Seems like a really nice, fun, balanced book with lots of different builds and no real Turkeys....

True?

I like the O&G book.
Some of the units in it are crazy good (manglers), and some are just plain bad (snotlings).
Over all I think it has good balance, and nothing OP to really cry about.

Cause the chicks dig it...
2000 (RT era Thousand Sons), 2000 (Undivided), 3000 (demons)
2500 (Skaven), 3000! (Chaos Dwarf), 2500 (Warriors of Chaos)
(RT era World Eaters WIP)

The best thing about Orcs and Goblins is that almost every single unit are viable and can be used on the battlefield! The book is good as well but not overpowered and lots of fun with some crazy units and models, such as Fanatics and Mangler Squids.

Another really cool thing is that you can theme your army really well (only Orcs, only Goblins, only Night Goblins, only Savage Orcs etc) and still do well.

The only thing I don't like is Da Big Waaagh! spells, but that's just me. I like Da Little Waaagh! though.

I think their odour is atrocious.

No but seriously, I haven't read the book but I really like their model range. Some very nice looking minis.

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

Good book, nice models. Lots of variety for whatever ails you.

They are shinanigans on the table top, hilarious to play against and frustrating to play sometimes...but fun all around. Being a Wood Elf we would never think of launching a smaller counterpart with a spiked helmet and wings at our enemies

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Love my O&G. I've only gotten a few games in with the new book, and all 5 player games, but they play wonderfully. Hitting an undead player with the level 6 gobbo spell at full strength and choosing initiative...well, he's lucky his mortis engine gave him a lot of regen saves Still killed half his army with it. Oh, irresistible, how I love thee. And of course, the shaman was on the edge of his unit-only killed one guy due to the miscast. I rolled snake eyes to wound the other 2 guys touching him. Life was wonderful. Well, maybe not for the dead guys. And manglers, pump wagons, savage orcs...yeah, they're all good.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

In the right hands they can be mind bending to play against with Hand of Gork and all the random movement

Could you play a competitive O&G army and use regular orcs and not savage orcs? Regular goblins instead of night goblins?

If I can steal my friend's mini's, I was debating trying an O&G gunline (or at least range-heavy) just to see if it would work/be fun.
