? Sold.

I have no idea really. I could say Deathjack but I only use him with certain casters. Scaverous will take him at 50 points, I'm trying him out with Skarre2 currently and Mortenebra did take him till I went out of the teir to try other things.

Malice would be a good one but I've only taken it with Scaverous so far and that's because of the interaction with the withershadow combine.

The Harrower would be a lovely jack apart from I only really take it with Mortenebra as an Overrun generator.

You know, I don't think any of the Cryx heavies are my favourite jack. I think it's the Stalker. That little light jack is awesome for 4 points. It has sealth and pathfinder to get it places and then it ignores spells, focus and fury to get the kill. With movement shenanigans it can be a huge threat.

Second place is the Nightwretch. Arc node and with 2 focus it can take out the squishy solos easily.

Angleous is my favourite warbeast. Packs a good punch and is still quite a nice model.

Deathjack is the best warjack for me. Used with Denegrah its usually deadly.

Having 5 focus ready at activation it's capable of destroying several heavies in combat, casts spells, advance deploys. No rear arc.

It can even regenerate its health by killing things.

I once had 10 focus on him because of a well lined up trample

It's a real beast no doubt. I've heard tales of people fixing it by throwing living models at it. However, it only gets souls from the enemies that die within 2" of the Deathjack.

Ouch. They are one of the first things that I try to get rid off. After casters of course.

Blimy, that would horrible! Did he forget to activate it and spend the focus before your turn or something?

Just thought I'd check, souls only turn into focus on his turn, so you can't do that move until after his next activation. Where he should have used all his focus...

So did he just not do anything with the focus next turn?

I still want to know how he had any focus left. I'd have spammed spells using DJ just to get rid of it.

Well, he was a noob, was a casual game

I've done the same thing to a Harbinger though, in a competitive game. People really don't see slipstream coming for some reason. She was camping focus (had ploinked her down to 4 health with my feat turn, snipe ftw)
