So ive always liked the model/unit, and ive wanted to play it in my ork army list for a long time now...

My question is , can it be used as a LoW? and is it a great unit to use?

I had the rules for it on the old Apoc books, havent seen the current rules yet but i would still like to have some input on the subject.

And can it be played in normal 40k matches?

Are we talking Big or Gargantuan? The Big Squiggoth is a HS choice, and you need the latest IA Apocalypse to field it, because they made it significantly more capable and expensive. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like it could be fun if you need some MC melee. The Gargantuan is a valid LoW, but like all LoW and FW stuff you'd better clear it with your opponent beforehand. I think its rules are in the 6th ed Apoc book.

Edit: stupid autocorrect made its into it's incorrectly.

Well the Gargantuan looks really cool....So i would be more interested in him. If his rules are the same, he makes for a good transport/anti infantry support.

I think he would be a great unit for a fun match.

i want a gargantuan for the sheer fact that the model is insane lol. i remember reading the rules in the apoc book, it didnt seem all that awesome (not bad just not great) though.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

It has very high toughness and str, but as for everything else.. its kinda low. But the fact he can carry alot of troops and has a nice gun platform on him, makes him very useful.
I believe he cost alot of points though....

Hopefully i will get the model and just shock my friends when i field it in one of our matches lol

its probably the only LoW thats not absolute garbage that if you brought it without saying anything nobody would care, unless theyre just uber finicky on what they face.

I believe it was T8 but had no armor worth shaking a stick at, and ~8 wounds. Wouldnt quote me on that since i saw the stats like a year ago lol. I just remember seeing the stats and going "thats an apoc unit?"

I know his WS is low... which i thought was kinda sad... he atleast should get a 3 or 4 WS lol

If i remember correctly, he has a 4+ with fnp. So he isnt terrible at all, just cost alot of points compared to the smaller version (like 50-70 points I believe)

Not sure about the 4+ but general FNP is a GMC rule, along with Fear, Fearless, HoW, Move Through Cover, Relentless, Smash, and Strikedown.

One big thing to remember about GMCs - snipers and poisons wound them on a 6 unless the strength of the weapon wounds better without the sniper/poison rule. Thats huge, as most of the counters to a high toughness model is sniper/poison spamming.
Thats about the only way my Tau have reliably killed Wraithknights - Kroot snipers lol. Cant do that against any GMCs.
