Kev Adams, the creator of thousands of goblins, orcs, and assorted other classic 28mm models, has been stabbed in his own home by burglars
He was taken to hospital for treatment for serious facial injuries, he was stabbed in the face and chest and they took a knuckle duster to his face and broke his cheek bone.
NEWS JUST IN Big update from Kev (Via Tim Daniel Jonker's post on the Goblinaid facebook page)
Hi all,
Tim here. Kev has asked me to post this on his behalf;
i would like to thank everybody who have helped me over the last few months , many i don't even know so its really touched me how kind people can be.
I'm not a social media person so thats why I've not been communicating but its been a busy year with decorating plus hospital visits etc so thats another reason no ones heard from me
I'm making models again and am back in the groove and having fun , my eye gets dry still but I've yet to have plastic surgery which should raise the lower lid .
my operation was a cancelled due to having a toothache and ive still got to wait weeks before i can contact the hospital
i'm enjoying making models again and have missed my work but its been nice being able to decorate the house and get jobs done that i don't normally find time for.
i'm going to be extremely busy this side of xmas so won't be answering emails until i get a break from working because at the moment ive got lots to do so i don't have much free time .
Kev
Kev also sent me this pic to share!
Fortunately he is out of immediate danger and has now had surgery to rebuild his cheekbones, and ensure his eye is ok.
There's a photo of his injuries under the spoiler
Spoiler:
A group of his friends and colleagues have set up a specific facebook page GOBLINAID to organise fundraising for Kev, and to collect messages of support
A live, dedicated PayPal account and bank account has been sorted to take donations and proceeds from any auctions we run on the Goblinaid eBay account. Donations can be made directly to
goblinaidATfenrisgamesDOTcom.
For the time being, please note that we can only accept donations and not payments made on deposit against the charity mini set - it's just too much admin for us at this stage.
This was posted by Ian 'Geronimo' Brumby of Fenris Games
As somebody who's adored and collected Kev's work forever, and especially since we've got several of his sculpts in our range, I'm going to try and see if we can raise some money for Kev to help with his recovery. Jason Wiebe has already offered to sculpt a goblin which we'll get cast to raise funds, and I'd like to ask anyone with Kev's work in their catalogue if they'd mind having a collection tin on their stands at Salute (Warlords permitting) to raise a few quid more.
Their initial aim is to produce set(s) of 28mm goblins which will only be available as a set, and only for a limited time. 28 sculptors have offered to help (so far) are donating their work for free at what is an especially busy time of year (especially for the UK trade), and Paul Reid of Ral Partha Europe has also generously offered his casting & distribution services to see the project through.
Almost all of the brilliant GoblinAid sculpts. Thanks, so much, to all the talented people who've gone out of their way to create a Gobbo - tops blokes all!

We've been discussing the best way forwards now that we're gathering so many models and it looks like we're going to try and split things into 2 or 3 smaller sets (this will be decided after Salute UK, 20th April). A compliation of WIPs so far is shown below, individual images can be seen further on in the thread
Goblinaid have also put together an Ebay account that they intend to use to auction items donated to help out Kev (eg greens such as those donated by White Knights Miniatures, painted figures etc)
Q. I’m a painter, can I paint something?
A. Yes, feel free. We’ve had lots of enquiries about painting/auctioning/organising events et cetera. You really don’t need to ask permission; we’re not ‘in charge’, more ‘coordinators’ – if you want to sit in a bath tub of mushy peas for a week, go for it! Just let us know what you’re doing so we can promote it.
Q. I’ve got X can I send it to you?
A. You can send items to be auctioned/raffled to either Geronimo c/o Fenris Games or me c/o Ainsty Castings
Wargames Foundry does not have a current sculptor so was unable to submit a mini for goblinaid, so instead they have re-released a self sculpt of Kev himself, together with 5 random 'snorklings' (little figures Kev sculpted out of left over greenstuff while he worked with them)
This is the Kev self sculpt they are offering which comes with 5 random snorklings, Price £12 + P&P . Also available but not yet listed is a 'Kevless pack' with more (probably different) snorkling and no self sulpt. If you want it order the one below, but make a note that you want the Kevless pack.
NOTE: Foundry will contribute the majority of the £12 to Goblinaid/Kev (but they have to deduct VAT to pay the government for any orders from Europe)
With donations and collections at Salute we've raised a little over £600 so far and hope to do a good deal better once the minis are ready for sale. Spare time to get auctions listed on eBay is still eluding me for the moment but they'll start appearing soon and you'll hear about them first here. We're still waiting on (iirc) two sculpts before we can get the whole set off for mastering, but in the meantime anything you can do to help - like buying the Foundry kev set or the Renegade orcs - will go a long way towards making Kev's life a little easier.
Thanks, all - geronimo.
Q. What will happen to the money raised?
A. Having talked it over with Tim and Ian we’d like to initially raise enough to replace Kev’s stolen computer. He’s eager to get back to work as soon as possible and that is something that will help his aim. If we’re really successful it might even have a spellchecker ;-)
EDIT: I re-edit this post to keep it as up to date as possible, if you need to see something that was here and seems to have vanished have a look through the thread, thanks
It a real shock that this has happened, I hope this isn't a serious injury and that he gets over it as soon as.
I remember obsessing over Kev Adams goblins in White Dwarf for allot of the late 80's. The goblin spearman and archers that were out for the release of WHFB 3rd Edition were a real high point for me and still make up most of the badguys in my Advanced Heroquest box.
I hope the scumbags that did this come to a suitably ignominious end, and quickly.
That's bloody awful, thoughts to him and his family. Burglary is a horrible enough thing but to be attacked in your own home, it robs you of your sanctity and sense of safety.
"Morning All, thanks for liking the page. Dags did the groundwork with the logo and FB setup, I've been looking for online fundraisers without much success so far so am looking at potentially setting up a dedicated bank/PayPal account in the meantime. Short term plan is to organise collection tins at shows like Salute, and we've already got several sculptors and painters offering specially-created goblin sculpts to raise some more cash further down the line. More news on Kev and on how you can help as we get it/figure it out
It's good Kev is out of hospital (but the attack seems to have been even worse than first reported)
Goblinaid
Confirmed sculptors so far, making 28mm goblins to raise funds to help Kev out:
Tre Manor (RedBox Games)
Jason Wiebe (Reaper, etc)
Chaz Elliot (WotC, Citadel, etc)
Des Hanley (Otherworld)
Alex Bates (Forge of Ice)
Steven Marchant (Inso)
Stuart Powley (SLAP minis)
Minis to be moulded & cast by Paul Reid (Ral Partha Europe)
Resin bases from me to accompany the set. (Fenris Miniatures)
Assorted painters have offered their services, too, but I'm holding off on further details 'till we can nail something more concrete down in terms of what needs doing, etc.
Hope that suits everyone who's offered their time & services.
Need to get a bank account organised next so that we can take PayPal donations from anyone who can't find us in person.
Mac @ South London Warlords/ Salute has okayed us for collecting tins on the day, so there'll also be goblin green shaky tins on a number of trade stalls for you to throw any spare change into.
Big thanks for all the support so far. Apologies if I've missed anyone!
I've asked on Facebook, and Fenris have confirmed that any models from Goblinaid will be available by mail order (somehow) for those who can't make Salute - they're just not sure on the method of sale yet.
Which is reasonable, given how quickly things are happening.
Hi Tim
Thanks for caring , ive had loads of suport wich is great , i'm not on favebook and cant see poperlt so typings bad
I got three masked idiots in hoods with faces covered who got in my house when i was up here and cornered me in my loft , i got a knife pressed into my face and one of them kept hitting me in face hard with knuckleduster so all my cheekbones are smashed to bits and i look like elephant man , nose is broke in three places and one teeth broken and i cant eat so am having to drink gren goblin juice LOL , they wanted weed and money and jewellery but they had got the wrong house and i wouldnt entertain them and stood up to them hence the injuries so they gave up and made off with my imac .
the slags did similar to an 80 year old lady and tried to suffocate her with plastic bag . last night according to police they did two more raids and hurt people ,
they are being charged with attempted murder on me because my injuries are so severe and of course aggravated burglary but they need to catch them first .
i'm more annoyed at how traumatised my family are and they said they will kill me if police are called but none of them scared me as they all had faces covered up and are little cowards .
if they turn up i'm ready for them and will smash them with my cricket bat because they are nothing as i was caught off guard .
i didnt fight them in close confines of loft because i have a family to care for and in close quarters could have been fatally stabbed and its not worth getting killed over an imac .
Ive got to dash as my partner needs me nearby but will be back working as soon as i can see again .
dont worry i'm a tough old bird and wont be beaten by a bunch of mugs .
you can post this on facebook if you like so everyone knows what happened .
ive got to have a load of metal plates in my face so will get rid of my wrinklelsLLOL
Kev
Takes one heck of a guy to get stabbed in the face, have his cheek bones crushed, and almost get killed over an iMac to look back on it and say "LLOL" not once, but multiple times.
Hope he has a speedy recovery, and keeps coming up with cool work. I'd never heard of him before this, but I'll have to look up some of his work sometime and see what he's known for. Thankfully his family wasn't hurt and his career wasn't ruined.
Here's hoping those tools get what's coming to them.
I like Kev, he is a good guy and sculpted some figures for a friend a while back, was a pleasure to work with on getting those.
Hopefully they get him sorted out, as I know right now even though he is out of the hospital - he will be feeling like hell till they get everything put back where it is supposed to be.

You can see a lot of his old and new work on this blog.
A few more sculptors added to the roll-call, bringing our total to 13 minis - almost a full mould, and a proper little goblin warband
Mark Evans (Crooked Dice, Fenris, etc)
Vermis (Hasslefree, etc)
David Drage (Iron Mammoth, Scheltrum, etc)
Matt Gubser (Dark Age, Rusted heroes, etc)
Sylvain (Golgo Island)
Kev White (Hasslefree)
Not quite sure of the mechanics and the numbers yet, but the minis will probably be limited-time-available rather than limited numbers, and only available as a set, not as individual minis.
More news as we get it, probably after the weekend as Dags is working with Ainsty at shows both days and I've got Salute prep and pre-orders I really should be seeing to.

Horrible picture alert: Kev's emailed us a picture of his injuries and said he didn't mind us posting it here. Having suffered similar injuries myself in the past I can understand how Kev must be feeling, physically and mentally, but here's hoping he recovers quickly and finds his mojo to get back to sculpting.
Meanwhile anything you can do to help - sharing this page, fundraising at your local club, auctions of your own to raise funds to forward on when we get bank/PayPal details sorted - will be very much appreciated.
Poor bugger. They certainly did a number on him. Knowing they've pulled off several similar in the area in the last couple of nights and also attempted murder on that 80 year old woman, their time is numbered and they will be caught. I hope they throw the fething book at them. Likely they'll turn out to be frighteningly young and receive paltry sentences.
Sickening. Absolutely sickening. I wish the best for this brave man and all of the victims of these idiots parading around and hurting people, and I can honestly say I wish the worst on the burglars.
One should be able to feel safe in their own home and not have to worry about people breaking in and hurting you.

Yup, they've managed to make themselves police target no.1 in the area for the foreseeable future. Not sure where you get the age thing; it does rather sound as if they're pumped up on something nasty but they could be anything from 16 to 35 by what we have to go on here. Actually the degree of violence displayed suggests they'd be 20somethings to me.

The guess on age was due to demanding weed and the stupidity of committing their crimes in the same area.
Goblin Captain. The original head for this one was damaged in the moulding process, but I will include goblin and halfling heads (including the Gobboprince de Lu head). Comes with the original three alternate arms.
Goblin Cleric 1. There is some minor moulding damage to the side of the warhammer (the decorative cross is gone), but that doesn't detract from the overall figure.
And finally, a great favourite among the goblin collectors, the (in)famous Gob de Leon. More info on how the auctions will proceed will follow from the Goblinaid peeps.
Another of White Knight's KA goblin clerics masters, also up for auction soon....
Edited by Mannahnin: As previously noted, leave the gun politics out of this thread.
I hope Kev gets better soon, and the Goblin Aid pays any medical bills and loss of earnings he has, but talk of guns is not doing this thread any favours, so let's keep it out of here, please?
Kev seems in good spirits despite everything and is looking forward to getting back to sculpting more of the models we all love.
Meanwhile to update how things stand:
Our initial aim is to produce a set of 28mm goblins which will only be available as a set, and only for a limited time. All of the sculptors who've offered to help are donating their work for free at what is an especially busy time of year (especially for the UK trade), and Paul Reid of Ral Partha Europe has also generously offered his casting & distribution services to see the project through.
Additionally, we've had numerous offers of painted models, classic Kev sculpts, existing catalogue models from a number of firms, scenery, rulesets, and original greens/masters sculpted by Kev, all of which we're planning on auctioning off on a dedicated eBay page somewhere down the line. We've got a dedicated bank account and PayPal account which will be able to accept direct donations once we've ironed out a few things.
Our list of sculptors who've offered to donate their time and skills so far includes:
Tre Manor (RedBox Games)
Jason Wiebe (Reaper, etc)
Chaz Elliot (WotC, Citadel, etc)
Des Hanley (Otherworld)
Alex Bates (Forge of Ice)
Steven Marchant (Inso)
Stuart Powley (SLAP minis)

Davide Tedeschi (Shieldwolf)
George Fairlamb (Black Cat bases, Fenris etc)
Bill Thornhill (Musketeer)
Gary Morley (GW, etc)
Mark Craggs (World of Twilight)
Phil Hynes (Monstertown USA)
for a grand total of 19 goblins, more than enough for a truly nasty warband
Apologies again for the slightly random and irregular nature of our updates on here, everyone involved at GoblinAid also has full-time work and this next month is our busiest time of the year as we approach Salute. We're hoping to have most of the finished masters ready for display at Salute, and South London Warlords have generously agreed to let us rattle a few collection tins there on the day, too, so you'll be able to help out directly if you can't wait for the production sets of minis.
Thanks again for all the support and for sharing this page and its' news elsewhere. Kev really appreciates the support, he's a humble sort of bloke with a Karmic what-goes-around kind of attitude, so lets hope we can all be the agent of Karma in this instance and give back some of the pleasure he's given all of us over the past 30-odd years
Good to see him recovering and good on him with his attitude. Many would be traumatised in similar situations. Takes real fortitude to not let it affect you as much.

First of all, wow, when will this go up for sale? I'm assuming not immediately as things need to be sculpted first... but I would likely be all over buying some goblin sculpts to support in a time like this... and also to get some sweet goblins, which I've been looking for!
They should get one more sculptor on board for an even 20
This situation is terrible and much more serious than I had realized... thanks for keeping us updated and it's fantastic to see so many sculptors donating their time to sculpt a goblin in support!

I think we've just added our 20th sculptor, so we're approaching two moulds' worth of gobboes now, and may have to make this 2 sets of minis.
Thanks for the links and updates on here, guys, it'll all help greatly.
We're aiming/hoping to have all of the greens ready to display at Salute for the biggest public impact, shortly after that Ral Partha Europe have offered their services for moulding, casting, and distribution. The minis will only be available for a limited time and all profits will be going to Kev to help in his recovery and rehab. His work pretty much defined the Citadel look for greenskins during their golden age and beyond, and we just felt it was time Kev got something back from the hobby he contributed so much to. The massive support so far seems to support that view.

Meh, selling or using weed seems to be something for all ages around here - no less than stupidity is I see your point though.
Those greens are amazing. Hadn't seen those before, seems WKM will be getting some business out of this themselves, too. Really, Kev Adams pretty much defined what a nice fantasy goblin 'should' be for decades to come

Salute is April 20th, right? So about a month to have all the greens done... that sounds like perfect timing.
Will put aside some funds for when they go on sale, I assume shortly thereafter!
Rolt wrote: Does anyone know if these guys are willing to accept outside submissions? I'd be happy to donate a scuplt or two to help Kev Adams out.
If you're talking goblins I don't see why not (assuming the quality is high enough... apologies if you're a famous sculptor, LOL)
You never know with the internet
Might not hurt to have a few alternates in case one of the people who volunteered isn't able to pull it off in time, etc. I am really looking forward to what folks come up with for GoblinAid!
I didn't know until now but this guy is the only reason I've got an O+G army. Hope he can recover from this, the injuries aren't the worst thing about it..
Kev is apparently keen to get back to work as soon as he can see properly again
his cheekbones were broken in the attack and he'll need plates/screws put in, and his face/eyes are badly swollen at the moment so it may well be a while
(but thankfully his themselves eyes and hands are ok, so judging from how determined he sounds if it's quicker than that)
Morning...more sculptors added to the crew, bringing our total now to 23 models:
Tim Prow (Wizkids, Heartbreaker, etc)
Paul Gargon (Mad Clown)
Andy Foster (Heresy)
Alex Hunter (Warploque)
We've been discussing the best way forwards now that we're gathering so many models and it looks like we're going to try and split things into 2 or 3 smaller sets, aiming at a price if £10 per set, the bulk of which will go to Kev after bare costs (metal, postage) are taken out.
Hoping to have the first couple of eBay auctions up today, and will add more as we get chance to. Additionally the PayPal donation account *should* go live today or tomorrow, for those who want to donate directly.
Sounds great! I think they'll be able to raise quite a bit with the GoblinAid minis, and selling the greens might give them a little bit of a jumpstart.
If Kev is as good-humored as he seems, when all is said and done I think he should sculpt a beat-up goblin/orc representing himself. I.e. one that is on the mend. Really hoping he recovers with no long-term physical effects.
Kev wrote me he will be undergoing surgery first thing tomorrow morning! They are going to keep him there overnight as they want to make sure he won't lose sight in his right eye as it dropped due to the smashed eye socket. They told Kev he might be back to 'normal' within two weeks which is great news of course!
On another very postive note, the guys over at Renegade (I'll drop in a link when I find one) got into contact with Kev and told him they are going to start producing some of the new orcs done by him and are very generously offering him 50%!!! of the sales! And on top of that they are going to auction off some painted fantasy stuff to boot to raise even more funds! Hats off to you guys!
Kev is over the moon as he really wanted to see the orcs released! Believe my word on it that Kev is quite overwhelmed and humbled by the support of everyone and is feeling so much better because of it!
On a personal not I'd like to thanks you all too! I've been amazed at the support and positive thoughts you all are giving. Jon and Ian, I've not known you for long but you are heroes in my book!!!
Best wishes to Kev for his operation tomorrow.
Like others who have already posted, I have quite a few of Kevin's sculpts amongst my O&G army, they hark back to another time when GW allowed their sculptors to express their skills & art.
Kudos to everyone who has set up Goblin Aid & are giving their time freely to help Kevin & his family recuperate from this cowardly attack.
Thanks for continuing to post the updates, Orlando. Also hoping the surgery goes well, and will be ready to support with buying some gobbos when the time comes!
Orcs were my first and main WFB army, bac when I used to play, and Kev's sculpting aesthetic was a huge part of it. I remember being pissed off when GW stopped crediting the individual sculptors in WD and the annual catalogues.
Just the other day I dug out a box filled with my old unpainted WFB2/3 era orcs and sorted them neatly and carefully into baggies for painting. Most are of course Kev's sculpts with a few from Nick Lund.
I separated a whole bunch of them to get painted simply due to being great models.
The first of the Sculpts for Gobinaid has surfaced (that was fast)
and they've posted some Q&A stuff
A quick GoblinAid Q & A
We’ve had an amazing response in 4 days – thank you all.
A lot of questions are being repeatedly asked, now we’re (a little) more organised we can answer some of them….
Q. I’m a sculptor, can I do something?
A. Yes. All we ask is that it’s a Goblin and 22-23mm tall and you can get it (or imagery) to us in time for Salute on April 20th.
Q. I’ve got X can I send it to you?
A. You can send items to be auctioned/raffled to either Geronimo c/o Fenris Games or me c/o Ainsty Castings
Q. Can I just make a donation?
A. Yes – the dedicated Paypal address will be live in a day or so; just keep an eye on the page and we’ll let you know as soon as it is
Q. What will happen to the money raised?

At first I wasn't sure about that WIP, but the more I look at it, the more I like it . And humorous gobbos are great. I wonder if anyone will get the reference in 5 years, though
Have finally got a live, dedicated PayPal account and bank account sorted to take donations and proceeds from any auctions we run on the GA eBay account.
Donations can be made directly to goblinaidATfenrisgamesDOTcom. For the time being, please note that we can only accept donations and not payments made on deposit against the charity mini set - it's just too much admin for us at this stage.
When we've got a full set of sculpts and costs/payment details for the charity minis we'll be posting here, obviously, but for the time being this is available for those of you who've expressed a desire just to donate something.

Wow, that thing is awesome I might have to get one extra to cut up, move the arms and head to a fantasy gobbo body, but this thing comes close to being worth the rumoured GBP 10 per set on it's own

They obviously won't do that. It would be rather insulting to the sculptors who donated their time and effort to "not make the cut" - especially since they all appear to be professionals in the industry, rather than if say, you or I decided to try to put together a figure with greenstuff and send it in....
Separating them into sci-fi and fantasy might work. Excluding people won't.
yeah, I agree with your sentiments but there has to be some QC. Especially when you consider that some of the minis will be rushed to make the deadline/get involved. Being included shouldn't be purely because it's a free sculpts from someone who's the heart is in the right place.
I see nothing wrong with - 'Thank you for your sculpt but we decided to use other contributors submissions' Cruel to be kind and all that, if your work is subpar, you’ve got to accept being told so by your peers and customers.
Including poor sculpts will put people off buying a set and IMO that is not acceptable. The first two sculpts I can see myself looking at as something I can buy convert and include in my grot horde. In my opinion I think the last sculpt is subpar.
I also got involved in the Judge minty charity mini - They raised £8000+ total! I gave £15 and I got a sweet mini to boot, I love the concept of Aid/Charity miniatures I think it’s an amazing direction for the hobby. I think that judge minty mini also shows you don't need 30 sculpts to get pledges! just 1 or 2 good ones.
I love the idea of GoblinAid and hope to buy something soon, and if nothing takes my fancy I'll paypal a few quid. After this terrible assault happened I've been made aware of how many of Kev's minis I have! and I want to help. Like my blood bowl goblin team... Kev made those! and the GoblinAid link appears on that Stuff of ledgend page! Boom!
"The latest GoblinAid sculpt; this natty little Wizard is by George Fairlamb......
"
(ok, who's he trying to kid, goblin wizard?, goblin in stolen robes impersonating a wizard more like.... real goblin wizards are more individualistic/scruffy/insane, but a neat sculpt none the less, LOL)
In fairness, the pic on my screen is at least 3x the size of the actual sculpt, I have him in hand and he's barely 15mm tall....and is actually a very nice sculpt, not at all subpar IMHO.
Black Dragon Castings/MDP have kindly offered to cast up the bust & plinth (again, limited numbers) so that'll be available, too...sometime after Salute. Couple more sculptors confirmed, this is turning into a veritable horde rather than a small warband....
geronimo wrote: Black Dragon Castings/MDP have kindly offered to cast up the bust & plinth (again, limited numbers) so that'll be available, too...sometime after Salute. Couple more sculptors confirmed, this is turning into a veritable horde rather than a small warband....
And the crowd goes wild!
That's great news it certainly sounds that this will get expensive for me..... but all for a good cause
Automatically Appended Next Post: Goblin Boar Rider from Dave Soderquist incoming
Well it's good that the futuristic gobbos are popular with you guys because so far I'm not as much a fan of them. But I love the fantasy gobbos, which are the ones I'm after (and the only ones that I could use) so hopefully they split it into 2 groups for fantasy/futuristic (maybe more with the number of contributions coming in).
Not sure about that shaman, TBH...
Wolf rider is awesome, though! I'm starting to think that somewhere, it's an awful shame that those cavalry models (and I'm including the steampunk barrel rider here) probably won't get a few extra poses made - they could sell quite well with a bit of posing variety I think.
Love the manic gobbo-mobile - there's a lot of fun to be had in that one I reckon. Looking forward to seeing the final set(s) and finding the cash for them!
At this point I'm kind of hoping they'll just put them all up for sale and let people pick and choose... I have a somewhat "serious" army (chaos dwarfs) so the joke goblins won't fit in too well. But the boar rider and several others feel like must-haves...
Latest news, direct from Kev himself: "Thanks , i really appreciate what you and everyone else is doing to help me , i feel bad as I've not communicated on facebook but I've never wanted to join and the best way for me to get over what happened is to get my head into something creative so i'm compiling lots of music as its a hobby and great fun as i love mixing and doing interesting things with synths and ambient sounds. It means i will be locked at desk when i get back to work as therers lots of new sounds to keep me interested . I'm hoping to give it a bash next week as my eye is improving .I was on a roll and making my first female models and am itching to get back . I'm lucky i didnt lose my sight in right eye , socket was that badly smashed that my eye was lower than it should be and the operation was very complex they tell me . Still got a broken jaw and nose is broken in three places and i was shown xrays yesterday of how my face was all caved in and why they used metal plates to rebuild cheekbones . I hope they catch these idiots before they kill somebody . I'm not happy because they got the wrong house as its my neighbour who they were trying to rob but we both have gravel drives .Theres been a spate of similar robberies and a girl was mugged the other night outside the local shop by three hooded thugs who sound like they could be the same lot . I'm on the mend and will bounce back, theres a new picture attached and i dont mind if you post it so people can see i'm ok .I'm healing very well due to the fact that i drink lots of wheatgrass and juice vegetables and eat a lot of fresh fruit , i'm totally into a healthy raw vegan diet these days so i will soon recover.".
Automatically Appended Next Post: This is excellent news that Kev's recovery is going well and that he's still feeling positive (goodness knows how)
and also worrying that the gang involved seems to still be out there
Also: 9 of the goblin greens plus the bust have now arrived at Fenris Games
(thanks go out to Tom Emmett, Steve Marchant, Mark Craggs, Gav Fry, Kev White, John Pickford, Phil Hynes, Bob Murch, Alex Hunter, and Kieran Billings)
Goblinaid intend to show them at the Salute show April 20th in the UK so have a look in person at the Fenris Games stand if you're attending the show,
and drop a coin or two in the collection tins the show organisers and various stall holders have agreed to have for Goblinaid (& of course have a great time)
Nod. If I can afford them, I'll get the lot and also the bust - including the ones I don't much fancy. I've gotten a lot of pleasure from Kev's sculpts over the years. Some will make it into my O&G army if I ever resurrect it, as well as my Ork force, but I think a lot will just go into the cabinet and RPG trays (assuming they get painted!)
I doubt it'd be doable, but the one thing I feel that would really cap the whole endeavour off would be a new sculpt by Kev himself.
"I would like to thank everybody for their kind support and help , its really appreciated at a time when i cant work and feel under the weather .The models are very impressive from what ive seen and i'm touched by everybodys kindness.. I'm not a facebook member and have avoided joining for years so i'm not being unsociable .
My IMac was stolen so i'm struggling with an old pc that keeps crashing so even doing emails is frustrating for me .
I try and tell myself that i'm ok but family say i'm not my usual self so i reluctantly went to the doctors and found out that i have acute psychological damage as well as physical and the doctor has told me that i need councelling for quite some time as well as regular contact with victim support .
I'm angry that ive had my life messed with and am finding that difficult to deal with at times
Ive been told to rest and to not use the computer or be in too much contact so i will be quiet for a few more weeks while i heal .
I will bounce back and am determined to get making models soon but am signed off for a few more weeks .
Thanks again for all your support ,you have been great and i love you all .
kev"
I know this has been said loads but I've only just seen the pictures and this is just horrible. Glad to see he's recovering though and I hope they get the bastards that did this.
Also great to see the community helping another out!
Another kind admirer of Kev (Daren Barber of Pyre Studios) has just become aware of the attack, he posted the following to his Cambric the Jurist Indiegogo project
"Hey folks,
Progress being made and I hope to have some pics for you on Monday.
Given my own situation I’ve had my head in the sand for a couple of months so I missed the news about Kev “Goblinmaster” Adams. The full story can be found over at Studio McVey at http://studiomcvey.com/forums/index.php?/topic/...
There were two Sculptors who got me to transition from RPGs to wargaming, Kev Adams and Jes Goodwin. I’m outraged when anyone is assaulted in such a fashion and doubly so when it’s someone who had an such an impact on me growing up.
With that in mind I will be auctioning off Cambric Number 1 (of 500), fully painted and including an unpainted production master. It’ll take a couple of weeks to get this sorted (my Daughter is due in 28 days) but there is a link to the paypal donation account on the link above.
Best
Darren"
not sure if he plans to run the auction himself or pass the stuff onto gobinaid to do it, but I'll keep you posted when I find out
Another update from Kev, after we (goblinaid) just sent him the first batch of cash from the generous donations made already:
"I cant thank you enough ,everybody is being so kind and raising cash is going to help me a lot as i do worry about earning enough and want to get back working asap and that alone is worse than the physical pain . i'm stubborn and dont like to accept ive been knocked on my arse but i have to listen to family and take things more seriously regarding my recovery so i wont rush back into it .
It cheers me up loads that so many people care about me .
Sorry i didnt get back yesterday , this pc is very frustrating as its got about 1 gig of memory so crashes all the time .Should be getting a replacement Imac on insurance soon so that will be something to look forward to as i'm used to using a more powerful machine , its funny because my 2003 pc isnt up to scratch and nor am i
Spent three hours in the garden today with the jetter and cleaned all the patio and paving and it looks loads better and its cheered Jackie up too .was very disorientated at times though and right eye is wonky and i look like one of those dogs with saggy eyes LOL Will do some more out there tomorrow and lets hope it warms up soon "
Kev's a tough old boy but this is starting to affect him psychologically now as well as physically, and with mounting bills and the always loveable glacial speed of insurance claims, he is struggling. We can't wait to get the goblin horde into production so that we can help him out more, but meanwhile the collection tins will be out at Salute, there'll be strictly limited GoblinAid badges available at £1 a pop, and we'll be producing limited goodies with the GoblinAid banner logo by Marty Whitmore for auction, too. Salute prep notwithstanding, I'm hoping to finally get a couple of auctions live on the eBay shop this evening.
Meanwhile if you have got a spare couple of squid then please, please forward it on to goblinaidATfenrisgamesDOTcom. Every donation, no matter how small, will really help Kev out.
Cheers, everyone - geronimo

Haven't shown any new greens for a while, here's the latest, just in, from Des Hanley...
I picked up a couple of blisters. I would have got more but the random mix in each blister made it a bit difficult to really try to collet the set so to speak - foundry being mega busy didn't help as people surges for the goblinaid stuff.
I would have got the whole set but there didn't seem to be that option.
notprop wrote: Each pack had a Kev Adams self portrait and about 5 or 6 gobbos.
I confess to have not looked at them too closely as I went straight out after salute. I'll take a look later and let you know.
Ahh,
I think the figures with the Kev Adams self portrait will be little mini sculpts Kev tended to do when he was working with Foundry (they've got a couple of hundred or so), rather than the Goblinaid minis I've been posting here as Foundry was considering casting some of them
(I could be wrong and plans could have changed, but that's my guess)
Well done for buying them, whatever they turn to be, it's a good cause and are cool either way
They were hoping to have all the greens in hand by Salute or shortly thereafter (and it sounds like that's happening)
Also at salute they were intending to discuss how to assign them to moulds (eg mould of SF, mould of Fantasy etc)
Mould making & casting would then be done by RalPartha Europe.
Once they know all is up and working they'll open up pre-orders for a time (probably a month or so), orders are likely to be by the set, with the sets being what comes out of a single mould for ease of packing
then get all the casting and shipping gets done
I'll keep this thread updated and change the tile when orders are open
Most of the Gobbos have arrived at GoblinAid HQ (we don't really have an HQ; it's really the only tidy bit of Geronimo's desk) - once the last ones have made their way across assorted oceans they'll all be going to Paul RPE for casting. Once they're there we'll be making an announcement on how to get them
In the mean time, you'll have noticed that only a couple of the GA Goblins have been given names. Every good gobbo (and these are really good gobbos!) needs a name so it is time for a little competition.... Name That Gobbo; just post your suggestion in the comments and the ones that make me, Tim & Geronimo laugh the most will get used
Cheers - Dag
NOTE: The post is from facebook, if you want to name a goblin pop your suggestions on the goblinaid page there
Wow, those snorklings were great. Those were done by Kev Adams? They look like a different aesthetic. There's mention of there being 17 different ones, but I only see 5 in the thread. Are they still available somewhere or OOP?
Thanks for the pics of the GoblinAid minis from Salute, Navarro!
As far as I know Kev used to knock them up with leftover greenstuff whenever he was sculpting so Foundry has a couple of hundred knocking about that they'd never done anything with.. (maybe a few were released ?)
When they decided to release the Kev Adams self sculpt for goblinaid they also mastered some of the snorklings to sell along with it for the cause at salute
they seem to have been so popular that they have said they (random packs?) will appear in their ebay store 'soon'
We sold 22 Little Kevin plus snorklings packs at Salute. Next show we will take a bigger sign. The nearest competitor was our "Dad's Army" pack. We only sold 10 of them: so Mr Mannering lost hands down. Cash on its way to Kevin. We have put Little Kevin plus snorklings up on our new website today (http://wargamesfoundry.com/our-ranges/goblinaid/)
Call in and pick up a set if you are passing our factory in Nottingham!
Cheers
Marcus at Foundry"
Go and buy one now!
Dags
This is the Kev self sculpt they are offering which comes with 5 random snorklings Kev also sculpted while he worked with them, Price £10 + P&P (£6 flat fee to the UK so if you find something else you want to order too, or buy multiple packs with a group of mates it will work out better value
NOTE: Foundry will contribute the majority of the £10 to Goblinaid/Kev (but they have to deduct VAT to pay the government for any orders from Europe)
Nice that they're offering the snorklings up for sale. Can't wait to see the donated GoblinAid sculpts up, too. Very curious about how they will group them together for sale.
Hi All
Just really wanted to thank everybody again for their kind and generous support .
The donations are really helping us to get through this difficult period and i'm very impressed by the generosity of all the people that have made these wonderful inventive sculpts .I hope i get a set of them this message is a short one as my eyesight makes it hard for me to type for too long due to the glare of the screen hurting my eye and my vision is not up to its usual sharpness .
My bad eye is slowly mending but is still wonky and i feel disorientated a lot of the time I get white flashes and can sometimes have double vision , my right eye is still lower than left eye due to the surgery that was to repair the damaged eye socket but because of the injuries that were inflicted the surgery has not stopped my eye from dropping as there was no bones in my face left unbroken to support my eye .
Ive tried looking at models but right now its not good and frustrating for me because i can only see them clearly if my left eye is closed .
I am back at the hospital and seeing an eye specialist on wednesday and hope for the good news that my vision will return to normal and my current wonkyness is due to the healing process ,so we are keeping our fingers crossed that I will heal as fully as I can be expected to given time and rest .Once again thank you for all the support , just knowing that so many people care and want to help is a huge morale booster for my family and myself at this moment in time .
kev
The recovery process sounds like it's going to be a bit longer than I had hoped. Definitely helps to know that so many people are out there rooting for him, I'm sure, and also supporting him in a sense with this campaign.
"Hi Everybody again Thanks Wanted to let you all know that I've seen a top eye specialst today who told me that due to bottom lid being pulled down during initial surgery it has exposed eyeball and its got infected and thats why my visions been wonky and eye not healing well for weeks . He has said i will need another operation to repair bottom lid and to raise it to normal level and doing that involves plastic surgery so i haven't a clue how long it will be before i can get back to making models but at least i know that visual cortex isn't damaged and eyesight will be ok once its all healed so thats a massive relief . Might have to wait a while for operation though . CID came round the other night and told me they can't catch the cowards that attacked me which is another let down but they will eventually slip up . They had three suspects but couldn't charge them due to lack of evidence . Meanwhile i have boxes of different eyedrops that i have to apply four times a day plus cream to help keep the infection at bay . Will keep you all updated as things happen . Thanks for all of your love and support . kev"
(but the really good thing is it looks like Kev will get full vision back after the infection clears up and he can then have a second surgery)
Automatically Appended Next Post: Renegade miniatures promised to release a number of Kev's Orc sculpts (some I think are new but I can't be certain). I believe the idea is that 50% of the profits from these will go to Kev
I've ordered a couple of packs of the Kevs Orcs from Renegade miniatures so I'll let folk know what I think when they arrive
No further news from Goblinaid on the warband yet (last posted info was they were waiting for 3 sculpts from abroad to arrive at Fenris Games (the collection point before casting begins)
Another update both from Kev himself and Goblinaid
Latest update from Kev:
"its really kind of you and Dags to go to all the trouble to help me , you have been a brilliant help and i dont know what i would have done without you as we are still struggling to get any government help because i'm self employed ....My face is still numb and on occasion i get nasty pains but its not being able to use my eye properly thats really getting to me , I've had my independence ripped away from me and i hate it , eyes not actually damaged and will be ok but i definitely need new glasses and i hope once I've had plastic surgery and its all healed i will be back to normal .Was looking at one of the 4A goblins the other night and hoping to get focussed but my eyes don't seem to know each other and i cant focus properly right now , even walking about can be disorientating because my visions on a weird slant and at night if i look at the stars i tend to see two instead of one ....Any amounts of money help , its one thing being attacked and put in hospital but worrying about buying food and paying bills is a lot more painful and not being able to work is very frustrating . if there was plenty of jobs i would be out on a building site or similar , grafting but our son is finding it impossible finding any work and he's younger .
With luck my operation will be soon .
will keep you posted ."
So some on if you can spare a few pounds or dollars or everything else why not make a donation to
With bills, it's probably going to be 3-5 weeks before I have funds available for this again. I'll certainly be supporting the cause, though.
I have found it a little bit disappointing how several of the other companies that have come out of the same period of GW as Kev appear to have done nothing. I know money is a bit tight, but I really expected Warlord and Mantic to do something for Kev (though I may have some of my timelines crossed as to whether Ronnie or Paul S worked with Kev, but I;m sure John must have.)
Obviously I expected nothing from GW, but I'm still disappointed, given how much Kev created there. Like Rick, I guess.
Almost all of the brilliant GoblinAid sculpts. Thanks, so much, to all the talented people who've gone out of their way to create a Gobbo - tops blokes all!
We've got 3 still to arrive and then they'll be off for casting.

Some official Goblinaid Ebay auctions (on the UK site)
The first few GoblinAid auctions are finally up on eBay
Sorry for the delay in getting these out there - the massive workload of Salute and Cthulhu Wars has stopped me getting a hundred other jobs done. There have been issues with the eBay platform itself as well as with PayPal and associated bank accounts, but hopefully everything is now working properly.
First up - four sets of gobbos sculpted by Kev from 4A and Midlam minis respectively, all with Fenris resin bases and free postage, worldwide. Every penny of profits (after eBay/PayPal fees) will go straight to Kev.
More minis to come, plus original greens, badges, and other bits and pieces as we get to them.

(but there are only 2 sculpts to arrive which are already in the post from the USA so it's likely to be soon)
Automatically Appended Next Post: Morning GoblinAiders,
Just a couple of reminders:
Firstly GoblinAid will be in attendance at Sheffield Triples (UK) over the coming weekend.
On the Ainsty Castings stand we'll have the GoblinAid badges that you can have in exchange for a shiny £1 coin and Wargames Foundry will be there with the 'Little Kev and Snorklings' GoblinAid pack.
Secondly don't forget to check out the GoblinAid auctions on Ebay:
Crooked Claw Miniatures (a private project to create a Kev Adams goblin horde, where the project commissioner also makes the sculpts available for sale) has decided to give 10% of all sales to the Goblinaid project
First batch of auctions is all done, and we've just sent another couple of hundred quid to help Kev out. Thanks again to everyone who made a bid, and congratulations to Paul Atkin and Nick Alderman for their winning bids
Any ETA on when they plan to have the GoblinAid sets up for sale? I was expecting they might do it a bit like a pre-order so that they could sell them before having them all cast, but maybe they're planning to have them actually cast first.
"Thank you loads for the latest lot of money and the last , i'm sorry ive not been in touch but it was a bad week last week with my elderly neighbour dying and we went to his funeral which was BIG .
It left me spending most of the week alone and feeling down as I've known him for half of my life .It's been a testing old year so far .Got another hospital appointment at nine in the morning so i'm hoping they will have a date for the operation , at least once thats done and dusted i can heal and get back working .
Have tried doing bits and can see ok but eyes are well out of focus and i need to go boss eyed to use both eyes so its frustrating .
Will let you know how it all goes later tomorrow."
Thanks again to everyone who's donated and bid so far, every penny really does make a big difference for Kev at the moment. More auctions going up on eBay later this week - and the greens are heading to Ral Partha for moulding, too
I'll be picking up the Foundry self-portrait pack tomorrow when I get paid. Out of interest, does anyone know what that thing in his hand is supposed to be? Cigar? Burrito? Sausage Roll? Microphone?
I couldn't tell what it was despite (or because of?) the foundry paint. To be fair, probably despite. Well, Kev hails from that era of the design studio, after all...
You spotted that the greens are on their way to Ral Partha Europe for casting?
So goblin horde buying gets a step closer!
Automatically Appended Next Post: We've seen some of these before, but with some more pack info posted, and the greens off to the caster I thought it was worth repeating the first 3 packs
Pack 1 The Riders: With David Soderquist, Mark Evans and John Pickford

Pack 3 The Historical Ones: With Paul Hicks, Werner Klocke, Gael Goumon, Stuart Lawrence Powley, Alex Hunter 1, Sonny Bundgaard and Jason Wiebe.
Pack 4 The Fantasy Ones: JohnEdwin Manor, Mati Zander, Gavin Fry 1, Bill Thornhill, Pedro Navarro1, Minghua Kao and David Drage.
Pack 5 The Fantasy Twos: With George Fairlamb, Thor Pasadenas, Des Hanley, Davide Tedeschi, Elye Alexander and Bob Olley.
Pack 6 The Fantasy Threes: With Warren Beattie 1, Jo Brumby, Tim Prow, Tom Emmett 1, Alex Huntley, Sylvain Quirion and Kieran Billings1.
(I think there's probably one more pack to go based on my rough count)
(NOTE: No prices or ordering info yet kids, they're not quite ready yet, but getting closer)
I didn't spot that, you are my only source for news on this .
The packs look great, I think Pack 6 is my favorite, closely followed by Pack 4 (only really considering the fantasy ones, though, since that's what's useful to me). I wish the riders pack didn't have a mix of fantasy and sci-fi, as it seems like no matter what that pack won't be fully useful to most people.
Of course they will! I'm buying them to support Kev and (probably, eventually) paint up as display models. Getting a couple of figures that don't fit an army perfectly isn't an issue (I have fantasy O&G as well as 40k) - but the huge range of styles all but guarantees some odd ones. In this case, it's not really significant.
If you're looking to make whole units from the cav, maybe see if a 40k/Sci fi player wants to do a swap? I'm sure these models will hold some trade value regardless, being what they are...
Ordered my stuff from Foundry. I went for 6 Kev-packs in the end. I'll probably convert some into different armies, maybe diorama one. More likely most will go into a box for awhile, but I'll try and paint up at least one as a tribute to the man who's given me a lot of pleasure from his sculpts through the years.
Got some Dredd stuff as well, as I'd always been wanting to get around to buying them.
We know you 'feel the love' but as you are a 'respected' regular poster
I thought I better post a counter argument in case you swayed a casual browser into deciding they might not need that one
(although that's clearly crazy talk, everybody needs them all! )
Axazelx, well done for your purchases, hope you don't end up with too man duplicate snorklings (unless they are the really cool sculpts you want more than one of )
Yeah sorry, apparently I was grumpy when posting last night . Point well taken! I do wish they had paired just that group differently, but there are options
Fantastic day out for GoblinAid via Fenris/Ainsty/Foundry yesterday at Partizan near Newark. First outing for all of the GA greens in one place, prompting lots of oohing and ahhing and taking of pictures. They'll be on show again this coming weekend at Broadside in Sittingbourne and then the whole lot will be headed to Ral Partha for moulding and casting.
On top of that, Kev himself managed to get out in the fresh air and was over the moon with all of the models and couldn't thank us - and all of you - enough. He's still a good way from being able to work again yet and every penny has really helped him out.
for those in the north (of England) there will be a GoblinAid collection tin on the Scheltrum Miniatures stand at the Durham Wargames Show this Saturday!
Another successful public outing for all of the GoblinAid greens at Broadside yesterday - admired and adored by everyone who saw them. Next stop - parcelling them all safely up and getting them to Ral Partha Europe.
(hopefully that means ordering info will appear soon)
Thanks for continuing to update us, Orlando! Ordering info would be good, before it loses steam (although I doubt it will, just in a hiatus while folks wait for the sculpts to be "buyable").
No news on the goblin horde figures yet, but there's an auction up for a classic gobin doomdiver
GoblinAider Rickhard Ågren has done a brilliant job on this Doom Diver and had put it up on eBay with profits going to GoblinAid. So please have a look, make a bid and share far and wide on your own pages, blogs and forums.
Something different for GoblinAid - Andy at Heresy Miniatures not only sculpted a new gobbo for the GA set(s) but also kindly donated a handful of original master castings of the model.
I'll be listing a VERY limited edition of these on the GA eBay page soon, but in the meantime, for a chance to win one yourself free, just leave a comment on this thread and share the GA page with anyone you think might be interested.
For reference, this evil little chap's 22mm to the eye
- Geronimo
(the win this master casting competition is on the Goblinaid Facebook page.... You need to go there to enter!)
Automatically Appended Next Post: and if you don't win this one, they've put another of the master casts up on ebay
Great news, the masters are all with Paul at Ral Partha Europe and mould making has begun!
the first handful of figures have gone into a mould- here we go
Goblinaid
Morning GoblinAiders, we think this is the definitive list of all the GA sculpts that are now with Paul at RPE for casting. If we've missed you, mega apologies and drop us a message!
Obviously this number of sculpts is going to take a while to be master mouded, production moulded and then cast - especially round Paul's full time work but hopefuly they should be available fairly soon and a bigger version of the last ones as they've not been shown before in the thread

Ey yup Goblinaiders! Just finished a 2 hour phone conversation with Kev and he has asked me to pass on the following; he feels bad that he is not really a facebook person and does'nt have the time to reply to the goodwill messages. However he does get to read every single message from the community that wish him well and each one he values and is humbled with appreciation for what you say. So in a nutshell "I humbly appreciate everything that the community has done for me and my family, whether it be a donated sculpt, a goodwill message or a purchase from the Goblinaid store. A big shout out for Dags and Ian! Thank You so much!"
Ah, that's why I didn't see Andy Foster's before- it's part of the "Last Ones" (I'm guessing that means they arrived last!)
Is there any chance you could put up a big version of the "all together" pic, and just spoiler tag it? I checked it's url but couldn't find a bigger version.
yeah<
Woooo it's almost time!!! I wants my modern ones! Yay!
I also want gaels mini in pack 3... Is there a way to cherry pick single minis at a greater cost ?
Yeah, I'd love to cherry pick, too (and pay more, of course). But I have a feeling they'll only be selling packs for logistical reasons :-/. Hoping otherwise, though!
Good to see this coming to fruition. Are they going to be available as the full packs as well? Depending on the eventual cost, I'd like to get them all, probably at once, but it'll depend on the total costs.
I got my Foundry GoblinAid stuff several weeks ago. They're also good stuff.
Somebody asked roughly that question and this is the response from Paul from Ral Partha Europe
"RPE Miniatures and Games It will take me many weeks to get them all into production, I think we will start selling them as soon as they are moulded so that we can get some money to Kev sooner, when he most needs it. Once they are all done we will offer the full set as some sort of special deal."
as he says the faster folk buy the faster they can get money to Kev (so if you're in position to do this go for it)
but if you do want to wait (understandable if you're facing overseas postage) it sounds as if you may be able to get everything at once eventually
A bit more info from Paul at RPE responding to a question about how long it will take to cast them all
RPE Miniatures and Games It's going to take a while I'm afraid, (there are 42 sculpts- some of them mounted models, some pretty complex pieces that I'll have to cut up -like the gangnam goblins). I hope to get a batch of six out every two weeks or so, sooner if I can manage it around other work.
so we're probably looking at 2-3 months or so to get all 7 sets cast up (so with them that spread out it may be worth considering multiple purchases even if you're abroad if you're at all impatient!)
and
RPE Miniatures and Games We could have waited until all the figures were mastered before releasing them, but we thought that the sooner we could get some money to Kev, the better. The next master mould will be cooking tomorrow....
and on a personal note I've been told my 1st set shipped today (and and I've heard at least one other report of this too)! so my horde should start soon
They look great, thanks! I'm after Tre Manor's and Andy Foster's... but as I think Andy's is in the last set, I may pick up Tre's and a few other ones that I really liked first when they become available, and Andy's in a later order.
this is the LAST of the masters of this figure, so if you missed out on one of the previous auctions grab it now or you'll have to make do with an ordinary casting when they get to that set
This auction is for a set of six 28mm metal miniatures, sculpted by Kev Adams for Mike Burns' egyptian harem range, superbly painted by Paul Sanderson. All mounted on matching resin flagstone bases from Fenris Games.

No problem
Here's the link directly pasted from the golbinaid facebook page
goblinaidATfenrisgamesDOTcom
(replace AT with @ and DOT with .)
you need to log in to your paypal account and 'send money' to that email address, Goblinaid will then pass it on to Kev Adams.
hope this works for you now, and thanks for the support
Last info was from this post by one of Kev's friends on the Goblinaid facebook page (1st July)

I got my second set through the post this morning and hope to get the single piece figures cleaned up and undercoated when I get in this evening
GA13 Yann Hoarau's Goblincopter looks fantastic but will need a fair amount of work to put together so it will have to wait until later (along with the mutipart minis from the first set)
Automatically Appended Next Post: GA11 Steven Marchant's Judge Gob painted up by the sculptor and posted on facebook
Ooh, and that has my favorite one (the one on the right). Might have to spring for it early, although I was hoping to wait till all the ones I wanted were available to save on shipping.
A sneaky addition of a single mini & familiar from the 'Fantasy Two's' set has appeared on the RPE site, i'm guessing the rest of the set will follow when casting time permits
and Paul from Ral Partha Europe included a little note letting me know that Goblinaid was able to send £500 to Kev Adams last month
so a big thanks to all who are supporting the project, that's a nice solid contribution we have made to Kev's welfare and recovery
and from Paul on facebook
RPE Miniatures and Games posted toGoblinaid
Next batch of releases should be the cavalry ones, plus the gangnam gobbos! It stretched my mouldmaking abilities and left the master in quite a lot of parts, but the master moulding is done and I'm happy to say that it will be a one-piece casting
Drunk on mushroom wine the Gob-father received wisdom while hanging from the world tree.... Poking your eye out with a sharp stick hurts.... This wisdom made him the tribes shaman
My 'Riders' set arrived today and I thought folk might like to see the different parts each are made up of
GA22 David Soderquist's Goblin BOAR (mislabelled WARG, but it is a boar)
GA23 Mark Evan's Goblin Wolf Rider
both of these have the riders nicely cast as separate pieces and size wise they are about the same so (with some converting) you should be able to persuade them to ride each others mounts if you wish,
GA24 John Pickford's Green Barron
the barrel cart (nice detail on the rear) is done as a hollow 2 piece cast including the riders legs. The riders body is a separate part, and so is the wheel with hands attached
NEWS JUST IN (from Geronimo at Fenris Games): have got an email from Kev with his latest op news (they're taking a skin graft from the roof of his mouth to rebuild his lower eyelid) which arrived while I was away, and he says even the little trickledown payments from the RPE sales of partial sets are helping greatly 8)
Presenting the Goblin 'Fabio' (GA15 Jo Brumby's Goblin with axe),
Zog works out every day to keep those Abs ripped, accessorising with loincloth by 'dirty old bed sheet' and an axe by 'stolen from behind the woodshed when nobody was looking'
Sorry for the complete lack of updates on my (geronimo) part recently - life's been somewhat hectic. Message from Kev, including details of his cancelled op last week:
"Hi everybody , A massive thanks for all those who are helping and have helped me , i'm feeling really well and happy , eye is a lot better and i aim to be starting to make models in a few weeks time , i can focus again thanks to a prism on glasses but am very rusty and need to practice so will do bits here and there over the next couple of weeks to sharpen up . I reckon i will need new glasses soon as ive had a wee bit of trouble seeing up close . When i went for a walk later to go volunteering i was very disorientated and couldnt walk straight but i think its to do with my focus adjusting. The operation was cancelled because of a toothache and its going to be a while now before they can operate so ive decided to go back to work once i'm signed off , even if my eye is a bit dry, i would rather have my independence back and get back making models .
The first model i'm going to make is a goblin decorator based on myself with eye patch tin of paint , bush , apron and maybe some rolls of wallpaper .I want all the proceeds of the model to raise money for Syrian refugees and hope it will sell better than my usual models . Its my way of saying a big THANK YOU to everybody who has helped and its my way of showing appreciation for everybodys kindness .
Over the last few months ive kept very busy and completely re decorated the house and painted the exterior plus ive been busy in the garden , its helped me no end with healing and ive nearly finished now and will have plenty of time for working again once i start . Obviously i need to go and have this horrible operation later on and will be off work again while it heals so i will look like a pirate for a few weeks while it heals .The operation involves taking a sample of flesh from roof of mouth to graft below eye so i have a lower lid again.
It wont be for a while though because i cant book for the op until my teeth are fixed and ive been told to wait six weeks after the dental treatment before contacting the hospital, my dental appointments at the end of the month so its going to be around two months .
Nice painting, Orlando! Can't wait until those last waves are done and I'll buy some of these...
Good to see an update from Kev, I kind of wish he could've had the operation to get it over with but good that he's in high spirits and starting to sculpt again!
I'm having fun painting them when I find time, and painted minis may sway fence sitters to buy when a green does not so I get to show off for a good cause
(the Judge Dredd Goblin was not one of mine but was done by it's own sculptor, and if anybody on Dakka has painted one DO please post it on the thread, it's great to see these minis come to life)
and Nurse Gobbo's (GA08) sculptor Paul Gargon has posted a WIP of her to facebook
and James Degenhardt has just posted his version of GA12 Kev White's Goblin batman (that denim is great)
and news from, a bit of a health related delay on the next release
RPE Miniatures and Games
Hello, just a quick post to let you know that there will be another batch of releases coming very soon- it would have been much sooner but I'm having a bit of back trouble (sciatica) once it's calmed down I can resume heavy lifting and mould wrangling duty...
