How to make your own weathering powder for Rust Effects,

well you can buy some pigment weathering powder or do it the cheap way and im not talking about buying soft pastels im talking about using real rust.
Go outside and look for something rusty. Get the rust off the thing you found with a dremel or sandpaper and collect it in a cup. Then you can use some water with white glue and mix your powder in. Now you can paint it on your miniature or terrain piece.

That's...brilliant! Any problems with this on metal miniatures? As in, the rust...you know...rusting the figure?

I'd think real rust would eventually have adverse side affects even on the paint.

Good point. I wonder what this would do to metallic paints, since they have powdered metal in them? I bet it would still be ok, but I would like to see the effect over time. I've got an idea for rust that I might try thanks to this tutorial. It's inspired me .

Awesomeness! Thanks for the tutorial

We go for the eyes.
Then the tongue.
Then the hands.
Then the feet
Then we skin the crippled remains.

Real rust ( Iron Oxide) should not have a problem on the paint.
