Endtransmission - It now has the right amount of equipment to make it fit in.
LDD - That is exactly why I thought the face worked. Its like he is surveying the scene and thinking "same old s**t just a different day."
Neil - Indeed. Hopefully he can add a few lines to his story in July.
SJM - It was going one of two ways - never use the auto/flamer gun or save it was some alterations. Worth the risk...all I'd have lost would have been a model never seeing the light of day again.
Dreadclaw - thank you.

Hi Chaps and Chapesses
I got married and that really gets in the way of painting and modelling. I should point out not that I minded its been a blast. I didn't get to play any Inq28 on my wedding day but I did manage to get in some Croquet, Giant Jenga and Connect Four. So having not picked up a paint brush or modelling tool for a month I decided to finish off the merc before I go back to work tomorrow :-(
I am glad he is going in a unit of mercs since he is a little rough round the edges. Still super happy with his weaponry. I will base all the models together so they are all matchy matchy.
Hope you're all well.

Alright guys. Had a bit of inspiration today when I remembered I had this head. Reused an autogun originally planned for a scavvy (with eye stalks) and the rest just came together.
While building him his personality came out. The price on his head is so high that he has had numerous run ins with Boodsworn bounty killers. A Malfian noble who has used the last of his fortune to escape across the galaxy to Dalthus. Plotting revenge against his younger sister for stealing his position as head of the family.

This evening I feel I have been channelling Neil, so I am even happier how it turned out. This guy was never going to get used in my hopeful guard squads as I feel a plasma gun in the hands of guardsman is unrealistic to the background. But on a merc it seems more appropriate. I really wasn't planning on making this chap or the third (chapess) that is still not finished.....but the mercs will have to be on hold becuase I am now stumped because I have run out of the respirator/fan backpack cultists. But once I get four more I can finish off the squad, leader and a sniper.
AUGmaniac - Cheers. Time and a massive bits box are all you need.

The next merc is from the planet of KA-AX, a feral death world in the Phrell subsector. Where I see the indigenous population as devolved humans. Hence the big head....all the better for head butting you with :-). I also used a dwarf pad because it fit. So I imagine the Squat has given this chap an armour plate in thanks for something or as payment. I assume this chap is a good tracker and The Mercy recruited him after some mission or other on KA-AX.
I am very proud of his handcannon! Grav pistol and barrel from a lightning gun. Plus all feral worlders need ye-olde worlde weaponry so he has a crossbow maglocked to his back. Alas he is not quite finished yet, I need some more Elysian shoulder pads.
Krauty - this is conversion one of two using Mr Potato Weapon as a base model.

Also must give much love for the Escher. One of GW's best.

KernelTerror - Cheers. Yeah he really does look like a proper thug. The head is fantastic for the devolved look.
youwashock - Thanks. The Eshers are just phenomenal and aged so well. Jes Goodwin is a master. The crossbow was just for fun and besides if I ever use the squad in 40k I can claim it has the same stats as a lasgun ;-)

Got the units 2nd plasma gunner built. From looking at the pics some bits need a little tidy up and a mould line on the bedroll. Very happy with this ones pose.

Alright guys
So now I understand why people don't paint armies full of individual characters with similar dynamics and colour schemes! Its getting a little tiresome but I am still determined to finish the minimum playable amount. Well behind schedule of course. These two have been painted quicker because I have no hobby time at the mo and I've sneaked them in so to speak.
I finally painted black skin and blimey its difficult. I'm also regretting the head choice because the eyes are just sunken....and its all puffy. I think he is allergic to nuts. The plasma guy is flicking all my buttons and I want more hooded heads.
I'm still thinking of upgrading to a better host that dakka galleries because the compression is doing my shots no favours, been saying that for ages though.
Since I am sneaking in a hobby day I feel like building another Ogryn.

I don't have much time for modelling etc at the moment but a handy bout of insomnia* has helped me finish this chap off.
* its really not that handy waking up at three thirty in the morning.
Loblolly Slaaneshii Cultist. For his background I envisioned him once being beautiful and as punishment a daemon (or perhaps a rival cultist) look his skull and face. Leaving his brain, eyes etc and spinal cord undamaged, how they just float in a armourglass dome helm. He is now an obese drug addict with bed sores. His noise weapon is linked to his own brain via a "loyal imperial servant interface", so rest assured the head on his back is very much alive! The front of his mask is a rebreather but also acts as a "hand flamer" but instead of shooting flame it releases a hallucinogenic gas.
The broken syringe has been repaired. I'd probably not have noticed until after the undercoat if I'd not taken these pics.

you have totally rocked out this guy love it all back story to the conversion work, every thing here fits and just looks so right.
The head in the box is a clever addition almost an act of vengeance for what was done to him, the drug implants enhance the story of his addiction perfectly.

OneManNoodles - I've done a combaty Nurglii Lord....it was time to make a shooty version. Champion of Slaanesh - with Daemonette loincloth
As soon as I saw the Slaughter Priest I knew I had to convert him and for some reason I thought he would make for an interesting Slaaneshii Champion. I also needed a character to carry around the tortured remains of a daemonette and this guy is huge!!!
57468
Post by: Bruticus
Great!
It's such a cool model, and I agree - the first thing I thought was Slaanesh too (or should it be ur-Slaanesh?)
I think it is one of the most interesting plastic kits GW have done because it looks so unusual, almost like a mini from a different range.
I think the weird spine growths are very Slaanesh and you've added to them perfectly.
The shield on his arse maybe looks a bit big - but I think that will depend on how you paint it. And the mace - maybe some OSL? It doesn't look super intimidating at the moment, more like a torch.
Love the hairdo, I thought the gs on his lip was a moustache for a moment.

Post by: PDH
Bruticus - we're on the same Slaaneshii page again. I know what you mean about the minis character but it still has some GW spirit to it. The spine "growths" are actually attached via piercings. As for the shield it is big but this guy is huge and so the arse shield is actually the size of a buckler. As for the mace he fills it with potpourri
Migs - Cheers
youwashock - damn I now need a chained up slave cowering at his feet. I know what you mean about his side and shape fits the Apostates.

Blatherspite
The final member of my Slaaneshii Warband. I really rather like the androgynous face combined with the femine torso and the throw back vibe to the 80's Slaaneshii snake champion. Talking of 80's vibe her shoulder pads have come straight out of a power suit.
evildrcheese - Not that you can see but her armoured boob tube is attached to his belt. There is also a chain fused to the ends of her severed arm running round his back.
GiraffeX - All three are going to get undercoated tonight.
Sageheart - Cheers
Curnow - Scale pic! Massoooof
OneManNoodles - He is a character but I feel I've shoe horned this chap into the warband.....because I couldn't work out how to make a robed child holding the severed head of a daemonette. (turns out that Watchers in the Dark don't look like robed children).
Nathaniel - Yeah the bows were a good way to make him look less Khorney.

LeCacty - It depends entirely on who I'm playing with. But the narrative of the game comes first then its either Inquisitor rules or modified Necromunda. Loblolly - Slaaneshii Cultist.
Loblolly is a drug addict and layabout. In years past Loblolly had the most perfect face, he was considered to be one of the beautiful and lithe man in the Dalthus sector. He joined the Silique and descended into debauchery and vice, he gained weight and many addictions. His face and skull were taken by Valadil Eluch, who left his spinal column and brain intact, to the Champion of Khorne's amusement. His brain now floats in an armour glass dome. He is linked to his sonic weapon via an interface of a still living decapitated eccliesiarchy priest. Loblolly projects images into the priests mind and as the priests vocalises his horror the sonic weapon belches concussive and vile sounds.

Pursser-Sin, A renegade of the Emperor's Children
Pursser-Sin, A renegade of the Emperor's Children who lived on a daemon world within The Howling Stars for ten thousand years. He was a chieftain to a large tribe of Slaanesh Worshippers on the moon of Grace. He has recently left his position when the Daemonette Ske'reetrii was freed from her stasis vault on the Mechanicus space station Iron Port. It is his preordained duty to carry her bound and living carcass to the bowels of Newsham Keep and reunite her with her sisters. Newsham Keep is rumoured to be an abandoned Black Templar fortress monastery in the Loidis subsector; in reality it has a much darker past leading back to the great crusade and the off spring of Lorgar. Pursser-Sin acts as Ske'reetrii's mount and bodyguard.

Inquisitor Klain Inson, Ordo Scriptorum
Inson was originally a member of the Dalthus Ordo Xenos. Following the devastating attack by Orks at Sword Point, Inson led a covert guerrilla war against the enemy, his request for aid going unheeded. In this campaign Inson was severely injured, losing most of his left side. Eventually the request for military support was found by a lowly scribe, attached incorrectly to a treatise on crop mites, and took four years of bureaucracy to eventually find its way into the correct hands. Inson and the remains of his team were rescued by a Death Watch force lead by Watch Captain Helmawr himself. When Inson’s body was fixed he resigned from the Ordo Xenos and travelled the pilgrim routes to Terra. It was here he came before the Ordo Scriptorum and retrained under the watchful eye of Inquistor Stiber Gorst.
Servitor Scribe. Model: Functional Autoquill H.Pckrd657
This is a low value model used on expeditions before its work is transcribed by a more expensive servitor or scribe.
Redaction/Expungetion Cultist Cerrius Orr
Inquisitor Inson found the cultist Cerrius Orr in the bowels of a once noble house. The grand palace was once an opulent bastion of Imperial might and the right of feudal system. The palace now a haunted and desolate place, its previous owners taken and executed by the Ordo Hereticus for following the Cult of the Emperor’s Divinity, oft known as the Temple Tendency. The moribund building left to crumble as a reminder to the other nobles that their power is nought to that of the Inquisition.
At first Inson thought the man a heretic piling scroll and tomes from a hidden room into a barrow. Inson followed the cultist to a concealed chapel, where the texts were piled high on the altar. Inson’s retinue moved in and secured the location and the cultist. Upon the cultists capture and interrogation the devotee was revealed as a scribe named Cerrius Orr, illicitly absent from the halls of the Administratum. Orr had found hidden clues of the Temple Tendency’s activities on Terra and decided to purge them himself. The actuaries of his actions were the taking apart of the diabolical library and his goal to burn the now heretical texts and chapel, dedicated to the Imperium’s previous religion.
Inson took Orr from his previously indentured life role within the Administratum and now employs him as his chief redactor and expunger. Much to Orr’s frustration Inquisitor Inson now decides which texts can be reduced to ash.
Research Assistant Edouard Mrytel
Beneath the gilded corridors of the Imperial Palace; far below its finery and resplendence. Below the most opulently dressed noble house. Beneath the Halls of the Navis Nobilite. Below the Mountain of the Astromican. Far lower than the mouldering layers of industry. Underneath the Administratum scribe halls. Below rusted ferrocrete, under corroded plascrete and piles of adamantium buried many kilometres deep. Under all that is the Imperium of Man, lies the eternal darkness of Terra, ancient earth, forgotten secrets, knowledge hidden before the Emperor of Mankind walked amongst us. It is the duty of the Ordo Scriptorum to find this history of man. It is their duty to hide it from mankind or share its burden upon most learned souls. To find lost histories and punish those who failed to save a billions souls, even if they are ignorant of the fact.
When you delve into darkness you are in need of an unrivalled guide. You need a skilled navigator of old, lost pastways, routes that will support you or to lead you from routes of peril and collapse. Research Assistants of the Ordo Scriptorum can be bootleggers, bandits or outcasts. The only skill required of them is the natural talent of forging and locating byways within the mantle of Terra. They will lead the curious through vast caverns of ancient technology or through crawl spaces so tight they look impossible to traverse. Research Assistants will find bibliocathedra, bureauvaults and data stacks lost for millennia, so the Inquisition can complete its knowledge and assign blame. These vast stores of information are wasted on the finders; for most Research Assistants can barely read basic gothic and this is what keeps them safe from their masters.
Edouard Mrytel is such a man, an expert at finding the right path. This day he chose to cross The Daylight Wall.

Interrogator Clayre Abhozen
A former Librarian of the 14th Order plucked from service by Inquisitor Inson. She met Inson when he was investigating unauthorised access to a bibliocathedra, deep under the Imperial Place, and her squad were assigned to him. In this quest Inson found her a most useful and intelligent resource, her investigative skills were wasted as an Inquisitorial Stormtrooper. Like Inson she was badly injured when orders failed to be relayed, thus making her an ideal and impassioned candidate for the Ordo Scriptorum.
Astropath Aikin
All Inquisitors of the Ordo Scriptorum are assigned an astropath at the same time they receive that Inquisitorial Rosette. This agreement and gift from the Adetus Astra Telepathica goes back to the beginning of the Ordo Scriptorum, when they were a breakaway sect of the Ordo Hereticus. The need for such a fine tool has proven its worth countless times, for having direct access to telepathic communication saved many lives. In the eyes of the Ordo Scriptorum the sooner mistakes are exposed to the relevant authorities to rectify the better.
Astropath Aikin is the second astropath to serve Inquisitor Inson, for an astropath’s work is hard and their candle burns brightly and fast.
Librarians of the 14th Order
The Librarians of the 14th Order are the chamber militant of the Ordo Scriptorum and are solely based on Terra. Unlike other chamber militants the Librarians do not engage in open warfare but are a guardian force protecting the Ordo Scriptorum’s property, scribes and Inquisitors from civil unrest and aggressive bureaucults, not wanting to be parted from their precious data stacks. When the Ordo send out Archaeogian investigators, the Librarians are attached to protect the assembly from heretical tomes and corrupt data stacks, for Terra is an ancient place full of the profane and long forgotten data reformatories.
The Librarians are a small force and recruited solely from the Astra Militarum regiments and PDF forces present in the Sol System. The recruits are chosen by the Ordo Scriptorum for showing signs of learnedness. It is often remarked the Librarians would have been better placed in the Administratum or the Departmento Munitorum rather than trained for combat. Though once recruited, the Librarians enter into the advanced combat training of an Inquisitorial Storm Trooper as well as undergoing extensive academic tutoring. Those who fail the training, if they survive, are sent back to their original regiment and often rise to the position of trusted adjutant.
Indentured Bureaucultists
Bureaucultist slave labour of the Ordo Scriptorum. These workers are indentured by the threat of redaction and the deletion of generations worth of bilbliocatherdra, data vaults and knowledge. While these repositories are often worthless to the Imperium, the threat binds the cultists to the Ordo Scriptorum, making for the most loyal of slaves.

The Pilgrym
The Lazaros Cipher
Captain-Inquisitor Lazaros breathed a sigh of relief, Garm’s Maw had finally sailed past the outer defence structures of the Sol System and transcended into warp space; no one had opposed the vessel since he escaped Terra with his prize. The prize, the infant, null warded and sealed in the most heavily layered psychic defence cell. A machine now weaned the infant, Magos Biologis Vrettas an unlikely candidate with his synthmilk and not an exemplar of humanity, if only he hadn’t been forced to kill the wet nurse. Raising this child, to replace the Emperor upon the golden throne, was something he considered far harder than actually kidnapping it. His accomplice in this matter still trapped on Terra, she would follow and he would need her help in the years to come: not only teaching it to harness and control its power but Lazaros knew he would be hounded to edges of the galaxy by loyal and dark forces alike. But hope flowed through his ancient frame for in these end times Captain Inquisitor Lazaros knew he possessed the tool to save the Imperium and resurrect the God Emperor.

If he, Rynt Beregus, had learnt one thing in his long years enforcing the Imperium’s void laws, hunting bounties and runaways it was you never argued with an Inquisitor; especially one as terrifying as Inquisitorix Auphier Kovettell. Sister Famulous Avianna Kovettell and her kinder poppet
Beregus had to admit to himself he was jealous of the lady’s sidearm, a beautifully crafted Manus Pattern Flay Pistol. He’d had few encounters with the Sister Famulous of the Adeptus Sororitas, though he knew them to be pure and devout; Sister Famulous Avianna Kovettell and her kinder poppet were not. Being in the presence of this wych and her blasphemous marionette was a ghastly experience. He was beginning to regret taking on this latest imbursement. At least he had a lead pointing to a void station in Segmentum Tempestus.

Just dropping in to say that I absolutely love your models great inspiration, and really captures the grimdark medieval future that is at the core of what 40k is about to me Of all of them, this little dude's my favourite. The split colour on her trousers makes her seem vaguely heraldic man-at-arms...with a gas mask and a lasgun Also, it's deliciously ironic that you've converted a Khorne Slaughterpriest into a Slaaneshi champion The Prince of Pleasure would be most pleased

Asmodai_00 - I'm afraid to say that it is all premade. Base mini is a wood elf character, the head is from something a friend sent me. The bionic arm is from forge world....then all mashed together.
evildrcheese - Cheers. Creepy with grim dark is always the intention.
Ynneadwraith - Thank you very much. Glad you like her, part of my Ordo Malleus warband (still need to build her Inquisitor). I hadn't considered the heraldic value of her outfit but you are totally right it adds to her. Wish I had thought of that . As for the slaughter priest as soon as I saw it just saw the slaaneshii conversion.

He, Rynt Beregus, had learnt one thing in his long years enforcing the Imperium’s void laws, hunting bounties and runaways it was you never argued with an Inquisitor; especially one as terrifying as Inquisitorix Auphier Kovettell. He was stuck with her whether he liked her or not, at least she paid well.
Rynt Beregus strapped extra armour over his void suit, his shotgun already fully loaded. He was preparing for the worst. In the centre of the room was a void shielded table, which crackled and fizzed as incense smoke, drifted into its boundaries. Avianna sat at the other end of the room gently petting the poppet, he was as far from her as he could be.
Inquisitorix Auphier Kovettell entered the suite and Beregus immediately felt uncomfortable. This was the first time he’d seen her without a hood: her face ancient and worn, her thin hair hung limply to half her head, the other side of her skull was shaved and adorned with various tech-ports. She wore red power armour adorned with doodads and purity seals. The Inquisitor walked to the central table and shut off the void field. He saw the contents of the table and was terrified: A large sword, made of smoke and bone, a wooden collar, an ornate hammer, a pile of large silver nails and a hand poppet. Avianna stepped forward, chanting in high gothic that he could not understand, and picked up the wooden collar and attached it to her sister’s armour. The Inquisitorix took the poppet and placed it on her left hand; she then picked up the hammer. Avianna placed a nail in a pre hammered hole in the left forearm of the Inquisitorix’s armour and with a grunt of pain Auphier bashed it down into her own flesh, with two hard strikes. This ritual of pain continued until all the nails were inserted. If this was a representative of the Emperor he was scared for the sanctity of the Imperium. He wanted nothing to do with these creatures, but knew he was stuck with them for the foreseeable future or his life would be forfeit.

Beregus ran, Inquisitorix Kovettell had ordered it, down stark corridors back towards the gun cutter. The Inquisitorix had the information from the Astropath and now she needed to escape this place, unhindered. A bolt shell detonated into the wall behind him, shrapnel rained down on his armour. Avianna was ahead of him, hugging the poppet to her chest, and she turned the final corner. Beregus made it to the corner and felt the impact of a shell hitting his armoured void suit. He was hurled through the air smashing into the wall bruising his face. Momentarily stunned after landing he realised that he was alive. Shaking off the fog he picked himself up and felt pain from an injury to his back, thank god the bolt shell hadn’t penetrated before detonation. He hobbled toward the blast doors of the hangar bay. Avianna stood in the doorway next to the controls “Hurry up!” she snapped. From behind its golden skull the poppet giddily called out to him “Come on Rynt, we’ve not finished playing yet!” It was the first time he’d heard it speak; he wanted to vomit as its voice was that of a child. Holding back the nausea he made it through the blast door before she closed it.
He was halfway across the deck when autogun bullets started spraying again. He risked a look back and saw the black clad Inquisitor and her troopers spill onto the hangar deck. His view was interrupted as autocannon shells detonated into the deck between him and the pursuers, smoke rippled up from the puncture wounds in the void station’s floor. Turning and running, with the last of his reserves, he made it to the Inquisitorix’s gunship as autocannon shells continued to rain down behind him. Running past the flight deck he saw the pilot give him a thumbs up. He collapsed onto the cargo bay floor as the embarkation ramp slammed shut and the vessel took flight.
Inquisitorix Kovettell was loudly berating the pilot over a voxhorn. She was telling him to stop wasting time with covering fire and to abandon Tumulus Gate and evade any pursuers. He grunted for knew he was expendable. Bergus pulled off the extra armour and the top of his void suit, feeling the hard muscle of his back where he’d taken the glancing shot. He’d survive, and so he’d survived his first mission for the Inquisition. He looked at the Inquisitorix and she smiled at him before leaving the chamber with her sister. The smile did nothing to reassure him.

Astropath Borleen screamed, as the pain probe was extracted. She was again blinded by null wards, tears wept from her useless eyes. She believed that the death torment Inquisitor Lazaros had spoken of would be worse than the tortures bestowed upon her body by Lord Inquisitor Helk. How she despised the Captain-Inquisitor. She beseeched the Inquisitor’s acolytes for mercy and that she could not speak the Lazaros Cipher. The torture continued, unabated for days, but still she could not speak.
Lord Inquisitor Helk ventured into the extraction chamber. Borleen only knew this from the confident voice but took the words to be true. “As you know I am Inquisitor Lord Helk. My acolytes, who have taken confession from the most blighted of heretics, but here have failed to get a loyal subject to save the Emperor. The information you hold is vital to the Imperium. However, my psykers have probed you and they have decided that you’ll never be able to speak the cipher. Though with considerable effort they have removed a layer of encryption; it is now safe for you to tell me what happened the day Inquisitor Lazaros visited and ruined you. You’ll be happy to know a vague destination to Lazaros’ journey was provided by Inquisitor Walsynhymme’s tarot reader. Like your mind my agents will scour the Veiled Region.”
Borleen thought and felt relief; a weight had been taken from her mind. Pain laced her entire being but now she could reveal the only thing that needed to be told. “All I can speak of is barbed daemons and the location of the thorn moons.” Borleen detailed what she knew, banks of scribes wrote her every utterance, vox thieves recorded her every breath. For a day she told and retold her tale. Finally Borleen felt the Emperor’s Mercy, a stiletto blade directly to her heart.

nathanie1 - Migs converted me to oil washes. I think it adds to the depth of the black. The robes are all darker shades of grey, highlighed etc. Wash of really thinned black oil paint. Give it 20 mins and then with only thinner on the brush wipe off/thin the highest areas even more. While its a good effect I wouldn't want to use it on everything.

I draw my inspirations from a lot of sources including my hobby friends, GW art, The Inquisitor Rulebook, Mordheim, Dark Heresy books, other peoples conversions and painting. Though I often find the best inspiration is finding a really cool bit in a bits box and thinking about what I could use it for. In Beregus' case I found the chaos warrior legs by accident and thought they looked imposing. The Inquisitor was inspired by the Sisters of Silence release and wanting to convert one asap.

Beautiful work as always Peter, especially on the depth of the blacks. I'll be honest - I wasn't too sold on the concept of Avianna and the poppet when I saw the greens only, but your paintwork has absolutely brought the two of them together. Is there a tale behind the poppet's origins, or would that ruin the mystery?
I'd love a run down on how you've achieved that horrible sickly skin tone for Kovetell if you have the time please? Really characterful - can imagine an aura of unease around her...
32193
Post by: PDH
Scarper - Thanks bud, sorry for the massively late reply. I have no idea of the poppets origins....I guess its a minor daemon possessing an infant. As for the sickly skin tone... It was done using GW rakarth flesh and pallid wych skin with some ghost grey added. Then washed with very thin red, purple mixed. Highlights as before adding more ghost grey. Maybe a thin blue wash. Red glaze round the eyes and mouth. More highlighting.

Really pleased how this chap turned out.
I travelled down to Nottingham yesterday. Met Fulgrim and RiseOfTheMagi and we had a brilliant American diner breakfast at Annie's Burger shack (bottomless coffee was needed after getting up at 5.45). After breakfast we went over to Thistle's house for a game with Thistle.
Portents of Truth is a game I put together using some stuff from Fantasy Flight's Black Crusade line of books. Basically I was GMing but the whole point was the characters were invited to be a sacrifice to Tzeentch and the only winner would be my characters....unless others killed him. It seemed to fit for a having a complete lie as the premise for a Tzeentchian scenario.

“Please excuse my intrusion, Master” begs a markedly stout, middle aged women dressed in blue robes, her hooded her face further hidden by a yellow bird mask. She bows quite low as if to show she were not worthy of your presence, but the act reeks of manipulation and false flattery. “You are the right hand of the Emperor. A fallen Inquisitor known to us only as the Branded?” she says knowingly with satisfied mirth. “I’ve been sent forth by the Masters of the Atheniium, Rekarr Corveront, Oracle of Vultures – surely you’ve heard of him? He begs you accept his invitation; so important is it that he threatened me with death were I not to import these precise words: ‘the future of the Howling Stars depends on it.’” With these words she steps forward and hands you a parchment sealed with blood wax.
Invitation to the Atheniium, to view the Convergence of the Nine Mendacities
I am pleased to inform you that a mysterious and rare event is taking place on Mortlaccus. The event is the Convergence of the Nine Mendacities. Events on this day, though yet to come and not yet apparent, involve you directly. I am the Masters of the Atheniium, the Oracle of Vultures. My forbearers and I have, for many centuries, foretold the destinies of a great many fortunate souls – and some unfortunate ones. It is our responsibility to receive these visions from the Dark Gods and dispense them to those worthy of the knowledge the gods have chosen to impart. Consider yourself one such individual.
A vision, unlike any other I have received in my great years as the Library Oracle, has been given to me and cannot be ignored. I would even go to so great a length as to demand you come to me in The Garden of Dire Tranquillity beyond the Boundary, rather than simply extend an invitation. I say this because to fail to impart my vision would be to damn the both of us in the eyes of the Great Changer, Master of Fate, and the other Ruinous Powers as well. Were I able to tell you on this parchment what I have to say, you would understand, but it is only safe to speak with you directly and in person, at the time of the Convergence.
Your transportation, aboard the Infidus Sin, and expenses have been arranged for. Furthermore, you will be granted access to the Antheniium and its vast libraries forever after.
Be assured what you will learn from me greatly outweighs any concerns you may possess. I look forward to making your acquaintance.

Like the fabled Black Library of the Eldar you have read of the Antheniium within the tomes of the Ordo Malleus. A fast library of forbidden texts and hooror. There have been centuries long rumours that the library holds a copy of the thrice dammed text “Metallicus and the Daemortiicus” by the Arch-Heretek Boriden Tharr. Access to this tome would allow you to make great bounds in your own daemonic metal sculpting.
Fulgrim used some of JB's minis:
Invitation to Arzroth - Chosen of Khorne
A short snivelling man, in a dark blue hood cloak approaches you. Under his hood he wears a bird mask. Obviously, he is a follower of the Bird of Lies. He looks hardly up to the task to speak with you in the way he gathers his robes in sweaty palms and grits and grinds his teeth “It is to my dismay that my station in life leads me to the task of errand boy but as I am sure a person like you must understand, I have little choice,” he sneers. “The Oracle of Vultures bids me give you this,” he hands you a missive sealed in dark red, blood crusted wax.

Admittance to the library would give you access to the most despicable sorcery and a means of breaching one of the most magically secure buildings in the Howling Stars. Once inside what treachery could you bring to the followers of Tzeentch with the destruction of dammed tomes of magic? Gain daemonic weapons of great power? How would the Red God look down on you after striking such a great blow against the cowardly followers of Tzeentch?
RiseOfTheMagi made some brilliant fallen Imperial Scholars.
Invitation to Valdomir Baranse
Words by Rise of the Magi -
Led by Valdomir Baranse, a one-time Archsavant Locus, working for the Administratum in the distant Lorchis System. He was given the task of cataloguing the deaths of Imperial servants in the system - his superiors feared false deaths were being logged by many organisations in order to explain missed quotas and substandard tithes.
As he travelled the system seeking evidence of each reported death, he found his task consuming him - no matter how many corpses he catalogued and mausoleums he picked through, he couldn't catch up with the deluge of souls escaping Lorchis' taskmasters. Even when he despatched his cadre of dedicated acolytes and servitors across a chosen planet with orders to bring him physical proof of each hive's casualties, the dead fell faster than his men could dig them up.
Desperate to avoid failure, Baranse prayed to anyone who would listen for a way achieve his monumental undertaking. Someone was listening, and as Baranse snatched an hour of fitful sleep, a vision came to him. In his dream, he walked the streets with his tabula in his arm, and everyone he looked at died. His autoquill danced across the pages, and the tally of the fallen rose like a red wave around him.
When Baranse awoke, he was filled with new purpose. He walked to his assistant's chamber and slit the man's throat, smiling beatifically. Summoning his most loyal acolytes, the Archsavant Locus embarked on a crusade of quiet slaughter, preying on the weak and isolated, and using his rank to cast aside any questions raised by those who suspected him - by arriving at each murder scene so promptly, he was simply fulfilling his Emperor-given duty. His reports were filed in record time, his reputation ironclad.
He slept soundly now, and his red visions gave him everything he needed. Following their directions, he left Lorchis, boarding a colonisation labour craft headed for the Border Worlds, of Dalthus. Casualties aboard the ship during the year-long journey were high. When only the ship's essential crew and Baranse's coterie remained, Baranse bade his most loyal servant San Welldrew to fall upon the rest of his acolytes, noting each death in his tabula with a satisfied nod.
As the last of Welldrew's victims choked on his own blood, the ship burst back into realspace, though the travellers found themselves beyond the Imperium - the shifting tides of the Warp had deposited them in the orbit of Mortlaccus, near the centre of the Howling Stars warpstorm. Travelling to Boundary, Baranse recruited the services of a succession of local guides, hoping to find why he had been brought there. His eighth guide, Vor Cryherd, soon recognised Baranse's purpose, and was permitted to keep his life. Somewhere on the planet, Vor knew, was the secret Baranse sought, that which would teach him the secrets of death, and bring him to the feet of his god.

A blue robed figure approaches you as though he were familiar friend and nods pleasantly, though you cannot see his face behind a yellow bird mask. Vor steps forward to intercept the man, in an instance a cage of flesh erupts from the ground entrapping the mutant. “I mean no harm, I am simply protecting your drudge while we speak. Arch-savant Baranse I am most pleased to make your acquaintance, I am Onadeus from the Atheniium beyond the boundary. I realise this is a most strange occurrence, but I must deliver you this message from my master, The Oracle of Vultures. Do oblige us and accept.” He hands you a small wooden box, sealed with red blood wax. Sealed within is a small missive.

You consider this new course for you and your god. Feeling deep inside your bones and psyche that this journey to bring about resurrection is being rewarded. Your plans are coming to fruition and this is another piece of the puzzle.
***
The air around you suddenly chills and you catch the whiff of rot and decay. A hunched figure in tattered robes steps out from the nearby shadows, shadows you could have sworn held nothing.
The figure holds up its hands “Please, Chaperon Cryherd, I mean you no harm.” When it speaks, it sounds as if three mouths are speaking at almost the same time and, when it raises its head, you see why. Under the hood is an elderly man with three mouths on his face, though two are impossible.
“I am Scobberlotcher, emissary of the Butcher of Balemire. He has learnt you are travelling to The Garden of Dire Tranquillity with Valdomir Baranse. While you are there, I was wondering if you would be interested in carrying out a small task? My Master would be most grateful, he would pay you handsomely.”
“Good, then my master requires seven stones, no smaller than half a fist, chipped from the Statue of Heliotrope Deceiver. You will know the statue when you see it, it is where you are meeting Rekarr Corvorant.
***************************
“Pray your respects to the vultures, for they are your future. Your gods have released you into the welcoming arms of the Heliotrope Deceiver.”
Upon this hallowed, harrowed ground I have been given the right to tell you of the future. The book of Astromantium makes mention of you all. Though only one is the going to unite the Howling Stars and bring ruin to Dalthus Sector. The rest will perish and wither and change, death or servitude is all the same.”
The Oracle opens the book he is carrying and at the same instance the sky shatters, glass rains down up you from a bruised sky, screamers of Tzeentch flit and float on empyrean tides.
“The Convergence of the Nine Mendacities is now upon us. Witness my masters blessing.”
“What are you willing to sacrifice to hear of your futures? When you have given something of import I will read the prophesy. The Mendacities deserve a sacrifice. Be quick for the lands and aligning.”
When the sacrifices have been made The Oracle of Vultures descends into a trance state and starts reading from the book. Blood spittle projecting from his mouth with each word.
“He came upon a ruin. A haphazard collection of bunkers and death, silence. Here in the open arms of Heliotrope Deceiver he views, rivals: Fallen man, red man and man counting. Under a ruinous eye, as nine converge. Nine grow in power. Siphon off the excess into a vessel, the vessel. Great ruin is passed onto the endless Emperor’s dominion. The abhorrent sword will strike into the heart. A dark crusade. Knowledge, routes, weapons, stones? Stones, weapons, routes, knowledge. The roaring of impotent rage, an old god? A promise of fealty, A promise of warped metal, Treachery. Lies, Mutation, Warning, Waning. One King of Men to Prince of Daemons, a final promise.”
“You are tricked! You are my sacrifice to the Nine Mendacities. I am Imhayyān follower of Mind Gnasher, Herald of Tzeentch, Allotter of the Mad, Herald of the Whisperers. I am one of his nine champions. The Oracle of Vultures told me my prophesy, before I roasted his soul. This event and your sacrifice releases my Master back into the materium. He is the vessel filled with power. He will bring doom to the Dalthus Sector, not you who are minions to minor entities. Fools!
Looking up over the statue and into the warped space about the garden a daemonic apparition appears with open arms and a cloak made of stars. With the sound of wings and the singing of dead birds the minions of Mind Gnasher disappear into the enveloping cloak of a demonic entity.

Amazing model Escher head on a Stormcast with a load of wonderful extras?

Well. That's just beautiful.

Llama - cheers. The head is actually from the Stormcast kit, Neave Blacktalon. I "pinched" her out of my friends bits box.... he was never going to use her for anything.
I got Necromunda from my wife for Christmas, the box weighs an absolute ton :-). I think there might be a Escher bounty hunter on the cards at some point. Though she may turn into a henchman for an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor.
Youwashock - thanks.
Thank you both for always commenting on my thread when it pops up.

I've commented over on ammobunker about how damn cool this model is, but thought I'd echo it here!
Definitely liking the new range of believable female models GW is coming out with.

Yneadwraith - Cheers. Its so good isn't it. I cannot wait for plastic sisters of battle....especially the Repentia. Fingers crossed that Brian Nelson simply copies the aesthetic of the previous metal ones.
I'm heading to Nottingham this weekend to meet up with some like minded people for some Imunda gaming, using new necro rules, and playing on the Lesotho 212 board Jonathan has shipped across from LA. Fingers crossed I'll also get to play a game vs Bruticus/Jake my scavvies vs his pit slaves too.
Anyway since Migs has recently painted a black armoured Inquisitor (and I can think of three I've already done) I decided to go with white armour. This also make a nice change as I am getting back to my Dealth Watch project after this. I was shatting myself while painting the snow leopard pelt cloak, last thing I did because the back of the model looked so boring when I finished her, turned out pretty good if I say so myself. It feel right painting her in snow leopard since I pinched her out of JB's bits box.
Inquisitorix Hestora Agarl, Ordo Malleus, Ordos Dalthus
Inquisitorix Hestora Agarl is a battle-hardened Inquisitor of the Dalthan Malleus. She studied under the tutelage of the previous head of the Ordo, the forsaken Lord Inquisitor Rupreth. She had set her own mandate in leading forces of Astra Militarum and directing the Imperial Navy in purges within the heretic controlled planetary systems surrounding Thasanti, a staunch supporter of launching a Crusade to take back, what is by holy writ, Imperial domain. An expert warrior and bitter leader, her outward appearance, adorned in glorious white power armour, inspires her charges. While underneath her beatific exterior is a ruthless leader who will send a billion men to their deaths to stop but a single daemonic entity.
Recently she departed the Thasanti campaign, leaving it in the hands of her juniors. Now she travels alone to Lesotho 212; for her spies had heard rumour The Butcher of Balemire had returned and is now casting his gaze upon Lesotho 212. Alas the rumours were but hearsay or lie, the untruth is but another Nurglite infection effecting the near dead. Now that she is present she will uphold her Emperor sworn duty and destroy the contagion.

now we're talking, that looks amazing. Love the cloak. I've tried painting animal prints in the past and it is really hard to do - you've nailed it of course. Looking forward to seeing this model in person.

Bruticus - I so almost bottled the cloak, glad I didn't. It was difficult until I realised it didn't need to be neat. Plus I am so glad of google image search to copy from. :-)

Evening all.
I'm breaking my rules of trying to built one - paint one:
Inquisitor Aquinus Orlock-Hiardyn, Ordo Xenos, Dalthus Sector
I decided that this Inquisitor will be having a large retinue made largely from the new Necromunda range.
Felicity 'Fel' Raklow
Zanno & Vaara Maxziil aka “The Maxziil Brothers”
I need to go back and refine the collar and tie on Vaara
