Hi Chaps and Chapesses

I got married and that really gets in the way of painting and modelling. I should point out not that I minded its been a blast. I didn't get to play any Inq28 on my wedding day but I did manage to get in some Croquet, Giant Jenga and Connect Four. So having not picked up a paint brush or modelling tool for a month I decided to finish off the merc before I go back to work tomorrow :-(



I am glad he is going in a unit of mercs since he is a little rough round the edges. Still super happy with his weaponry. I will base all the models together so they are all matchy matchy.

Congrats on the wedding PDH. Just got hitched myself 10 days ago. Happy days and even managed to get a little painting done in the morning before the ceremny lol
Loving that latest merc. really smooth stuff and cracking job on the face; really brings out the character

Came out really nice, nice pale look to his skin. Spot on.

Came together well and the head looks great even more so now I like the simple pallet choice very muted tone only lifted by a little colour especially the cheques.

Alright guys. Had a bit of inspiration today when I remembered I had this head. Reused an autogun originally planned for a scavvy (with eye stalks) and the rest just came together.

While building him his personality came out. The price on his head is so high that he has had numerous run ins with Boodsworn bounty killers. A Malfian noble who has used the last of his fortune to escape across the galaxy to Dalthus. Plotting revenge against his younger sister for stealing his position as head of the family.

Cool maybe an old house relic or sigil somewhere on him?

I did think of adding something like that but I preferred the idea that things like that would be well hidden.

I must second this.
All of your work, PDH, looks like the parts kind of, well, belong with the other parts. That is truly a skill I wish I had.

This evening I feel I have been channelling Neil, so I am even happier how it turned out. This guy was never going to get used in my hopeful guard squads as I feel a plasma gun in the hands of guardsman is unrealistic to the background. But on a merc it seems more appropriate. I really wasn't planning on making this chap or the third (chapess) that is still not finished.....but the mercs will have to be on hold becuase I am now stumped because I have run out of the respirator/fan backpack cultists. But once I get four more I can finish off the squad, leader and a sniper.

cool! the arms match up surprisingly well on her, it's not easy.

Llama - I couldn't over convert her. She is practically perfect.

Meade - I had this idea for a long while but couldn't find the right arm until the DE came out.

The next merc is from the planet of KA-AX, a feral death world in the Phrell subsector. Where I see the indigenous population as devolved humans. Hence the big head....all the better for head butting you with :-). I also used a dwarf pad because it fit. So I imagine the Squat has given this chap an armour plate in thanks for something or as payment. I assume this chap is a good tracker and The Mercy recruited him after some mission or other on KA-AX.

I am very proud of his handcannon! Grav pistol and barrel from a lightning gun. Plus all feral worlders need ye-olde worlde weaponry so he has a crossbow maglocked to his back. Alas he is not quite finished yet, I need some more Elysian shoulder pads.

Krauty - this is conversion one of two using Mr Potato Weapon as a base model.

Very nice kitbash, that is the typical tough guy henchman you do not mess with, the bastard you send in to finish the job when other cannot.

Tough looking hombre. Very cool. I like the crossbow backup gun.

Also must give much love for the Escher. One of GW's best.

youwashock - Thanks. The Eshers are just phenomenal and aged so well. Jes Goodwin is a master. The crossbow was just for fun and besides if I ever use the squad in 40k I can claim it has the same stats as a lasgun ;-)
