Here we go...
Hey guys, this is my first Project Log to feature on DakkaDakka, so I can to actually contribute something to the community. The main drive behind this log is to have several armies painted up (an obvious objective )
- - - - - - - - - -
Now, for the little I actually have painted so far, some Traitors (of the Morlath V Liberation Front as the army will be called, or MVLF for short):
I actually have another squad similar to these painted as well, but no photo of them yet. I have another 25 of these guys to paint so I can field three full-strength units of them in-game as my Troop choices. Anyone who followed my previous stuff will notice that these were repainted from my old army, as well as all the helmets being cut down and I've changed the colour scheme slightly too.
- - - - - - - - - -
Anyway, that's all for now, but updates will come thick and fast when I have the free time. Do feel free to comment and ask stuff, I like that

Thank you people, it's good to hear your positive comments enmittee and Deff Dread red Edition.
About the painting, followers of my older logs will notice they are a brighter red in comparison to their previous form, I switched from using Mechrite Red to a most delightful stippling Blood Red over Charadon Granite. As for the fatigues, I only tried using Codex Grey for those extreme highlights, and it worked much better visually to me (that pretty much inspired me to get the two half-painted squads on my painting desk finished )
Heck, because I'm so kind I'll give you a colour scheme rundown too while I'm at it:
Basecoat
Charadon Granite all over
Devlan Mud wash
Armour
Blood Red stippled on
Boltgun Metal for the worn edging
Fatigues
Adeptus Battlegrey highlight
Codex Grey extreme highlight
Flesh
Two stages of layering using Scorced Brwon and Tallarn Flesh in various amounts
Basing
Heavy wash of Scorched Brown
Overbrush Dhenub Stone
Add GW Snow Scatter
Meanwhile *fast forwarding back to the present* in the tradition of any decent project log, here's the classic desk photo shot(s):
The dirty, filthy and probably slightly possessed downstairs painting desk:
The nice clean and shiny building and modelling upstairs desk:
Beady eyes will probably spot some things that are yet to come, and some blasts from the pasts. Hey look, is that Huron Blackheart I espy there, and how about those Alpha Legion up the top being all sneaky-like?
C'est la vie and that, more pictures sometime in the future.

To answer Death By Monkeys, they take about two minutes each. It's quite simple; shave them down carefully with the knife and file down until smooth (I use both a straight file and a rounded one for this job). Painted battle damage will disguise any lumpy bits left afterwards.
Of course there's other small conversions such as the trimming off of some of the trouser pockets and shoulder pads, as well as added battle damage and sculpted sleaves. These being a repaint, most of the conversion work was done a while back.
Also, thank you Ivyoda and enmitee. (although good luck trying to work out how to make a Stegadon look vaguely daemonic )
Still, for not really having much to say and nothing to show I've succeeded in blabbering on again. Hopefully something new to show you soon, but full-time work never helps.

Thank you Paul Atreides and smiling Assassin!
Anyway, I've been playing around with photo-manipulation and this is what I came up with:
I'm still getting the hang of this thing. At least you can see the red stippling effect and the highlights on the fatigues properly now.
As for progress, I have another ten of these nearly ready for batch painting, and then loads of LotR to spray-undercoat. Thankfully I have two whole days off (a rare occurance for me) to get as much done as possible.
Oh, and I got the Gaunt's Ghost omnibuses too, a damn fine read!
Till next time folks.

Now for something different, Alpha Legion!
Possessed Champion:
Possessed 1 of 4:
(two down, three to go)
Reminds me, I've got a few Chaos Marines stands in the same colours I painted for Epic, must get those finished sometime.
*EDIT*
Screw it, I have a tester model to show you! (took less than an hour altogether to paint)
Mutant:
(one down, fourteen to go..)

Thank you Cadaver, FearPeteySodes, captain.gordino, the assasin of night and WarpWhisperer!
P4NC4K3, yes how could I make such a mistake?
Malika2, I'm glad to see a follower of my old stuff return, and yes I did stay true to my word with the promise of doing Alpha Legion. More pictures of the Traitor Guard will come when I get the chance.
typhus, probably why most Traitor Guard armies are red is because of the Eye of Terror codex (Nurgle bless it) and the effectiveness of the colour scheme. That and I like red and black.
Unfortunately I have no new things to show you, only the news that I've purchased the rest of the stuff needed for the 1500 point army;
2 boxes of Chaos Space Marines (ten models each, one Nurgle and one Undivided unit)
CSM Terminator Lord
For the Nurgle-marked unit, I'm going to go big on the Splinter Cell triple-eye lenses (like the Nurgle Champion's head on the sprue), a bit of stretched skin and a tiny Nurgling here or there for variety too. (For my Aspiring Champion, I want to try a sculpt a Nurgling reaching up to tug on the Champion's leg like a little child trying to get attention. I think it'll look cool anyway )
I've also assembled my Chaos Lord, the kit was a delight to work with (whch is great considering my choice of Apocalypse army expansion planned for next month. Biggest hint ever ) As for his pose, but he's striding over the spiky rock with a sweeping motion of his Lightning Claws. I think because I used the bare head I'm going to paint a little serpent tattoo across his eye too. This model is going to be a real treat to paint I think.
However, I won't be painting any of the new Alpha Legion stuff until I've assembled everything and finished painting another 25 Traitors and their Leman Russ. Time is certainly of the essence!
Till next time, where I'll probably actually have something new painted, and maybe less words too.

Nicely done. I like the lord quite well for having a somewhat subdued scheme. I might suggest putting a green or perhaps blue wash on the cloak to help blend the shading a bit more. The transition from white/green to black is a little jarring.

Boss_Salvage and Holycrusader, cheers guys.
Wehrkind, thank you for your constructive comment! I'll try not to make this sound like an excuse but it's the flash on the camera that makes the cloak look like it's blended to white. In reality the lightest colour is Goblin Green with a smidge of Skull White added in. The subdued effect however is mainly down to the Foundation Paints, which I think am starting to like more than the original line of colours now.
migsula, all I can say is thanks for being one of the main inspirations for making me painting these most slippery of superhumans. Keep up your astounding work too please.
- - - - - - - - - -
As I said last time I would get some photos of currently painted things up, here's a good cross-representation of the state of things Renegade:
Infantry:
(Currently 20 painted and 10 more in the works to bolster the main squads to 15)
Autocannon:
Hopefully, these photos will reveal some of the little details I like to paint on, such as the checker patterns (kill markings) and single Chaos arrow (to represent their path to "liberation")
- - - - - - - - - -
I have a week off starting in several days time, so I'll give you a low-down of what I want to get done in that time:
To finish painting (~75% done):
~ 10 Renegades
~ Renegade Leman Russ Battle Tank
Ready for undercoating:
~ 10 Alpha Legion CSM
~ 10 The Purge CSM
~ Alpha Legion Defiler
A bit more modelling needed:
~ 14 Nurglesque Mutants
- - - - - - - - - -
Now I've hit you with pictures and talked of things to come I can blather on a bit more about the thought process behind the force (more specifically the Renegades).
I only recently got around to getting my hands on the 40K rulebook as well as the Apocalypse expansion. Now before you all say "well about time", I found a really interesting nugget of information on page 171 of the Apocalypse book* about the Alpha Legion manipulating disgruntled Loyalist guardsmen into outright rebellion without the whole "WOOCHAOSSPIKESANDTENTACLESEVERYWHERE" thing.
(*reference - Roek Ghulclaw and the Guns of Freedom)
I think that's the direction I wanted to go in with my Renegades right from the start, blindly and naively following in the name of "liberation".
Leaving on that, I await all your nice comments.

bottbott, it's more of a thrown back to my days painting old-school style Red Corsairs. ( Example Picture) I needed something to break up all the bright red.
Malika2, have a link:
The Purge
In a nutshell, they're genocidal Nurgle Renegades. I wanted to try and recreate the green used in that shoulder pad diagram (I'm thinking a couple of layers of Snot Green stippled over Chaos Black) more than the example model shown on that page. I'd figured that the Alpha Legion wouldn't actually be anything apart from Undivided, so some allies would fit both the fluff and the "combined arms" warband feel.

Back again with another update! I've slowly started working on the next part of my Alpha Legion, so here's the first two members of the ten-man squad:
Aspiring Champion:
(I used a helmet from the Chaos Terminator Lord sprue, because I think it looks awesome!)
Meltagunner 1:
I've also decided to dig up my old Epic stuff, and paint up a small Alpha legion army to go alongside their 28mm brethren.
Infantry Stand:
(I actually have four of these painted so far, but the accursed camera refused to take a decent picture of them altogether. Oh well, four down, eight more (plus four Havoc stands) to go for now)
- - - - - - - - - -
On other news, I've got some of the new Imperial Guard stuff winging my way with my preorder, as well as some Inquisitor stuff (ooh fancy ).
That, and I've started to basecoat a Defiler. Good times.

migsula, that is very true - nothing better then some new shiny goodies to kickstart the old painting.
nemissary, be my guest and use the idea. It certainly wasn't mine and I certain I won't be the last either.
Llamahead, I'm still working out the reasoning behind the red in my mind but I think it is more of a representation of blood than drenching everything in the stuff - that would be a bit too extreme for mere misguided mortals.
- - - - - - - - - -
An update, with vaguely decent pictures too!
Platoon Commander:
(new picture)
Platoon Command Medic:
I really like how the face came out on the Medic, I used to find those areas really hard to paint convincingly but I think I've nailed it now.
- - - - - - - - - -
Work continues steadily on the Platoon Command Squad, mostly just the skin and the Platoon Banner to do now. My Sentinel is also paint in progress, still quite a bit to do but it's looking rather good so far!
Also, I have some Epic (mostly Warmaster Daemons *) coming along in the post for me so that'll propbably kick me back into painting for that game.
* the teeny tiny Screamers are so cute, I want them now!
That be all for now,

I'm ashamed to admit it's been over a month since I last posted here, but I'm here to make amends. I have two weeks off now, all painting and no work make good times. - - - - - - - - - - First, some answers to responses; karnaeya, thank you! The head is the one of the Cadian Command sprue with the visor. Whilst not my favourite in the kit, I chose it because the official Al'rahem model has shades so my count-as needed some eye protection too! As for red, correct on all accounts (it is really that easy!). Malika2, IAmTheWalrus, ghostmaker and Sketches, cheers for the positive words. It's always appreciated. Disjointed Entity, it's only a case of cutting it down and filing it well so it's about two to three minutes each perhaps? - - - - - - - - - - Now, I usually don't post paint-in-progress pictures because it tends to clog up a log, but here's an exception because I technically don't have anything finished to show you. (just several half-painted things) The current PIP: ~edit~ - forgot to upload one of the photos Yup, that's an Alpha Legion Sorcerer and the good old enigmatic Cypher. I hope you like the scales on the Sorcerer's fist because I'm adding more to the model. The arm without the hand will eventually hold a Force Staff swing dramatically behind him. Also, I've pretty much decided upon the background behind the force and this character in particular which I shall wrote up and divulge to you good people when this guy is done. The Serpent Host shall rise! As for Cypher, there's not much to say really at the moment. I'm using a lot of Charadon Granite mixed through to Dhenub Stone for his robes (quite pleased with them so far, needs the final highlights still though) and went for black armour instead of the more traditional dark green. - - - - - - - - - - Whilst not strictly on-topic, I have recently started up a side project for Mordheim so I hope people take a look. (I would like some critique and the attention of course.) Have a link! - - - - - - - - - - Right, that's enough from me for now, so comments and critique appreciated as usual! Feral

I've been continuing work on the Sorcerer and Cypher, but I thought after doing the scales on the first, I'd give a stab at some on the Defiler which sits so patiently next to my desk waiting for some paint.
So, since I've obviously decided to cast away the "no PIP pictures" rule have another PIP picture!
PIP Defiler turret:
It's not perfect but I'm going to go back and neaten it up a bit more. It also serves as practise for when I paint my Chaos Rhino for the (soon to be expanded) Possessed squad.
Anyway, keep it cool (especially in this blinding weather).

Lord Dar'lokii, The Lost:
The Serpent Host
As with all the Alpha Legion's military might is mostly unknown due to their characteristic secrecy, so to is the blight currently rampaging the Morlath system known as the "Serpent Host". Most of the information gleaned on this warband of Chaos Space Marines is centered arouind their current leader, the fiend referred to as Lord Dar'lokii, the Lost. What is mostly known of this loathsome being is that it is believed he was exiled or volunteered to cut connections with the rest of his legion and take a handful of his most loyal Chosen across one side of the Ultima Segmentum to the other to hunt down and find the heretical device known as the "Pandora's Eye". His recent searches have drawn him to the Sfantu system (near to the Maelstrom) to scour the Morlath cluster of planets. It is believed that the recent uprisings in the systems are in least some part down to this warband, if the reputation of their accursed legion's specialism in recuiting and using local cults to their own ends is to be believed [cross-ref: Morlath V Rebellion; Cult of the Hydra; Confederation of Blood].
As to the organisation of the Serpent Horde, a few witnesses have attested that the main elite core that the rest of the Chaos Space Marines gather around are thought to be those original members of the warband due to their extreme skills in the art of stealth, misdirection and complex psychological tactics. It is also believed that due to their rumoured lengthy extent in the Maelstrom (perhaps following some obscure lead to the Pandora's Eye) that the twisted depths of the Warp Storm has permanently converted and defiled their very forms into vicious and terrifying new ways beasts. [cross-ref: Possessed, Chosen] It is no surprise that these hardened cadre of monsters are at the heart and forefront of every attack by the warband, their sickening visages probably just a small part of the complex and layered tactics of their Lord.
Aside from these foul abominations, it is known that the vast majority of the warband is made up from fellow brethen of the Alpha Legion (probably drawn to the warband by Darlokii's string of vile cunning and ferocity) and (unsurprisingly considering their current proximity to the Badab system) allies from the piratic Red Corsairs as well as various other renegades and heretics [cross-ref: Badab War, Nal'raak Bloodreaver].
One thing is known, wherever they strike confusing and strife reign king and all effort should be used to exterminate this ancient and ever relentless enemy of ours.

Triple post!

With that I say good news everyone! The Platoon Command Squad is finally finished (and there was me just needing to deface one banner and then base it's bearer. Typical!).
Platoon Banner Bearer:
The PCC finally arranged together and complete (plus lots of WIP things in the background):
I was a bit unsure how the defilement of the banner would turn out, but I'm pleased with it. At least I've now had a bit more practice for what's coming in the pipeline eventually.
I would much appreciate any comments or constructive criticism.

infilTRAITOR, that's quite the complement. Your stuff is awesome too! jack1995, well I do try. Cheers. - - - - - - - - - - Now, I don't usually post up pictures of models not touched by the paintbrush. However, inspired by the successes of the defilement of the banner (see last post) and because this is something I've wanted to do for a while now I'd thought I'd give myself a challenge; BUILD AND PAINT 25 RED CORSAIRS IN THREE DAYS Yeah, so this is the result so far after day one: Yesterday I purchased the kits I needed (ten Chaos Marines, ten Tactical marines and five Devestators) and spend a good afternoon in my local GW store furiously clipping, filing and gluing together models. For today, I will finish building the last ten, add a few Green Stuff cables for the Havoc Aspiring Champion's head and get the basecoating done. So, expect another update tomorrow in which I will talk about how I plan on painting them (check the back of the previous Chaos Space Marine codex for a hint ) Good times. Feral

Hurrah! Proper Red Corsairs, none of this 'unified colour scheme' nonense they're peddling in the new codex.
I have to say, I do like the scale pattern on Dar'lokii, might steal that for my Alpha Legion when I get around to them.

Warp damn my eyes, this is ruinous stuff! I'm liking you're traitor IG, they've got an evil theme alright. Good luck with painting those 25 Corsairs in three days. Don't worry if you don't accomplish this, however, as long as they look good when they're done. (..And make sure that you do get 'em done, or else... Err... The Chaos Gods will be very angry. When they get angry, Huron gets upset, and when Huron gets upset... PEOPLE DIE!)

Dragonlover, I like how they expanded the actions of what the Red Corsairs get up to these days, but not the fact as you mentioned they've completely ignored the rag-tag theme they used to have. Oh well, I'm picking best of both worlds for my ones.
Cosmic, thank you for your nice words. I'm glad to hear even if I don't succeed in my initial plans of twenty five models in three day then at least I've made massive progress in what I'm usually capable of.
- - - - - - - - - -
So, here's the results of after day two's work:
I decided to finish painting one up to see how the final result would look:
It still needs a bit of tidying up, but otherwise I'm happy with the colour scheme. I decided that half of the Red Corsairs will be straight up renegade Crimson Fists, whilst the rest will have more corrupted armour. Needless to say but the Aspiring Champions will have the most defiled armour because they are higher up in the chain of command.

I would be happy to hear what you think.

Gutteridge and Dragonlover, I completely forgot to highlight the eyes so thank you for reminding me. I'm using purple because it's the "spot colour" (if that's the right term). It looks a bit strange next to the Crimson Fist scheme (because they have bright red eyes) but I've fixed the eyes now so they're a bit lighter now. That or I blame my camera. infilTRAITOR, I would like such credit but it's the Foundation Paint range that gives that muted vibe. I use them for pretty much everything now (the only other colours I use are white, black, Hawk Turquoise and Goblin Green I think). Best paints ever released by GW in my opinion. - - - - - - - - - - I finished another test model, but in the alternate "not-so-corrupted" scheme. I am very pleased with this one and I think it's a bit easier to paint too. (I've just realised that I forgot to add a cross to the purity seal. Damn.) At this rate I'm certain I won't be able to finish them all by today, but I will get the first ten done and then another five each day onwards (I got back to work tomorrow so that screws with plans a bit). Thanks for looking, Feral

I am really digging this project so far man. At first I wasn't really sold on the IG fellows with their very rough style, but the look has really been growing on me. I do think some of the highlights could be toned down a bit though.
I particularly LOVE your sorceror; I think he has probably one of the most dynamic poses I have seen for a while. I am also really liking the subdued color scheme matched with the really nice scales details.
What rules are you planning on using for the Alpha boys?

To be fair, if you've realised that these paints are great for that purpose and used them as such, I think you deserve the credit. I've always loved the muted tones of the foundations more than the regular paints. I use Tallarn Flesh as my main flesh colour and the Red as my main red.

Wehrkind, thank you for taking the time to reply in depth. The reasoning behind the extreme highlights on the Traitors was mostly to make them stand out on the table (same as with the armour, but that was more of an experiment in rust and damage). When I inevitably get to the next Infantry Platoon I will aim for a more realistic effect (including toning down the grey as you suggested alongside a few other ideas I've had.) The Alpha Legion will be used with the current CSM codex. Despite it's faults I find this flexible list copes well with the mixed "warband" aspect of Chaos rather well; as an example I'll be using lots of mechanised Chosen and Possessed for the Alpha Legion and lots of big units of basic infantry and Terminators for the Red Corsairs. I'm trying to bring out the character of each Legion / Chapter without constricting unit choice in-game (hopefully that made sense ). infilTRAITOR, another thing I found with them is that are a lot easier to mix with water for layering. When I try it with normal paints the colour becomes inconsistent and harder to work with. I think the best thing I've learned when painting though is mixing in cream or grey for highlights, not white (draws the colour palette together or something). To everyone else that replied too, I thank you also. I like the attention - - - - - - - - - - I craved into the goodness that is the new Bastion and chucked it together with glee! I then went back and added lots of spikes and chains for that chaotic vibe. (or got ideas from hanging around too many Raider camps in Fallout 3 ) There's also going to be a corpse of an Imperial Guardsman hanging from the front as well (just a little bit of Green Stuff work to fill some gaps before I can stick him on for painting) Some details on the balcony level: (I like the oversized key for the hatch ) I'll also be revisiting my Traitor Guard sometime (since this is whom the Bastion is for) in the form of some background material and maybe some painting too.) - - - - - - - - - - Next update will contain more Red Corsairs I promise, Feral

Back again! I have some progress with the Red Corsairs.
Havoc Aspiring Champion PIP:
I'm ridiculously close to finishing him off, but this infernal hot weather prevents me from finishing him off which is really quite annoying considering the lack of time I get to paint in peace.
I've also undercoated a Chaos Rhino for my Alpha Legion Possessed (who incidentally have risen in number to nine because I built some more ). When I've decided on how will do the freehand on the chassis I will have a go at that.

infilTRAITOR, good point! I'll be sure to get rid of that one. Dragonlover, I'll be fielding them in a ten-man squad with two Heavy Bolters and two Missile Launchers (the anti-infantry route). I feel that bare minimum squads loaded up with expensive upgrades makes them seem pretty easy to take out, however by taking taking the maximum of ten however allows me to mow down footsloggers with ease (think of all the shots with rapid firing Bolters and those Frag Missile templates). You'll be pleased to hear the Aspiring Champion is finished and next on the agenda; work on the rest of his squad (probably about 80% done as of now).

OK no love for the Alpha Legion, but here's something I'd really like people's opinions on; I'm joining in with a joint Renegade Militia force on the Ammobunker, and here's my tester model: (The purple around his eyes is supposed to be source lighting, be gentle because it's my first try at it.) I'm not going to do many of these guys, just a platoon or I might mechanize them since I have a few tanks to go alongside them as well (including a Malcador Defender ). I'm also doing to do some The Purge allies, of which I have a Chaos Lord currently in PIP. On a slightly different subject... I've also I've been busy painting a variety of models for Warhammer, Mordheim and WHQ as a side project so if anyone is interested in them I could include some of them in future updates to vary things up a bit. Sometimes the lack of comments make me sad (even just a thumbs up or a nice word or two and I'll be happy. ) Till whenever Dakka, Feral

First off, thank you everyone who takes the time to post a comment, no matter how brief or trivial. For those who even post constructive criticism and suggestions, you're even better. It's nice to see my work is appreciated. ...Of Nurgle Renegade Militia... I've decided to scrape the last test model, had a think about it and decided it just didn't work hence this; Much better do you agree? Also, just a few distraction pieces before I fully get on with the rest of the Disciples / Veterans squad the above model belongs too. Rogue Psyker: (just needs a bit of reworking on the armour and basing) Tank Commander: ...And Others... Between paint Chaos Marines, Renegades and the like I like to dabble in some Fantasy. It's just a little something to improve my painting skills on some lovely models and also slowly aim toward my dream of having a massive nicely-painted collection for Warhammer Quest. Here's a few I have done already; Dark Elf Dreadlord: Skink Priest: Well, that's all for now. I would rather like to hear your opinions / advice / ideas and the like, Feral

They are going to be a slow project to do alongside other stuff. I have the older stuff to strip and redo along with some new infantry I have built more recently. - - - - - - - - - - First up, something I painted a while back and could not get decent photos of for some reason. Mordheim Halfling Thief: Next up and more up-to-date, something to give any intrepid Warriors a run for their money. Deathmaster Snikch / WHQ Skaven Assassin: Now for a futuristic foray into the fiddly scale AKA Epic, some Tzeentch Daemons. I had fun doing these, discovered a nice painting idea for the flesh; pale blue with glazes of the GW Purple Wash to shade. Lord of Change: Screamers: I have more to do, another three stands of Screamers and six stands of the old plastic Epic Flamers. Burn. Finally, some more Malifaux to finish off for now. The Hanged: Dang, I've just noticed a couple of areas on some of these that need doing / refining. Woops. Still, I'd like to hear what you think as usual. As for next time, expect some Mad Puppet, some Weird Weird War 2 and more Malifaux too. Oh and Renegades too. Keep it random, Feral

Hello again people.
I thought I'd update with this model whilst I finish off some others as mentioned in my last post.
Scavenger Leader:
Let me just say, I love this model! It was probably the first non- GW miniature I rather liked and as such probably kicked off my adventure into alternate lines.
Having said that, it did take me three attempts to get the flesh right for some reason but persistence won out in the end. I'm rather pleased with the mohawk, managed to blend the colours quite well I think. I also added a bit of "psycho jester" makeup to his face for character.
Comments and stuff would be nice, I'm rather pleased with how it turned out.
Thanks for reading,

Thank you for the constructive advice people. After mulling over the subject, I think the eyes require highlighting further up to white and more importantly the rust needs to be toned down a bit so it's not so prominent. I don't want to add any other colours to the scheme, the bright orange and dull green-grey was chosen so that the orange would stand out. Anyway, nothing new to report yet but things are being worked on, namely Incursion Germans, some civilian zombies from Studio Miniatures and finally some various WHQ Monsters. By the way Metsuri, what is the gaming in Incursion like? I am intrigued, it looks like a lot of fun.

Cannot say much of the actual gaming, as I haven't been able to get a game going. The game itself is really nice looking and with my weakness with nazi zombies I really had no chance to resist it.
The rules are available on the official site as a download if you are interested.

Ooh I like the look of the rules, I'm rather interested in the game now. - - - - - - - - - - I have finished a Goblin Fanatic for WHQ, consider it a test model for greenskin flesh and other bits (tried some red and purple glazes): (still needs static grass though, waiting on some superglue in the post) Once the other two are done, I shall probably begin painting a quartet of Zombies converted from the Corpse Cart kit, plus a plastic Necromancer. I might even work on a pair of Hell Dorado miniatures for an online competition sometime too. :p I also managed to blag some classics off eBay, Gubbinz the Goblin Jester for WHQ and a trio of Epic Tzeentch Doomwings, so expect them sometime in the future as well along with some more Epic as well. Till then, Feral

Oh I love the robes! I never liked the cartoony look of WFB. But you make it look realistic and actually scary!

Cheers Munch Munch, you'll be pleased to hear I have another two in the works, plus I've started on an Avatars of War Orc Shaman plus the classic Gubbinz the Goblin Jester. - - - - - - - - - - Another small update from me today, just two things. I'm rebasing my Epic onto old coins instead of the standard strip bases they are supplied with. That way I can put less individual models on each stand, so I can have more stands. Plus I can make the bases more interesting too. As an example, here are a couple of rebased Tzeentch Screamers: I rather like it now, plus I used thinner brass wire instead of the chunky stands they had. That means I can vary the height each one is hovering too. And secondly, I'm working on some Zombie Pirates for Quest. A big shout out to Maelstrom for providing the bits for this next conversion and some future stuff too. Cheers dude. Whilst waiting for eBay bits and pieces to tun up, I started work on an Animated Hulk that will accompany the Zombie Pirates. Arrgh! He is obviously going to be Undead so I'm going the full hog and sculpting part of his cracked skull and rotting guts. I even in a stroke of genius though I'd give him a hook, made from a part from the Chaos Vehicles Accessories sprue. Clever if I do say so myself. - - - - - - - - - - For someone who didn't have much to show, that's quite the post. Toodles, Feral

Clever indeed! Looks like a great start to a promising figure.
And I love the paintjob on the fanatic. Subtle, but very painterly and atmospheric.

Thank you tinfoil, since you liked the Fanatic I hope you'll like this just as much. - - - - - - - - - - Just a small (mean and green) update today! Gubbinz the Goblin Jester: This model was an awesome sculpt when it was released and still is to this day I think. More Epic in the next update, plus something.....enigmatic! Can you guess? Leaving you puzzled, Feral

Nope, nice try though Munch Munch! - - - - - - - - - - Anywho's in case you couldn't crack the riddle I left you with last time; Edward Nygma AKA The Riddler: This came about because I've had people comment on my work saying it has a "dark comic book feel" which I though was pretty cool. That and the Hellboy and B.P.R.D my friend Chris did inspired me too. So, the model came from HeroClix which I cleaned up, replaced his staff with some sturdier brass rod, gave him a lovely resin base (from Fenris Games, I certainly recommend!) and repainted. I hope you like it, it was a blast to do and made a nice change. I have a few more other Batman villains to give the treatment to as well ( Two-Face, Penguin & Firefly) as well as Lobster Johnson from B.P.R.D. Normal service will commence next time, Feral

Looking AWESOME. I love the fact that you incorporate purple into alot of your schemes. It's something different and unique.(usually you only see purple on tyranid carapaces.)

Hehe I love purple, especially if it's a muted shade as you'll see below... - - - - - - - - - - Have a teaser: (The face and shoulder pad are the only bits that are done.) I'm restarting my Chaos Marines with a fresh new custom colour scheme and background. Ideas and musings on the subject wrote:~ They will be called "The Desecration", a renegade warband similar in aspects to the Red Corsairs. ~ Purple and black armour, colours alternating on the arms and legs (so purple trim and black panels on one side will be black trim and purple panels on the other.) ~ Green quarter Chaos stars and crossed out Imperial iconography in a pale green colour for insignia. ~ The ones with bare heads will have mohawks (Space Wolves bits), black hair with several whites streaks (just because I think it looks cool). ~ Mix of Chaos Marine and Space Marine parts, no daemonic or mutated elements (those will come from support from other Legions and renegades ie. Alpha Legion for Possessed, Night Lords perhaps...) ~ Doctrinal believe that humanity is bound to fall into anarchy, so advocates anti-Imperial activities and propaganda (use of graffiti on some terrain perhaps?). ~ Chaos Undivided, but with Chaos Marines from other sources for support (as mentioned). That's all for now, the first step is to build a Battle Missions style Kill-Team for them (easy enough) and go from there. Let me know what you think! Toodles for now, Feral
