Apparently a new boardgame by Titan Forge who do make really nice minis (I've no personal experience of their board games) so it's worth checking out

but

they have had a lot of problems with their KS projects in terms of actually getting all the stuff to everybody so if your interested (and I am, if the price is right I'll probably back) do check out their previous projects where there have been issues so you are aware of what you may be getting in to

I got the entirety of my first order today. I think this might be the only Kickstarter I have ever backed that delivered on time (can't remember if Deadzone was on time or not). I do however have a second order that has tanks and that one is held up due to a casting issue. A few other people are sounding off in the X-terra comments too. (credit where it's due, I am pretty sure Battle Systems hit their deadline as well)

That said.. I would really have to see the models better and the price point would have to be just right for me to go in on this. The game play looks interesting but I'd want to see a video or write up of that too.

The Kickstarter has now launched -

Video is already in the first post so wont copy here.

Explanation as to why the characters may remind you of certain movie / tv characters -

Although a human mind is the most creative force in this world sometimes it becomes lazy. Especially when sick, it replaces the lack of data from the misfunctioning cognitive process with scraps of reality found in books, TV and games. That is why our characters unknowingly develop those alternative somewhat recognizable personalities and archetypes.

And current addons -

The not-Professor Farnsworth is pretty sweet. I also like a lot of the creature miniatures, especially that Hospital Administrator. I wonder how these figures will compare in size and quality to Zombicide's models?

Fingers crossed there is a not-Pyramid Head waiting to be unlocked!

They are 28mm so should match up nicely with zombicide in theory. Not looked into the company but I understand they have already made a couple of mini based Kickstarters and not seen any complaints regarding poor quality (although sounds like the first kickstarter had some fullfilment issues due to the postage company taking the money and running)..

Cool. I could see some potential for a Zombicide scenario using these figures. Kinda Zombicide meets Silent Hill type encounter, which could be pretty fun.

They've fethed up on multiple projects and changed KS accounts to try to hide their history.

I wouldn't touch their projects with a 10' barge pole.

Search KS for Armymals and Metal Beards. Note their change of KS account and the charming backer feedback.

Edit: Oh and let's not forget they were contracted to supply minis for the Demigods board game. The lumps of air-pocket riddled crap that they ended up delivering were so bad that the production was switched to Prodos.

Thank you for the info, i was only aware of the metalbeards and their latest not-40k KSs. That certainly is making me think twice about Lobotomy.

I backed one of their KS recently with a small pledge but, if you dare bring up Metal Beards/express being shocked over them actually delivering he product or anything else everyone in the KS comments turns hostile.

They also favor white knights pretty heavily, and have a bad history in which they swapped accounts. Some people still haven't gotten their metal beards stuff.

But, that's already been said here. I'm still waiting on my stuff from the latest KS before this one. Also during their Kickstarters, they are infamous for making new products like those jetbikes before delivering. Then again, this most recent KS was handled fairly well... so YMMV.

A lot of people are waiting still and I don't mean to be offensive but, I am genuinely curious on your thoughts. Do you think you got your stuff on time due to the fact you did some work for them? Yet again, I stress this isn't a personal attack. I'm just curious.

Edit: I apologize, I see some of your stuff was held up too now. Still curious though about your thoughts.

Loving the very high production values on the video. Not enough to make me a backer at this moment in time.

I've got multiple version of zombicide I still don't play as much as I should. I like the psychological aspect though, so we'll have to see.

EDIT: These guys could really use a spell checker. Multiple cringe-worthy typos. I hope the game has better editing.

As someone who has already received my (small amount) of stuff for the X-terra KS, I'm optimistic that Titan forge could have turned over a new leaf. However, I still have a large amount of metal beards owed to me, which I would love to get someday.

In the most recent X-terra update they made mention of their prior KS, and said to contact a r.lakomiak@titan-forge.com to help resolve any issues with them. I did so right away (last friday), and have yet to hear anything.

The theme of this KS doesn't really interest me, but the models look nice. And it's doing quite well so far.

I feel as if Metal Beards will always be a silent point of contention for this company.

I backed hoping they would change, and they did slightly. They discuss and post feeds about if they owe you anything, to mail them. (Several times by now,) and yet each week or two, someone still posts about it.

After the show that Titan Forge pulled with the Demigods KS and the Metal Beards, most people who have dealt with Titan Forge have a strong "Never again" stand on their Kickstarters. And on top of those debacles, many people here have reported that even buying their released products from them have resulted in bad experiences. The consensus I've seen around hear is if you are going to buy one of their models, buy through a third party distributor, so that if the model is bad, you'll at least get decent customer service.

I gave them one shot for those Starcraft looking Marines. I went in on a tank, random engines, and the Marines. If get burned, it's fifty dollars which blows massive chunks but, it isn't anywhere near as bad as others.

That being stated, I gave them a chance to turn a new leaf but, my biggest fear is that I get my stuff (or don't,) and... it's warped, or ripped straight from the mold.

I also read that DemiGods designed minis that weren't very well suited for casting and that the TF people got so little time that a lot went wrong and they even didn't get enough time to manually inspect the casts. Which may be one of the reasons the minis got re-designed now they have contracted another caster. And why the KS (which I backed) has been delayed for 6+ months now.
What the other KS is (are) concerned I read that the shipping company didn't do a great job and started to demand additional funds and keep the minis until they get more money. Not sure how the legal situation in Poland is at the moment but they got themselves into trouble.

These blaming games don't really clarify where the exact mistakes are made and who's to blame. Perhaps they were sort of naive and are now starting to learn, which is proven by the last KS that went a lot better than before.
Although the fact that they still haven't figured out a good shipping company and were rather late with adding new Stretch Goals after the last one was reached still doesn't sound 100% professional and in control.

90k stretch goal hit.

Dagon is coming up next. I guess he is being added to the expansion box. Will know more when they post the graphic.

They are also going to add some diversity in minis for the expansion which is good as the value just wasn't there with 30 identical miniatures.

One of the things I noticed/feel is that if I was being any more outspoken in the KS comments, it would result in me not getting my stuff so, I haven't been too critical on the "Time is longer in Poland," and other delays they hit. However, other people are already getting their stuff, and I haven't received a thing yet but, they collected my money awfully quick.

None of this would be an issue for me if they had just handled their previous Kickstarters better. I really hope this goes well, TF will either turn a new leaf or they quite frankly, they won't as a company.

Furthermore, I really hope that they didn't ship half the stuff out and the real reason the tanks are delayed is they ran out of money, so now they're making a KS. Wouldn't be the first time someone borrowed from Peter to pay Paul using a KS.

I have no idea why they ever thought that would be a good idea. They are looking to give a bit more variety there so hopefully they will announce something soon.

Ok. Put a source up on where you read that. The only miniature that had an issue with casting was the Black Wolf miniature, and that was only with the ankles being too narrow and causing air bubbles. The design was fixed prior to production.

Until then, I'll simply look to the experiences and photo evidence posted here and the explanation of why Demigods had to switch companies here. A lack of basic quality control, and poor customer service. I wasn't involved with the Metal Beards or their other Kickstarter, but I'm sure other backers of those projects could come and show similar issues of poor customer service and combative attitude that would reinforce the explanation that Demigods gave.

You want to white knight and defend Titan Forge? Post were you read those statements. We can then compare those to the many conflicting experiences of the scores of customers that have either gotten poor quality miniatures, or non at all.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with RivenSkull. I rarely find these kinds of post to be totally reliable when they come as the first post from a new user. Yes, you can be a lurker for several years, but I more get the feeling of shilling for the company.

Couldn't recommend against backing one of these folks' kickstarters strongly enough. Metal Beards was as bad as everyone has pointed out (and I seem to have had one of the least bad experiences), the not-40K one is shaping up to be a repeat, and they're just generally crummy to their customers (or their customers are crummy to each other on KS threads). Donate your money to the pound and you'll get just as many miniatures end of day.

If you are still waiting some items from the previous kickstarters the director (I think) has asked for backers to e-mail him at - r.lakomiak@titan-forge.com and he says he will personally ensure you are sorted asap.

It shouldn't have had to come to this but as they want to ensure no bad press during the current kickstarter campaign I think they will get your items to you asap.

This had made a lot of progress, I've updated to OP

they look to be trying to address problems in their previous campaigns, but their efforts do not seem to be reflected in what's posted in the comments of these projects

(although to be fair a lot of people will just go silent when the issues are fixed rather than posting they are satisfied)

so people still have to keep this in mind when pledging

Managed to miss your post somehow and updated my post with all the information. Best to have it more places then none at all

They are going to make a new poll over on Board Game Geek in regards to whether the 15 blank card goal should be changed, and if so, what to.

I am still hoping for a second sculpt for the addon as 30 copies of such a distinctive miniature is not appealing to me.

Update!

Just wanted to pop in and say, that I did receive word from the email I had listed above, and after a few emails back in forth (I still had my metal beards survey handy thankfully), I am sitting here with a veritable army of metal beards!

I would urge anyone who has not received their items from Titan forge to please contact r.lakomiak@titan-forge.com and to explain your situation (I'd try to do it with as little anger as possible, if you can). I am very glad to finally have this particular kickstarter fulfilled, not only because it was a lot of money I spent on it, but because the sculpting, figures, and the whole damn concept are really great!

After hounding them for so long about this stuff, it's great to finally have it in my hands. Now if I can only get the stuff I'm owed from the avatars of war indegogo...
