It's safer for your sanity if you just dive right in.
There is too much glitter in that damn pool....
Also I've gotten several people in my fraternity to start watching it... They are more brony than I am...
See? No reason not to. You can't just poke around the edges and hope to get everything out of it.
You've got to wade in.
I've waded in, I've used references to the show in my writing class for a student that asked me weeks ago if I was a brony (he's like the main character from Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, so he's got no understanding of social structure... so I've used MLP to get him on task)... I've asked another student that hated the show to write about it for his friday reflection, since he couldn't think of anything... Waded in, glitter is too hard to get out of my clothes...

I know, but it wasn't the picture that I wanted to paint, should anyone viewing this thread not know a lot about autism. I was hoping to paint more of a young man (he's 17) that is a little erratic, with no understanding of social situations, instead of slapping a label on him, and having random passersby to this thread see 'autistic' and make a judgement without knowing him. Though I do find it odd that the my mentor told me day one he will not swear to an adult 3 out of 4 times... I seem to be that 1 out of 4 every time...
As to the hive guard... no they cannot love unconditionally, well at least not outside synapse range...
I don't quite get what you mean. He's autistic, so therefore has trouble with social situations. That's generally the idea. "A little erratic, no understanding of social situations." It's not like you're saying that he's such a her-derp Mod Edit: filter is in place for a reason.and his head is on backwards. The judgment is - he's autistic.

*sigh* I understand that, but while I don't know what your background is in this situation, people are extremely judgmental about handicaps... Even if its not as serious as it could be.
Personally, I know like... one person who's autistic, in total. He's a friend, and since I only ever see him one-on-one, his autism has never really effected anything (I think he has a thing with groups of people).
In short; no! Don't think I'm getting offended or anything - I'm not. I just think it's silly to not say what you mean in case silly people think badly of it.

What My little Pony Friendship is Magic has taught me:
Learn like Twilight Sparkle. We should always be trying to enrich our lives and to pursue knowledge and wisdom.
Have ambition like Rainbow Dash. We should be working hard to improve ourselves physically and to be working towards a goal. With hard work and practice we will obtain it.
Be generous in Spirit like Rarity. We should give to others and to share our accumulated wealth. If you can help somebody do so.
Love like Fluttershy. Be kind and compassionate to all those around you. Treat everybody with kindness.
Be dependable like Applejack. Be there for your friends and be ready to offer a helping hand. Be honest in all situations.
Enjoy the simple things in life like Pinkie Pie. Learn to laugh and to enjoy life. Simply by laughing and smiling it will improve your mood. Life isn’t all work learn to have fun as well.

Unless you discover that they're a horrible, lying, cheating bastard who should be burned alive and shot.
From personal experience.
And there's no use trying to desperately cling to a 'friendship' that is being held apart entirely by yourself. If the other person is just using you as their convenient emotional backup plan for when their oh so wonderful boyfriend breaks up with them (again) because he's an donkey-cave, and he does this to her repeatedly and you always have to be the one who deals with it for her. Eventually, there's a point where you just have to tell them all to go to hell.
EDIT: Well, this is just silly! Slow and donkey-cave? Seriously? >.>; And yet, 'bastard' doesn't get replaced with 'cheese', or anything. Stupid filters. -.-

Honestly everyone else, I know we get a fair amount of hate, but try not to just drag this down into a flame war. Oh, and we seem to have gone rather off topic.
I just finished the first two episodes of the second season a week or so ago, and I must say the best part about it was how they made fluttershy a really likable character to me. I'm referring to the part where discord tries to convert her, and all his attempts at telling her that her friends know her for being cowardly and all that, she just smiles and agrees with him, eventually causing him to just give up in frustration and force convert her. Great scene.
I actually hated that scene. It made Discord seem cheap to me. Having to trick or make a pony doubt themselves to grey them out was fine, but then to find out he didn't really need to bother and could just do it to anyone for any reason was dumb.
Aduro wrote:I actually hated that scene. It made Discord seem cheap to me. Having to trick or make a pony doubt themselves to grey them out was fine, but then to find out he didn't really need to bother and could just do it to anyone for any reason was dumb.
dude, thats the point. it makes him even better IMO. it proves hes just messing with them for his own amusement.
Damn it, I'm always behind. I just finished watching the first series and now you chaps are talking about the second. Gosh darn it.
On an unrelated note, I just went back and read the start of this thread. Made me sad to see all the hatred coming for toy soldier enthusiasts for those who watch kids cartoons. /misery
As any right-minded individual should. For some reason Apple Bloom gets a pass from me. I suspect it's the accent. Makes her seem less... real? I don't know. Anyway, it's clearly some kind of failing in my psyche, and one that I'm going to have to live with.

Least favorite episode so far this season. The scenes of Apple showing off went on too long, and there was a lack of good/witty interactions between the characters compared to the last few episodes. Still had some good moments and was enjoyable mind you.
I was a bit disappointed with the new ep. I like the CMC but the full eps about them just don't do much for me.
Zecora is always cool,so I'm glad she's showing up more in the last few eps.
Other then that I still had fun when AppleJack was talking to Big Macintosh "Eeeyup, nope, eeeyup". I do hope he says actual words sometime soon like in "AppleBuck Season".
Melkhiordarkblade wrote: I do hope he says actual words sometime soon like in "AppleBuck Season".
I doubt it. Kid's shows generally contain a lot of typecasting, once a character is that way, they won't change the image that quickly. Side characters with one specific trait usually stay that way forever to create a sense of familiarity for young viewers.

Hmm, maybe I should move onto the commercial business? Nahh, I'll consider that after watching the ponies.
Internet has been restored and I am ready to watch the first 2 episodes. Im posting this so that If Im found dead, people can find the reason to it by seeing my computer history. May the emperor protect my soul and Khorne my body. Into the Maw of Rainbows!

Fixed.
Hurry up and be assimilated so we can welcome you.
Just watched the first two episodes, and my initial reaction was this:
Spoiler:
But after watching both of the episodes, I can happily say that it deserves.
The plot is clever, the characters interesting (I like the Dragon with moustachse most ) and villains that are "villany". Fluttershy and Applejack are my favourite ponies for now, but the character I love the most is Nightmare Moon (she just oozes evilness). But then she turned into a darn cute ponie and I died little inside (although the reunion with his sister was heartbreaking) . The show was also really strange and made me spell "what the feth" couple of times. I still wait moments like this form my favourite anime, Legendz:
Spoiler:
IMHO the show has one problem that I dont like. Its so freaking cute. Almost too cute. Guess I have watched too much Hellsing. But I'll guess I will keep watching the show when I have lots of free time. Well damn, guess I have then joined the bronies, although I will never become a ponie (Im a true dragon inside out). Dragons FTW!
Okay, so I finally caught up. Skyrim's been eating me for the past few days, you see.
@ Klimino, my example wasn't to say you hadn't played BioShock. I was trying to point out how silly it is to judge a game based on seeing it played once, and then decide it's bad and never play it. It's exactly the wrong attitude for a brony. >.>
Second; Halo CE Anniversary makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Since Unrelenting Force has about that much effect on dragons, the fun has been doubled! Fluttershy's Thu'um would just be the most adorable thing ever, though.
EDIT:
Skyrim and ponies. Why do these two things fit together so well?

well if you havent noticed by now,i dont listen to the show. feth love and tolerance, give me a grenade and ill show you my 'tolerance'
on a better note, made this in school, its going on my laptop (sorry bout the pic quality...)
But you enjoy the show, right? What I'm saying is - bronies are the last people to have that attitude. What's wrong with me?!"
See? >.>

*shrugs* i like the show, and even before i never thought it gay. ive seen my brother play it,and dont like it. ive judged games like that before. i never saw the show, watched it,liked it. i never saw a game,watched/played it, liked/hated it. same thing.
like MW3,im not giving that a chance at all.

See, if the ponies looked like that when I was a kid..I would still be a fan. And that my friends is a MkVII powerhoof with built in rearing kick special attack that can send the ponies enemies to the depths of oblivion in a heartbeat. Or they can just fogive eachother and have a group hug in the end, what ever floats your boat I guess. =o]
Closeted? Hell no. I honestly have no idea how I reacted to winning it. I'm a boisterous, laughing, joking drunk. And I'm completely honest when I'm sober. It was probably hilariously brony-ish.
I almost envy the voyage of discovery you're about to go on. God, you must have a strong constitution. Whenever I drink myself into memory loss I am more hangover than man the next day. Fortunately my body has an automatic routine in such situations in which it makes itself a full English breakfast. Then all is well (ish).
My body doesn't punish me, it makes me drink until I can't go on, then rewards me with feeling fantastic when I wake up. Something something half-Italian something something vinocentric something something Jack Daniel's.
Anyway, I'm starting to piece things together, and my reaction to winning the Fluttershy was, to them, the most hilarious thing ever, in the history of forever.
I got really quiet, walked out of the room, put it in the DD's car, came back, and did a jump in the air/fist pump. And then fell over.

Miss Rainbow Dash,
As explained in my responses to your previous ninety-seven letters, the Wonderbolts are not actively looking for new members. Thus, it is not possible for you to have a private try-out for the team. In the event that the Wonderbolts begin looking for a new member, a public announcement will be made regarding the vacancy on the team. If the Wonderbolts decide that it in their interest to hold open try-outs, then it will be your responsibility to prepare and attend them. In that event, any decisions will be made impartially, regardless of previous services rendered unto the team.

I'm going to get the scanner out and see if I can't do something properly art-y with my long weekend. Because, well, ponies.
I've read three failed try outs (two of which she then attempted suicide), and one broken wings training accident. While it starts to be a cliche after awhile, all of them have been good stories with different variations.

Whenever I see an episode like this one I think Trixie really got a raw deal. Two of her biggest detractors were Dash and Rarity, who both do a good share of bragging of their own. They should bring her back for a redemption episode.
She wasn't a close friend, though. People are much more tolerant of their friends than they are of strangers - Although I agree, Trixie didn't do anything bad, certainly not enough to warrant her status as OMG SHE FAILS SO MUCH I HATE HER. To be fair, though, she did run away on her own. >.>
