Hey guys, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the Harridan, I just bought one but cannot find the rules location, I seen it in Escalation but I heard that it wasnt the most recent one. Any ideas which is the most up to date?

It's insanely good for a Tyranid GMC. The other Tyranid GMCs aren't worth even using. It's not exactly point efficient next to other armies but it definitely lends support to any type of Tyranid army with its anti-everything cannons from above. Makes a good complement to Hive Tyrant lists since it can handle things they can't.

It's called a thick skin. The Jersey born have it innately.

I dunno, I feel like you're getting a lot more bang for buck by bringing a Hierophant.
I dislike Gargoyles, so it's not like I'm going to use its transport capacity. If you do use gargoyles I guess it's pretty good to get them in range for assaulting and whatnot.
Its primary role is going to be anti-vehicle because of its aweful BS (seriously, you don't want to waste 735 points of shooting killing 5-6 marines). I guess that's actually not bad since Tyranids lack decent anti-vehicle shooting options.
It's going to be near indestructible because it'll spend most of its time flying around and no one wants to tear through T8 with 8 wounds w/ FNP if they can't hit it decently, especially if it's got a 3+.

That said I feel like its a pretty lackluster unit and I'd rather pay another 265 points to get a Hierophant. It's imho a better looking model with better rules (even though it's not nearly close to being considered competitive).

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

Keep in mind this is the age of strength D.
Most weapons like this tend to be a blast, so the harridan can ignore them.

The hierophant however, cannot.

I found this to be its saving grace in bigger games and the main reason I'll run one instead of a hierophant/dule.

However, our big bugs are not exactly points effective compared to other armies.

I honestly hate the hiero model, but i LOVE the flying models nids have, they look awesome. I'm pretty confident in my army and want to just use it as a bullet magnet and tank hunter. Also, mane, how sure are you those are the right rules, is there an easy way to tell?
