Hi guys, with my new guard army, the Catachan 222nd, i will be keeping a regimental log, including a full list of soldiers in the regiment, with rank etc. there will also be a regimental report after every battle, including casualty list and WIA/MIA (for wounded characters and people who flee) generally, the hope is, by distinguishing themselves in battle this army will get a nickname of sorts and some people will become distinguished... SO to buisness, i figured it might be fun if YOU, yes YOU had a chance to join the 222nd the idea is, below is a list of positions that need filling ( you will have to start as a private) so give your character a name and then i will put a link here when the regimental report thread is up, so you will be able to follow your soldiers battle, who knows, some of them may be promoted to the Vt Sgt special weapons operative who blows up a chaos lords land raider?
should your soldier die, he will be listed as KIA in the regimental honours, and any soldiers who excel themself will receive letters of commendation on the regimental report thread.
with time, the regiment will grow, taking on new platoons and squads- i'm afraid at the moment none of you can be ogryns.
THIS IS A REAL GUARD ARMY your fate will be decided by my dice, should your character die, you are more than welcome to make a new one, i will have a reserve list if we run out of positions in the army, so leave another name and you will soon see action again!
characters will be promoted the more they survive or impress, if you don't want a promotion- well, life is tough in the guard, and we have a regimental commisar on hand.
Promotions will be announced on the regimental news (which will be in the regimental report post with the battle casualties)
SO the positions that are avaliable are below, if you want a specific position, mention it the platoon number,squad number and the name, if not just the name and i will assign you to the next available position OR if you fancy lucky dip, pick a number from 30-140 and that will be your role, i will tell you what it is SWO = SPECIAL WEAPONS OPERATIVE

I almost thought we had the same regiment for a second, till I checked my notes and remembered that the Musketeers are the 224th.
I'd sign up, but aside from my own Catachan regiment, I'm also a member of the Catach XVIII "Swamp Rats"(a regiment mentioned in the old Catachan Codex, used for a Games Day 2000 event and started by former Outrider and Louisiana native John Barmore).

Hi commisar, the bad news is everyone has to start from an equal rank, so private or SWO mainly, this way its fair on everyone (the reason sentinal pilots are allowed is because 1/ they will have a short life expectancy and 2/they cant really be promoted, if your guardsman does well enough he could well become a Lt.
Thank you all for your comments aswell, and it will be hard to keep up, but i have a numbers system, with every guardsman given a number, the plan being i can then strike off units as they die, giving me a range of say 70-79 being a particular squad.
i'm glad people are taking it up with gusto! and i look forward to hopefully getting you all to be miraculous heroes!
the plan is that i wont be using tournaments towards this, as 1/ i am likely to be stomped and 2/ fighting 6 games could make it hard to keep up with ,this way i will play a game a week and so have a week to fill in the gaps.
lets hope we dont need too many seperat foundings!

Hi guys, we have the regimental report up, also a slight tweak- if your man dies, and you re-apply for a new one, state your number and you can keep your number!
Check out which number you have now on the regimental report!
Who knows,my plan is once the penal legions are full, there will be an execution roll, of all the people who flee from battle

The positions in the Regimental Report include a list of numbers and the honorifics associated with them connected by a hyphen. (ex. 84-SWO Fluffenstuffer), followed by another number.
If you see a number and an honorific that isn't followed by a last name, that position's open!

on that note, have you thought of recruiting in bars? I have heard it is a quite effective method to get a few recruits.

Sam, I was wandering, would you be willing to transfer to a gunner position? Me and Luna both would like to stay as far away as we can from close combat, and having a former sniper might help to pick off all the heretics with powerfists before they get to the tank.

Okay commander, it will be your choice of crew- so make sure you look out for recruits you may want to join - you need a gunner and a driver, also you need a name for your vehicle
COmmander seric- If sam wants to change, this will be his last re-assignment. a 4th reassignment will be treated as wasting of regimental resources on constant changing. so if he wants it, he must make sure he doesnt want to switch. We will not have pintle mounts, far to risky, so if you want him to gun, i will transfer your gunner to sigmund.

Demands, driver, and 'lad' is that any way to address the marshall, is there ooing to be a need to call in the the regimental commisar? if you had checked the regimental report you would see that you report to Cmmdr Arkanian of the Catachan Bell.
I think you better take the driving seat, ain't no better gunner than a Schrute. My Brother Mose could blow a commisars hat off with a demolisher round...'course that was what got him executed in the end...but still the point stands.
COmmander sigmund, i have filled your vehicle with my reccomendations, if you want it changing , let me know, and Schrute, if you try and shoot our commisar you will find yourself in a penal squad quicker than you can say emperor, if you don't end up the same way as your brother that is, so aim true gunner!

Loading will being at 0900 tommorow morning, to be finished by 1200, we will then be on transit for 4 days, unload by 0900 on that day (tuesday by terra calendar) we will then be straight off to the struggling front to fight the tyranid horde. it will be a baptism of fire.

it is useful to have charging russes too, they arn't blessed with the range that you are. arkanians executionr should do well too, 5 plasma blasts every salvo.

Just a thought, if you don't get enough Penal Legionaires, how about this:
The Guardsmen that fled, recieve a second chance. They have to fight the next battle in a penal squad. If they survive they are placed back into their units and if they don't... Well, they didn't even earn a secodn chance...
the idea is, below is a list of positions that need filling ( you will have to start as a private) so give your character a name and then i will put a link here when the regimental report thread is up, so you will be able to follow your soldiers battle, who knows, some of them may be promoted to the Vt Sgt special weapons operative who blows up a chaos lords land raider?
