My last thread, The Power Klaw, was a pretty big build so I figured I'd show a simpler build this time

This is my Widowmaker Mark 3 Personal Plasma Caster

I will admit it is my own take on the and I changed the spark chamber. So it might be an older variant or a blackmarket criminal weapon.

The first part of the build is the base I used a small piece of scrap 2 by 4, and a section of scrap 1 by 1 cut at a comfortable angle. I screwed down the handle before wrapping it in black duct tape. I used a piece of PVA foam bolted to the wooden block and folded over. a few small pieces of scrap cloroplast finished it up

I decided to use a prescription pill bottle to hold the power switch and batteries, and I would use a small tupeware container for the plasma vents, and Id use two tape cores for the muzzle. Originally I was going to install a small fan in the vent to give it a nice power up sound. or as Sgt Schlock my say "that Ominous HUMMM!!!" but that was impractical. To show the plasma spark chamber I used the tops of 2 pringles cans.

I cut away the PVA foam to fit in the spark chamber. coated the inside with a layer of aluminum foil and threaded 8 leds (4 to each side) through the pva into the spark chamber. I then threaded a number of leds through the cloroplast so it would emerge in the plasma vent chamber. I painted the pill bottle and tupeware containers with 3 coats of black spray paint the cloroplast and pill bottle top was sprayed with 3 coats of gray paint. I then ran one more LED into the muzzle of the blaster. the vents and spark chamber light up with the switch in the battery pack, and a momentary switch ls connected to the muzzle so that only lights up on the pull of the trigger.

Its not yet finished I need to do some detail work, and wrap the grip. I'm also thinking to tearing out the LEDs in the spark chambers and replacing it with cheap novelty plasma belt buckles

What do you folks think?

the muzzle tip while wrong still looks good, and the fan holes sell the model, also i like the tube beneath the main body of the gun...
but i would have based the pistol on a water pistol or anything else as the hand grip looks...well it drags the verall lookof the gun down...also i am not sure if it was such a good decision to use the spiderman icon...but as your weapon fluff says...well it could be a criminal copy or an ancient STD...so...

i recently made some guns of 40k origin myself... if you have question... i´d be willing too lend a hand if needed...

now i am off to look at your power claw thread... an idea had also... but shyed away still...

cheers, vik

I've bulked out the grip a little since that pic was taken I'm hopping that once I rewrap the handle in fake leather. it will look better I'll have a new trigger and a I'll have a skull decoration on the bottom. ore I do have a pistol grip off a junked nerf pistol that might work better.

LOL
the spider man logo was put in to try and make the spark chamber look less plain. its part of the reason I'm thinking of stripping it out remove the logos and add a few more LEDs if I can't find a good price on plasma disks

the nerf gun grip would be ideal in my opinion...they´re very archaic looking...very fitting...
but more leather on the grip could also work...since it is a pic and i view the pic on my monitor... what color are the LED´s? just out of curiosity... as plasma can have any color one chose...

I upgraded my Widowmaker Mark 3 Personal Plasma Caster

I wasn't to happy with the power out put of my last test firing. I mean the plasma barely punched through a pumpkin. I stripped out and upgraded the magnetic accelerator coils as well as refined the focus aperture. I also rebuilt the grip and installed a more sensitive trigger

What that means really is I padded the grip with some craft foam, Its a bit crude but its my first pistol grip, I then added the skull to the base, I stripped out the spider man logo and added a few more leds

this is it powered up. hell I even got the barrel leds to light up seperate from the spark chamber. they light up on a trigger pull

I dont have any more pumpkins so I decided to use Spooky here to test the effectiveness Its okay she bit me today, I have to do this to keep the other chickens in there place. I also used a small servo skull I've built and named Voxal to capture footage at a different angle.
