Hello dakka community I've bought some dark eldars : codex, archon( vect conversion ) 4 venoms , 20 kabalite warriors and a ravager. I'm wondering what should i buy next.
For sure I'll buy 2 more ravagers, but then should i buy for example :
1. Khymere, beastmasters and baron
2. More venoms and warriors/wyches
3.Hellions and baron

Rumour-mill is expecting a new Dark Eldar Codex some time either this year or early next year. From looking at the Ork and GK codexs we can expect any special character without an official model to disappear, so I'd hold off on any plan that revolves around the Baron.

Hmm but then I'll have army for about 1k, and i would like to play with friends on 1,5k points :C

Beast packs are likely to remain good, Wyches are a way of getting heavy vehicles but I wouldn't suggest more warriors except to convert into Trueborn. Possibility of wracks / grotesques as a plastic kit and the voidraven as part of the codex release, but not certain.
Hopefully, someone with a bit more experience of DE will chime in with some other suggestions.

With the imminent release of a DE codex, I would honestly hold off on buying anything; I'm doing the same.

Take a look at Grey Knights - what made them useful and competitive in the last codex completely changed, and now GK players are scrambling to offload and sell their dreadnoughts and strike squads.

The next edition of DE will probably completely nerf venoms since they sold so many, and GW will want to sell more of a different kind of model. Just hang tight for now. Play with what you have, proxy them for other things if you need to in order to get a feel for the army. Make some paper cutouts for vehicles to get used to moving them and what they can do - just use the next few weeks to familiarize yourself with the codex and how DE play.

Then buy the new codex and stay tuned for what happens.

The DE Codex is likely to drop over 3 weeks of releases later this month.

Already there's a possibility that the next box set contains DE and some IoM goodies to slaughter them in set missions.

I'm hankering to start something new, even though I'm not finished with current forces.

I just bought some Eldar Guardians to test my painting on, and possibly allies for DE. I also bought some bits to help fix my old 3rd Edition OOP Kabalite warriors. I hope to turn them into Trueborn, and use a OOP Metal Witch "commander" as the Dracchon (Sp?) for them.

I've a real itch to start DE, even if i can't paint or play to their overall aesthetic/style, but I love the fluff, and want them.

This could be a very tempting month.
