I think there's an issue with the translation to my language of the general's handbook since I have some major doubts, the main one now being wether or not battlebrew item is a "one use only" item or can be used repeatedly.

I think it is a one-use-per-hero-phase item. It says you may take either one or two swigs of battle brew per hero phase. If you break that up and say you're taking another drink of battle brew, then you haven't taken one or two, you've taken three or four. So, each hero phase you can take one or two swigs for as many hero phases as there are in the game.

Yeah as worded it's once per hero phase, and if you do multiple two-swigs in a game then the mortal wound penalty will stack.
