PP said that they're part of a new Cephalyx merc contract, and they showed some Monstrosity cards in the video that did not say "Cryx Ally" on them. That's all we know at present. Hopefully someone grills a staffer at Templecon for a few more details.
My speculation is that, given their secretive nature, they will work for Cryx and any Merc contract that specifically allows Cephalyx. And maybe one or two of the solos or units will be Cryx Allies.

Well, they are Mercs. So I assume they work for someone. And cephalyx and Cryx are already known to work together and probably don't mind each other. So it'd kind of make sense if most, if not all, could be hired by Cryx.
That said, we only saw the front of the cards. And who they work for is usually on the back.
Here they are for those who are curious. I'm guessing the wrecker has some sort of thresher style attack. And the warden sounds like it has some sort of counter charge/slam attack. Also it's head is a buckler, LOL.

Monstrosities would not work for anyone other than mercs anyway. It is the same for mercenary warjacks. We'll need to wait and see if the units and solos work for Cryx. That isn't to say other methods of taking monstrosities in cryx could not be found. Monstrosity marshals would be a lot of fun.
Whether they are allies or work for cryx as mercenaries will determine if they work only for the new contract or if they will find a place in four star lists. I expect a split so the new contract keeps a few more unique things and doesn't become diluted like searforge or talion.

Also it looks like they're joining the exclusive "warjack without a cortex that's still technically a warjack" club. (B does not equal C. Brain maybe? Are these things actually alive?) And to be honest when I looked at the damage boxes I looked at the bottom first, saw the really sad and pathetic number of system boxes, thought "man, horrible ARM and only 12 system boxes...these guys will die to paper cuts." Then I looked up...those damage boxes just don't stop do they?

The Monstrosities seem designed to be cheap pieces of meat wall, which fits in wonderfully with the Cephalax's background. Despite the number of boxes, they're actually significantly softer than any other heavies (even Cryx has higher DEF to help them out), but apparently 7points will be as high as they go. Could be interesting, especially if they make them spammable with "jack" marshals or useful focus support/spells. Could be fun.

Actually, they're NOT technically Warjacks. They made a point in the Keynote to point out "Monstrosities do NOT count as Warjacks", meaning things that call out Warjack don't affect them like they do Myrmidons and Vectors.

It was reasoned as to why they did not make them Warbeasts was because Warbeasts still have some degree of self will (even a Warjack does to an extent). These are simply giant meat puppets that need to be directed in everything they do.

'Warjack' style models don't have that wording on their cards. This came up in the past with Wrong Eye's Battlegroup. It is possible that they'll gain a 'Junior Warcaster' type model.
There's also the Dominator ( UA) and the Mind Bender and Drudges (Unit?) which may work for Cryx. With the right wording on their cards they could make a few theme lists interesting.

So according to their fluff (and some personal assumptions) they are like the Reapers from Mass Effect?
If so, I'm hooked.
I just bought the Cephalyx Overlords and ordered a full unit of Drudges, I should have them painted up in time for June.
Good thing about this release though...
Just think of the conversions you can come up with.
Reaperfy/Borgify practically any Merc unit you want into the Cephalyx.
The possibilities are only finite to how sick your mind is when it comes to how assimilated or indoctrinated you want your models to look.
Hell, they'll look great in other armies too as they can be escapees for the Cephalyx Dominators.
Yes... I cannot wait for this army.

Arise ancient thread of mine! This is a pretty legit necro I think since the OP question remains valid.
I'm a bit out of the loop here in Central Europe but I understand there has been a rules preview in NQ. From what I've read only Exulon Thexus and his battlegroup will work for Cryx, and then only in two caster games. The Agitator,
Mind Bender and Drudges and the Dominator will only work for the Cephalyx contract.

That's a shame on many levels, I was hoping for much more interaction between Cryx and the Cephalyx (more allies). The Mind Bender unit is cheaper (££, they're plastic) and nicer than the existing Drudge unit and the Agitator sounds like a nice addition. You're also only allowed to take a single existing Mercenary unit with the contract (with the FA:1 Dominator attached. I was hoping that some of the more oddball character solos, Ragman, Gorman etc. would be usable.
Once again (Original Cephalyx releases were allies with no mercenary options) I almost (almost!) feel like PP are trying to make Cephalyx deliberately unpopular by making them very difficult to integrate with the rest of the game. I was hoping for some nice synergy options with my existing models, that there isn't makes me less inclined to buy into Cephalyx. Shame really.
Maybe Exulon Thexus will have an interesting theme list.

His contract hasn't been spoiled yet, BUT the NQ magazine that released him had a battle report that used his theme force in the battle report.
IIRC the theme force included a free Agitator and allowed some drudges to Ambush, but didn't allow the Cryx solos that the theme force allows.
At any rate, I think the list does have a reasonable amount of cross over if you played both Cryx and Mercs already, but they are still a very seperate mini-faction. Then again, as they expand they might get more cross over in various forms, it just won't start with much.

I think there was probably a concern about giving Cryx a bunch of mercenaries nobody else would get, along with some potential crazy interactions if the rest of the contract was Cryx allies like the base Drudge unit (pSkarre feat + Drudges + Agitator + Adrenal Flood = one or two Drudges beating a Khador 'jack to death with its own arm). The ultimate decision was probably made so that they could have more flexibility designing the Cephalyx without having to worry about how near-Menoth levels of synergy would interact with some of Cryx's strongest casters.

@ Chozo: I can see that a mass influx of Cryx allies could be problematic but there's form. Cygnar already have an Ally caster (Constance Blaize) and Khador got an extra Ally unit (Kayazy Eliminators). The choice to make the new Drudge unit on plastic seem odd as well since the old Drudge unit hasn't even been re-boxed to a ten model box, suggesting that they don't sell well, further evidence may be eDeneghra's NQ theme list which requires them, a sure sign that a unit is not very popular
The Skarre scenario would be avoided by making the new Cephalyx units 'Cryx' Mercenaries rather than Allies and the UA would have been a great way to include a Ranking Officer model for Cryx, something the faction currently lacks.

Eh, not really equivalent IMO.
1. Those took up a "slot" in Wrath, rather than being in a separate, Pirates of the Broken Coast-esque book. Mercs also got fewer releases in that book than the "main" factions so in a sense those two models being merc-friendly gave them parity.
2. I expect the interactions are the driving factor behind the restriction, rather than fluff: pDenny+pirates has shown that Cryx can get pretty crazy if they can combine strong debuff/offensive casters with infantry/units that have their own separate, warnoun-independent internal buffing/synergy. In Denny's case combined with the buffs the Cephalyx can provide you're potentially looking at a 12 ARM swing on a couple Drudges on feat turn: situational, but the fact that a cheapy Drudge could potentially be rolling straight dice on a closed Khador clamjack is nothing to scoff at. I simply think that if all the Cephalyx were Cryx allies/mercenaries they would look considerably different from a mechanical perspective in light of the above.

Two interesting additions have cropped up. Firstly the Cephalyx models will be part of the next Warmachine book, Warmachine: Reckoning, and also the Ally Drudge unit has been re-sculpted in plastic.
It also occurs to me that just because Exulon Thexus isn't an Ally it doesn't mean there won't be another Cephalax Warcaster in the future that is.
