Yes, An Article on yours truly...

Hmm... after talking about myself so much, I hardly know where to begin. How about in the beginning...

I guess the best way to learn is by copying others blogs. Most people start with "When I was a young kid, age 9 I started painting models..." Well I can't say that cause well, when I was a kid I didn't do models. I'm mainly into Anime - secondly comics; particularly graphic novels for their artwork. I like to think of myself as an artist lol. In fact, didn't have alot of exposure to Warhammer, my older brother played a bit with his buddies but it was an on/off fad that didn't last into his later years. I remember the Elves and Lizard Men dominated WAY before 40 k.

So anyway with little or no exposure I was pretty much blown away by the depth and fun that this game has to offer everyone, and concede that yeah, normal people play it too. I started by picking up some books - that's my approach to the world - to take as much information in as humanly possible. And am really impressed by Dan Abnett and his writing. But never wanted to actually play the game - in fact I remember scoffing at the little plastic men in mockery. I resisted starting for quite awhile, and my boyfriend patiently nagging just to try it. So I caved, and played my first game - using Necrons against his Imperial Guardsmen. Blew up like three of his tanks - pretty sure I might have won :P but it made me want to start my own army. At the time I was prettty torn between Chaos Daemons and the Sister's of Battle. I wanted a powerful army of badass chicks and while I'm not quite sure what the daemonettes may technically be - they appear mostly female. So I counted them as such. I also was attracted to the cool bloodthirsty daemons. So Chaos won out and I serve Him. (Or her? who knows).

So with a codex and the beginning of an army my bloodletters, daemonettes, and a very impressive Skulltaker; I may actually have a table-ready army by Christmas. With school right now, it's so hard to find time to paint. However, I like the creative aspect, it appeals to my artistic side. But this hobby will definately take me awhile to assemble and I'm excited to add new units to it. So anyone who wants to take pity on the newbie, let me know everything you can tell me, I'm interested in learning. And I may eventually add stories behind my army. I do have a blog which I try to update, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/262451.page#1070944 (though admittedly I haven't lately), but I'm very excited to introduce my Chaos Space Marines soon!

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
