In due course. As I’ll be buying a home in the as yet to be determined but not too distant future, I’m going easy on purchases.

But fancier toys will be on the agenda eventually. Particularly keen on the Terminators.

I missed a few days of Dakka and you've done an army!

Based. I’ve based an army!

And as I’ve smashed my weekly target, it’s Friday and I need to leave something for me to do next week? I think there’ll be some extra hobby time today. Which is handy, as Grim Black takes a while to dry.

Day 236

Pre-speed paint drybrush on the Infantry. Will be doing the Grim Black later.

All done in Grim Black. Next up is to whip round the piping and that in Gun Metal, the Dreaded Reddening, then any tidy up. After that, basing. And I’ll be done.

All of it.

Honestly wasn’t sure I’d get to this stage.

Day 237

I have Hobbied, and Hobbied hard. But it was making little ghost trinkets and potions with my friend and her girls.

I’ll get some painting done in a bit though. But probably only a wee bit.

Day 238

Just the 8 Heavy Plasma Guns to go with the metallics.

From there, do the eyes and base red, tidy up any splodges with some Grim Black, top coat red, and basing gloop.

Very, very excited to get all this done and dusted.

Metallics done, and managed to horribly splodge the last Heavy Plasam Gun. But….first red next, then Grim Black tidy up, top red and base.

Super close to being finished.

First red down. Soon as that’s dried, tidy up the Grim Black, and final red. Oh, and the Plasma Glow. I mustn’t forget that, as it should make the pop.

Just the bases to go.

And. I. Am. Spent.

All my Heresy models. Every last bloody one. Built, painted, and based. Barring the odd bit I’ll no doubt nip back and tidy up.

But that’s it for now.

Next up? Who knows. Maybe terrain, maybe LI terrain.

I can do pics shelf by shelf. But I don’t think I’ve a suitable and large enough surface to show it all off at once.

And what’s really nice? I’ve packed away my painting table. Just for the night, as there’s plenty more needing some painting.

But, with Bac-Con gathering steam, and a need to get more scenery, I think I’ll be ploughing into my LI buildings and ruins.

Great that you've made such progress, the Odyssey has obviously been a very good idea.

Also what's the horror-looking floor mat near the coffee table there?

That’s my….Horror Rug. Can’t remember where I got it from, might’ve been Etsy.

Also, that’s no Coffee Table. That’s the Magic Box O’Stuff.

Sprays! Acrylics! Aida! Hoops! Dyes! Glitter! Mica Powder! Needles! Moulds! Cursed City!

Lots and lots of random hobby gubbins. I can usually find what I’m after in its unfathomable depths.

Also, should be getting my far from inconsiderable inheritance in the coming weeks. So whilst not going mental, I will be adding some Mechanicum kits to the queue, with any luck just as more Automata are released.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ooooh. Now there’s an idea!

Under my bed, I’ve got the 2nd Ed Space Marine buildings (the cardboard ones with the plastic tops).

Reckon I can dig those out to give me some shape and height inspiration for my Civitas Imperialis kit.

How magic?

Watched a Battle Bunnies guide on painting LI terrain. Which called for Zandri Dust spray.

And guess what the Magic Box O’Stuff provided?

Also gonna take stock of what else I’ve got unpainted. Really not sure I’ve sufficient interest in AoS or 40K these days, so gonna sell some stuff off, have a clear out.

Started the day by continuing to spray the LI buildings.

Lunch in a little over an hour, when I’ll build some more.

I'm blessed I haven't bought too much stuff that I ended up never using, for one. Maybe there's that stug I got for my bolt action Germans that per the rules was a big disappointment although I really love that tank. I mean, just 5 less points for no turret, no mmgs, and no tiger fear special rule, compared to the Panzer IV? Come on.

Rant for another day and place though. Anyway, stock audit and deciding on what to keep, making photos and uploading on eBay or whatever can take a bit of time all of it's one, depending on how much unsued stuff you've got.

Oooooh.

Roof from aforementioned 2nd Ed buildings…..fits the kits. Just about.

Dare I?

I Daren’t. Oddly squeamish about repurposing classic parts.

It’s underway, yes it is. Three more at a similar stage, but needed a further skoosh.

Speaking of which…

Next stage is picking out windows and doors and any other noodly greeblies, followed by a wash of Agrax mixed 1:1 with Nuln Oil.

Day 240

And it’s a lovely big building. Soon as the glue is dried, I’ll get it sprayed up.

Will need a trip into the Magic Box O’Stuff though, as I’m certain I’ve more Agrax in there.

Also another building, with a gothic structure atop I’d built ages ago. Nearly through the contents of this set!

It’s a lovely kit once you stop and think about how you want to assemble it. Typically, I’ll use the floor sections to square off. And the really big one has additional internal floor section to reinforce and ensure it stands straight.

Second photo I used a “two” floor section to square off the front, as the big doors are a single piece. Once that had dried, I whipped out the floor section, and turned it 90 degrees, so I could square off and attach the rear corners, which are four parts in total.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also these relatively quiet two days should turn into a greater frenzy of activity tomorrow.

Lovely as these kits are? They’ve lots and lots of little nooks and crannies, which are easily missed when spraying in a box. But I’ve persevered, and the next three will get their zenithal Wraithbone in the next 20 minutes.

From there, following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cGMlEI5OKM&t=115s

It’s pick out the windows and other greeblies (windows Gun Metal, greeblies brass and gold, though probably just brass/copper for me), and a mixed wash.

Really note sure I can be arsed with the drybrush highlight, but I’ll have to see how it goes.

Day 241

The Magic Box O’Stuff provides!

Just been seplunking in its unfathomable, Stygian depths, returning with three large, pristine pots of Nuln Oil, and one large, equally pristine, pot of Agrax.

Which means, with a pot of Agrax all but exhausted, and a steady hand? I can make a large mix of Nuln Oil and Agrax, ready for uniform washing of the buildings. When I’m at that stage.

And, out of this year’s earlier unpleasantness comes the not-as-good-as-having-your-Dad upside,.

I should, for the rest of the year, be able to Buy , Build, Paint a kit, and repeat as I finish.

Which is an interesting proposition.

When you're forced to have it, its a pretty good upside, I guess.

You're never going to be short of things to do

Sole exception to “buy, build, paint, repeat” a unit at a time will be New Releases. There I’ll get ahead of the game due to risk of out of stock. But, it will mean no more purchases until those are painted.

Thankfully for Mechanicum, I reckon I can smash through the painting super quickly because my scheme is all simple tricks.

Day 242

And that’s the first two buildings with the extra colours on them. And they’ve really popped, even if I do say so myself.

Next up is the pre-mixed wash. Just need to let the Copper dry. Will do the others over the course of this week. Saturday I’ll need something quick to do, as my Floofy Little Helper is spending the night. And it’s hard to concentrate on finer details when there’s a glorious idiot in need of fussing.

Sounds like Saturday might be suited to a spot of Build, rather than Paint?

Or even a spot of Sort, to start figuring out what you do want to move on in terms of 40k & AOS.
