I don't see much point in you reciving our address in step 4, unless you do away with the matching up which is pretty unnecessary as it'd be more of a surprise if the gift is random to be revealed later on as people show their gifts.
Perhaps match to a country to keep postage down.
Just match us up in a list and we can divulge whatever info we see fit to the opposite party.
Also the other thread is redundant, people could just post their wishlists here?
I'm the only one to receive the addresses as I will match up all interested participants and make sure everyone has one victim. Naturally, that victim also has one victim a.s.o. to make the circle complete. Pairing up people, well,
IMO that could take away the surprise-part when members start communicating with each other and making deals. That's more suitable for the Swap Shop.
Putting up a list and make people decide for themselves could end up in members getting gifts from multiple others, while some may get nothing.
Participants only get the address of their victim, so they still don't know who will be their own Secret Santa.
Wishlists are there to provide the Secret Santas a little guidance to what the victim is interested in. This can go from "Anything
40K" to "Fantasy orc stuff". Extended wishlists with regular/common stuff make it easier for the Secret Santa to choose from and there's a bigger chance the Secret Santa has some of that stuff in his own fodder box. Or he has to do a little shopping.
Good suggestion about matching up people from the same country. If there are enough participants, I'll take a look at it. Cannot guarantee it will happen if we end up with a couple of "loners" from different countries. But then again, I know I can ship to everywere in Europe for like €10 regular small parcel mail. And it's the circle again: you give some, you get some....
