Resin and metal 32mm-scale hobby figures will feature classic Star Trek characters and crews, boarding parties and away teams. Geomorphic tile maps of burning Federation ships, mysterious colonies and embattled Klingon cruisers will set the scene for dramatic new voyages in the Final Frontier.
There will be a focus on the Next Generation Era (which encompasses Deep Space Nine and Voyager) in the core book but there will also be enough information to play classic series and Enterprise adventures. In fact one of the playtest ships on offer is the Lexington another Constitution class ship similar to the Enterprise.
This is the coolest playtest idea I have ever seen:
Yes as player’s sign up they’ll get the chance to request assignment to a certain ship - there’s a Constitution class ship (in the original series era), a Galaxy Class, Intrepid class and Akira class in the Next Generation era. Each one will present different challenges and experiences to the playtesters.
The Galaxy class will get a bit of everything but with a leaning towards social and diplomatic events. The Intrepid class ship will have a heavy focus on exploration and science, meanwhile the Akira class will be in for some deep space action! All four ships will be involved in a really exciting story arc.
The playtest will kick off in September, and each month a new assignment will be delivered from Starfleet sending the players ships on different missions, however each new mission will be tailored by our writing team based on the outcomes of the previous assignments. In this way the crews of the ships will begin to have a very real impact on the storyline for this first Star Trek Adventures campaign, and all the crew members (players & GM’s) will be listed in the crew manifests in the core book. We’re going to build on this with Organised Play in retail in 2017 and a much greater Living Campaign.
We expect the finale in the Spring of 2017, and the kickoff of the next Living Campaign at Gencon 2017.
Line structure:
We’re planning a core rulebook, with supplements expanding on Operations, Command, Science etc which give player’s lots more character options, and details about how to enhance their roles in the crew, GM briefings on the kind of missions and campaigns that these roles should encompass. Quadrant books will introduce more races, locations, events and histories, as well as mysteries and threats. There will of course be campaigns taking you through storylines based on the shows and films as much as new stories to explore.
The Star Trek Adventures miniatures are for those who like using minis with their RPG’s and will appear in crew sets such as the Next Generation crew, Classic Series crew, generic Federation Away teams, Klingon boarding parties, Romulan Away Teams. You’ll be able to pick up 10 figure crew sets or smaller blisters. Geomorphic tiles of Federation ships, lost colonies, space stations, Romulan and Klingon ships will give you great locations to act out the adventures.

Well, the Mutant Chronicles RPG line currently has a total of 20 books, for example. In... about year and a half? Whereabouts.
Thanks guys, been a LOT of work but we've got an amazing team of super Trek fans and established writers working on it and the minis are going to be amazing.

Ooh! Ooh! Will we get ToS Movie-era models at some point? Gotta love 'dem ribbed turtlenecks
Seriously though, this looks very interesting, even for someone who probably won't get to play it - more Prime content is always welcome and I'm a sucker for sourcebooks set in IP's I enjoy.
"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal
Generation-spanning comprehensive RPG filled with trek lore...fleets of different ships to be assigned to.. a galaxy of planets to explore... and all I'll ever do is force players onto the holodeck where they must roleplay a bunch of 30-something nerds playing D&D in the early 21st century.
I suspect this will tempt some friends into starting an RPG group and making trip to Dragonmeet. Those two resins are really really nice work; the poses and faces really capture the characters
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Would really like to see a batch of figures and go at it, where are the playtest versions, I want in. I have about 20 people chomping at the bit for this one.
At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
